Cool to see pics of that place. It's in my 'hood. Looks like a great sports bar.

My daughter graduated from UK in 2016. The campus is almost unrecognizable since then. Not sure where the money is coming from, but a lot of demolitions and new construction. Good observation on the Southern thing. Kentucky desperately wants to be considered part of the South. There's a mural downtown that says "Lexington - where the South begins". And it is funny, once you cross the river into Cincinnati, it immediately feels like the Midwest. My daughter and I always laugh as we never would consider Kentucky "the South". The Louisville to Lexington area is beautiful with rolling hills, green grass, and horse country. And liberal. It's a blue dot in red Kentucky. But once you leave this area, oh boy. Appalachiany is a good description.

Just made it back to Austin. Great trip. I need to sleep for the next 2 days. Lexington cannot handle a football game, Keeneland, and the Fasig-Tipton October horse sales on same weekend. Lex also has no freeway in town, so traffic was a nightmare most of the weekend. Kentucky fans were extremely nice and wanted to talk (mainly about Arch) and share at tailgates. They kept saying we would destroy them, but I figured it would be close for 3 quarters before we pulled away. Well I missed that last part. Except for the traffic and the game, very fun time.

Busy, great trip so far. Buffalo Trace and Keeneland yesterday. Amazing meal at Deauville. Claiborne Farm this morning (where Secretariat stood and buried) then Fasig-Tipton. Son-in-law works there. Beautiful grounds. At B&B now. Good place. Mostly Texas fans. Good sign today.

Buffalo Trace was insane today. So crowded but they did a good job. Lots of orange. Texas Fight yell broke out at Keeneland! Who started that?!?

On flight ready for epic weekend. I’m going to cancel the Bear and Butcher. Haven’t heard of anyone going. Met John Baker who is on my flight. Rancher who owns Bevo. Great guy. https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/how-an-austin-area-family-became-the-owners-of-ut-mascot-bevo/269-609600767#

Kind of stunned that Texas/ou was the highest rated game this weekend since it went up against Oregon/Indiana (5.59M). https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/

We've gone from 30+ attending to this: 😀

@Longboard Horn Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Anyone confirmed for showing up at Bear and Butcher on Saturday at 12:30? I have a table for 12, but they won't let us sit unless over half the group there. I'm down to four in my group for Saturday afternoon. @RRHorn - do you still need space for 2? I will reduce my table size to 6 or 8 if I don't hear from anyone.

Gates open at 11a. Post time of first race is 1p. Yes, tailgating is pretty big deal at Keeneland. May consider this as an option at least for part of afternoon. It's free to park on the large grass field near track (you don't need ticket to the races). Just found out my daughter has a horse racing Saturday, as well.

@BurntEyes Is Charlie Brown's still an option after Bear and Butcher?
-
Yes, the Fair would lose a shit ton of money. 250,000 people attend the Fair gameday. No idea why people with no interest in the game, go that day. But they do (and all seem to have baby strollers).
