Absolutely. The only reason I wasn't posting about walking Parker was that I was in a doctor's office and didn't see the final score until I got back to the car. Sickening to see it ended 4-3 OU, but I wasn't shocked by that result...only that Weekly let OU's best hitter beat them.
Same as with Pickens, I'd try to see how good they are at fielding bunts. Even if they know you're bunting, your odds of beating one out or getting on via an error might be better than swinging away vs. a dominant fireballer.
You know Gasso's going to have some plan for pitching to Joley. That's part of why we desperately need Henry and Atwood back in the flow offensively. Oh, and why are we still waiting on Cimusz to be unshackled? This team has better be ready to hit, because I seriously doubt 3 runs will be enough Saturday.
I get it in principle...but with Parker up, I'm sending her straight to 1B and taking my chances from there. You just can't let her beat you in that scenario with that much at stake.
It's hard to imagine Henry is still a .400 hitter. She hasn't been swinging like one. But if I need someone to catch a low liner or take an extra base, few are better.
Maybe Chuck Yeager.
I don't care how good their infield defense is. If Pickens is dialed in, anyone with even a hint of bunting skill needs to at least try to lay one down. Way better odds than whiffing.
I hope White finally frees Katie Cimusz in Game 1. She destroyed the ball in that 13-7 win over Gata, with 2HRs. Of course, most of what gets mentioned about that game is how Falby robbed her of yet another HR. Because everyone knows Florida is real SEC, and Texas isn't.
SCar and Clemson can forever argue over which in-state team melted down worse with a chance to sweep its way into the WCWS. I'd give the fail edge to the Gamecocks, given how yesterday ended and the fact they're playing at home.
