  1. ND doesn't look to have the D to win a title. Taking nothing away from FSU, but the Irish were matadors on drives.
  2. Great D late by Jak in the quarter, but we can't reasonably expect her to be a scorer late on the road against a good team. This is where Booker must take control.
  3. The post I nearly made before tipoff, but then didn't, was one of concern. Nothing that's happened since then has made me feel any better. We're continuing to shoot abysmally and getting owned in the paint. Until Booker puts on her missing cape, we're going to have issues breaking it open against anyone decent. This isn't UGA we're playing.
  4. Regardless of how their replacements fare, I'm really glad Choice, Joseph and now Bo Davis have moved on to pro jobs instead of to other college programs. Choice in particular seemed popular enough with his players that someone in our RB room might have followed him to another school. I doubt it with Joseph's DB room, but you never know. Davis departing LSU for the Saints obviously might crack a window wide enough for us to grab a DL transfer or at least help us with recruiting against Kelly in this next cycle. Guess some DB or other player at Texas might follow Gideon to Georgia Tech, but I can't see any rotation guy doing so unless he's mighty homesick for the Southeast.
  5. We have at least five rotation players for whom I can identify no specific skill set.
  6. So Lurch loses the ball OOB and immediately turns to go downcourt on defense. But nooooo...ref says Arky ball. Lurch then hits a 3 from somewhere in outer space, and Terry gets a T. This is so much fun to watch.
  7. I've been more concerned about Chavez picking OU than Tech. A better and more stable program historically (and for sure recently), plus a fast-paced style and Nike alignment, as @Js1 has noted. And presumably the truck stop sugar momma of OU softball could offer her however much the school wants her to write a check for, if it comes down to that. Even so, I'm leaning hard toward Texas. Rarely has a contending team that checks every box for a player been in such clear need of that same player's individual skill set. Now excuse me while I go trademark ArchAaliyahmania.
  8. At this point, Tech might be willing to break its Adidas contract, hire the Monterey coaching staff, make Sonny Chavez GM and give scholarships to all four of Aaliyah's fellow starters.
  9. Bingo. Nowhere in aggy's touching ode to loyalty is mention of the fact Earley bolted for Austin at first opportunity. They were eager to trash him until the aggy brass lured him back. That desperate move of hiring an unqualified HC to hold their roster together was short-sighted, but after the humiliation of so many defections to the evil empire, it was portrayed as some meritorious achievement. Sure, Jan. As for that roster, funny how there's no questioning of why several current aggy players briefly went into the portal before deciding to stay. Were these guys as loyal as fan fiction suggests, they'd never have thought about playing in Austin or anywhere else. But as noted, true ags will always rework the facts to suit their fantasy.
  10. "Akina's age will be an issue. I can't believe Sark's still robbing the cradle." - Dick LeBeau
  11. Not to mention Holle has been off in her % nearly all year. She's getting some decent looks but not many makes. Maybe she's nursing an injury, or maybe it's just a slump. She continues to play hard on D.
  12. "See? Just more proof Texas hasn't played anyone!" — haters everywhere
  13. And probably Jim Thorpe
  14. If Akina proves to be our worst defensive coach, we'll be just fine.
  15. She's been dreadful. But she's far from the only one. The sooner we play four guards, the sooner we win this.
  16. I'd give the three freshmen more minutes and tell Booker she has to get into the head of the key way more often. Can't bust a zone by passing around the arc and then launching wayward jumpers. Play like champions.
  17. Wow. Oldacre and Jones playing together against a bad team and still can't get rebounding position under the basket. That half was embarrassingly bad in every way an offense can be.
  18. Watching this as a non-Texas fan, I'd be among the many who question our ranking.
  19. What a miserable start on offense. Somebody start busting that zone or this is going to remain unnecessarily ugly.
  20. Representing the No-Sunshine State
  21. I never enjoy losing to OU in any sport. But if you told me CDC witnessing a runaway Sooner win in Moody was what it would take to send RT packing....
  22. If the job involves coaching guys to minimize scoring, I have a solution to the problem of what we should do with Rodney Terry.
  23. Stanford lived by the HR against us and died by it today.
