Legimately curious, the leader by far so far is that he'll plea and lose the election. What on earth makes anyone think he'd agree to any sort of plea? They would require him to admit committing crimes on the record. Also, the possibilities are far more than listed. I think the most likely is that he's convicted of one or more of the crimes he's charged with and either sentenced to no jail, or home confinement, in which he can still run, but will lose a close election.
He'll agree to some sort of bullshit plea deal in the courtroom, then go into the hallway and immediately contradict whatever he just agreed to, and nothing will ever happen after that.

Cal and Hannah will be talking about the unis with the OG and Landry in 10 minutes
Has Cal made a public appearance in the last 15 months without Hannah present? Whoever had the idea to make them a duo might have saved the franchise.

Just noticed Jeremiah has Sweat at 114. Yeah, that’s gonna be one hell of an expensive DWI.

Rankings aren't the same as a mock draft, but Jeremiah's mock draft is arguably the best in the business. His final version last year was the only one on the planet that had the Texans trading back up for Will Anderson, which seemed insane when he suggested it.

I've seen a few national writers already declaring this portal cycle to be low impact overall, citing the power of collectives. Seems a bit early to already draw final conclusions...

There's too much focus on "how could he possibly fall asleep during something this important?!" and not enough on "maybe our highly curated image of workaholic Donald Trump is incorrect and he's just a normal, old fuck who falls asleep a lot."

Will be fun to revisit all of the “he obviously wasn’t good enough to see the field” comments from yesterday.- 2

No idea if he's gonna be any good, but I can confidently say there aren't many 18 year olds built like this.

Color me crazy, but signing and then releasing multiple major league relievers in the span of a week doesn't seem like a sign of a well-run organization.

It’s probably down a bit. The return I listed doesn’t reflect a huge drop in value, but he hasn’t done himself or the Astros any favors in the early going.
Meh. You’d have to give me specifics. Otherwise you’re just being a dick. A lot of the returns would be market dependent and obviously hinge on how each of those players perform between now and the deadline. But really I only listed Tucker (a borderline MVP caliber player with another year of control) and Valdez (an ace with another year of control) as realistic trade candidates even bringing back Top 100 prospects. The Org Top 10/30 types would just be guys like Pedro Leon, Joey Loperfido, Arrighetti, Whitley, etc.; those prospects aren’t that valuable and saying a player isn’t worth that is basically saying they don’t have surplus value. Dylan Cease had less value than Framber (and a smaller market given the spring financial constraints) and he brought back 3 of SD’s top 10 prospects (from a very good farm), one of which was a Top 100 guy.
Wasn't meant to be rude, although certainly reads that way (my bad), and maybe I was overvaluing in my mind what "org top 10" meant - because this is obviously highly dependent on the org. My issues were mostly with the position players, as pitching return is always highly driven by what else is out there. Frankly I just don't think Meyers has any value outside this organization, and as much as I love Chas and Pena, I think their returns would shock (in a bad way) many who are still attached to their postseason heroics.
And on Javier - I have no idea what to make of him. There was a time when I thought he was a future Cy Young candidate and now I don't know if he's actually any good at all. He's someone who could potentially fetch a ransom from the right team (if we eat some money) or he could be priced as the lottery ticket that he appears to be.
All of this only my opinion, obviously.

Is that a Jim Crane decision or a Dana Brown decision?
Reggie Jackson, apparently.

Trade values:
Diaz: multiple Top 100 prospects
Abreu: would have to buy down $30M just to get rid of him
Altuve: don’t even think about it
Pena: a Top 100 prospect plus a couple org top 10 types
Bregman: at this point it’s probably one org top 10 type; hopefully he turns it around
Tucker: a top 100 prospect plus a couple org top 10 guys, his stock is doen since he started slow
Meyers: an org top 10 and a throw-in
McCormick: 2 org top 10s and a lotto
Alvarez: don’t even think about it
Dubon: 2 org top 30s
Caratini: 1 org top 30 plus a lotto, may have to throw in some money
Kessinger, Singleton: no value
Framber: 1 top 100 type assuming his medicals clear; if he comes back healthy this could increase
Verlander: 2 org top 10 types assuming his medicals clear; if he comes back healthy this could increase, could also increase if Houston covers salary
Javier: 1 top 100 type plus 1 org top 10; could get another org top 10 by adding money
France, Brown, Blanco, Garcia, Urquidy, Martinez: value unknown
McCullers: they’d have to throw in $25M just to get rid of him
Bielak, Mushinski, Scott, Coleman: one lotto
Montero: one lotto; they’d probably have to throw in some money
Abreu: 3 org top 10 types
Pressly: one org top 10, assuming Houston pays in some money
Hader: Houston could get a big haul but it wild depend on how much money they paid down
If the season is lost and they do rebuild, it will be much quicker than 2011-2014 and if it goes well they should contend again in 2026.
I appreciate the thought behind this, but many of these (IMO) are overvalues rarely seen outside the confines of texags. Outside of absolute superstars, sure feels like the prospect return on baseball trades is almost always less than anticipated.

Start taking calls on everyone not named Alvarez, Diaz, and Altuve.
Keep Altuve for the sentimental value, but you gotta listen on everyone else. We aren't gonna be good again in Yordan or Yainer's window.

Either Trump gets blown out or the generally accepted idea of a national campaign infrastructure is completely and permanently overhauled.

This coming less than 24 hours after Trump’s big “LEAVE IT UP TO THE STATES” press tour is some real monkey paw shit.

Genuinely unsettling to see Trump correctly reading (at least when it comes to a national ban) a hot button political issue.

The main risk that RFK poses for Biden is if RFK only focuses on the states where Biden has a small lead. Then he could look to find a way to steal votes from Biden by being the "none of the above" candidate.
