  1. Might just be anecdotal but the Trayvon Martin killing was the first time I really noticed the seemingly normal people offline posting some really horrendous shit online. Corresponds pretty closely with the rise of social media.
  2. Gossip might be the only thing this man has ever truly loved. I actually don’t think it’s any more complicated than that, in this instance.
  3. President of the United States and there’s still nothing this man loves more than having a little bit of juicy gossip.
  4. Yeah, a lot of people who I knew were likely Republican voters but I suspected stayed away from a lot of the trollish online discourse were clearly very big fans of Charlie. Eye opening.
  5. It seems obvious to me that Kash Patel and crew are royally fucking this thing up so far, but I recognize I carry a political bias into that opinion. Do others with varying political beliefs see it the same way?
  6. LOL at Burns thinking things like "fucking up your job massively with the entire country watching" matter anymore.
  7. It's been said before, but she is a clearly mentally unwell individual who might have found the only profession on the planet that keeps her out of a psychiatric ward.
  8. Yep, the behaviors I've seen over the last 24 hours worry me almost as much as the act itself. This country is cooked.
  9. It’s expected of Crowder, but shame on the real news outlets that amplified it.
  10. It is obvious that one party has been much more successful over the last decade at influencing young minds, as is evidenced by the reaction to the events of the last 24 hours. It isn’t the party typically associated with tolerance.
  11. Surely this applies to all political violence and now just this singular incident, right? RIGHT?!
  12. Not the point but that image makes it seem like it should be “first AND second blood”, no?
  13. Definitely AI, man we’re fucked.
  14. Seems legit. In fairness, there’s likely no better way to honor Kirk than a misinformation campaign targeting transgender individuals.
  15. To be fair, that’s probably because your post sucked. Doesn’t mean they are celebrating the shooting (or whatever alternative conclusion you concoct in your mind.)
  16. Democrats need to tone down their rhetoric!!!!!!!
  17. I think grouping everyone you disagree with politically in with the small faction that is openly celebrating is the type of rhetoric that got us here.
  18. The President of the United States: "For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world's worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we're seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now," Some guy on MSNBC: “He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that is the environment we are in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.” Guess which one got fired tonight for “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable” comments.
  19. We are a country that loves two things: hating each other and guns. As long as no effort is made to address either of these, the two loves will continue to overlap.
  20. There are people on this earth whose goal is to unify and there are people on this earth whose goal is to divide us. Charlie Kirk was a divider. That obviously doesn’t mean he deserved to die or that what happened today was okay in any way. But if we keep giving the dividers louder microphones and bigger platforms, then events like today will become more and more common.
  21. There’s still about a decade before we have to make the call, but at this point I’ll consider it a failure if my kids end up going to school in state.
  22. The entire Trump experience has been a remarkable view into the roles shame and personal accountability play in society. There have been dozens (hundreds?) of instances where if Trump had merely been like "yeah, I fucked up", his political career would probably have ended. But instead, his obsession with denials and whatabouts have made him almost bulletproof. It would be astonishing if it weren't so harmful.
  23. I mean, President Newsom could come in and order that, in the name of national security, all 6 of them need to be publicly hanged on the WH lawn and a mildly competent lawyer could argue - USING SOLELY SCOTUS OPINIONS - that he is within his right to do so. It's just fucking insanity.
