  1. OL is the only position where I "trust the coaches" because Flood's so good and OL recruiting is such a crap shoot. For every Kelvin Banks, there's a Mason Walters. Hell, DJ Campbell was rated higher than Banks on most services. Let Flood get his guys and shoot the moon for Fasusi.
  2. One of the things working for and against Matthew Golden is that every single one of his catches has been for a touchdown. He only scores touchdowns, but it lowers his ypc and yac.
  3. Cam Williams is showing up in more first round mock drafts than not. Some even have him going higher than Banks, which is ridiculous. But he's one of the fastest-rising prospects in the country. I assume he's gone.
  4. And then the whore coerced my son into putting a finger up her butthole.....
  5. Seeing Kade Phillips at 23 is frustrating.
  6. We can rightfully complain about the offense and Quinn’s inability to throw a pass longer than 5 yards. But I feel this team isn’t getting the respect it deserves because the defense is fucking DOMINANT.
  7. Joe T just wants a competitive game. He’s no Spencer Tillman.
  8. Taafe has to win the walk-on player of the year award, right? He’s been fucking nails all year.
  9. All matthew golden does is score touchdowns. Dude is fucking nails
  10. How does one pronounce his first name?
  11. 1/3 of the restaurants in Texas that got a star or a bib are BBQ restaurants.
  12. Also, no Tex-Mex places earning a star OR bib gourmand, and only three tex-mex places earning a "Selected Restaurant" status statewide. That was unexpected. Thought there'd be more.
  13. It'll be interesting to see how the Texas Monthly Top-10 compares to the 20 places that earned a star or a bib gourmand. I'm very surprised by a lot of this. Austin having 7 restaurants earn stars is shocking, but I can see the case that can be made for all except La Barbecue. Giving La Barbecue a star but not Franklin is certainly a choice. Giving 7 Austin restaurants stars and Houston 5 (6 if you include Corkscrew), Dallas 1 and San Antonio 1 is VERY surprising.
  14. It's really easy. My HEB stopped carrying dried ancho powder in the bulk spice section and now only carry chili powder blends that are full of a bunch of shit I don't want. I want dried ancho powder only so I buy the dried mi tienda peppers (or any brand of dried peppers), remove the stems and seeds and throw them into a spice grinder until they're powdered.
  15. woof. that was.... really really bad and unfunny. even by their lowly standards
  16. I'd go to Habanero. Other good options are El Primo (but it's a food truck. no seating). Tacorrido (drive through). If you're looking for a fancier place with cocktails, you could check out El Alma. If you're with women, they'll love the place. I think it's pretty good but too expensive.
  17. One thing I don't see being discussed all that much is our giving Israel billions to bomb women and children and then get to see their mutilated corpses on the news and internet. I know quite a few progressives that either stayed home or voted third party because they just couldn't justify supporting candidates that fund genocide with our tax dollars. That's a war we should have been able to negotiate a diplomatic resolution too much, much sooner, and it (along with everything else being discussed in this thread) bit Harris in the ass.
  18. Oh, and another thing - pre-election polling data is worthless, especially when you have a candidate like Trump in the mix. People did not want to voluntarily admit that they were gonna vote for Trump. They know it's distasteful. And it skews the polls.
  19. A few thoughts. The Dems "Big Tent" gives them a broad and diverse voting base, but it's clear that loudly progressing the platform of every demographic within that base does not resonate with those outside the tent. I thought it was absurd that the only ads Ted Cruz ran were about trans bullshit and "men playing in women's sports". I thought, "there's no way people really give a shit about this, right?" But boy was I wrong. They polled prospective voters and those voters said "we're tired of this shit." They knew what they were doing, and it worked. Identity Politics is a losing game. The path forward to protect and expand the rights for marginalized groups will probably require first obtaining a political mandate by gaining the public's trust on handling the meat-and-potatoes issues that do resonate with the broader electorate, and then passing legislation enshrining those rights for marginalized groups, even if the general public isn't necessarily comfortable with it. Dems need to stick to the meat and potatoes issues that resonate with voters and tune out the social issues that give middle America the ick. Jobs, economy, diplomacy. It sucks, but it's true. My very real concerns about Trump's legislative and personal-retribution agenda are somewhat mitigated by the fact that he's too fucking lazy to do any real work, although spite is a great motivator. My concerns is who will be the person(s) setting and executing the legislative agenda. Donald Trump is not a fascist because of his political philosophy. Donald Trump has no philosophy. He's a political nihilist. (I mean, say what you will about the tenets of national socialism. At least it's an ethos) He will support anything that he believes is popular and will get people to vote for him. He's the very definition of a puppet. The question then becomes, who is he going to let put their hand up his ass and make him dance? But he is a fascist in the sense that he believes the presidency gives him absolute authority. And his stacking of the Supreme Court and their ruling that the executive office is immune to prosecution only reaffirms that belief. How motivated will be to go after his enemies, and what will that look like? I truly don't know. I'm also very nervous about diplomacy. This man is so unstable. It's terrifying that he could literally order a nuclear attack at any time. Also, hey Ukraine - you're fucked. You should probably start walking west if you live there. As a straight white man, I try to reflect upon, appreciate and understand the incredible privilege with which I've been blessed. My life wasn't dramatically impacted by the first Trump presidency. And if my daughter were to need access to exercise what I believe is her right to get an abortion, we have the means to facilitate that. But I do feel for marginalized groups that will be affected by those setting the legislative agenda. Buckle up buttercup. It's gonna be a terrible fucking ride. It'll be like when those people boarded an architectural boat tour in Chicago on August 8th 2004 only to have Dave Matthews Band's tour bus dump 800 pounds of human waste all over them as the bus passed over the Kinzie Street bridge.
  20. Mine went from a little less than an inch to 3.5 inches. No fucking chance
  21. Can’t take anything for granted, but Fong is just a mouthpiece for whatever Elko is wishcasting.
  22. Henry, Jimmy, and Tommy probably wouldn't have hung out with Maury. And I was sad that Spider got whacked. But that's about all I got.
  23. I'm still into it, but share many of the criticisms that have been levied in this thread. 1) How would the dead kid's mom know the details of the affair and that she was complicit in the death of her son. It doesn't make sense. They're gonna have to fill in the gaps here for the show to satisfactorily resolve. 2) It started strong but it's sputtering a bit here in the last episode and there are some inconsistencies that are hard to believe. For instance, Kevin Cline shows up at her office, provides copies of the book for the whole office to read, they read the book while Catherine is on her way into the office, and they all believed what was written in the book before they aggressively confront her when she shows up for work? Yeah, I'm not buying it. No time to read the book and she'd get the benefit of the doubt from all of these colleagues that supposedly admired her brilliance. 3) There aren't really any likeable characters. Even with Kevin Cline's character, I want to say "let it go, man. he's been dead for 20 years"
  24. I had a ton of people recommend Boondock Saints when it first came out. That movie is fucking terrible. It's one of the only movies I quit watching halfway through.
