  1. The 9-2 team played four games in the fall. Games in the fall counted towards the overall record. A 7 to 3 game disparity in the spring is also a lot, but not as crazy as 11. The teams with 3 wins came from conferences where most of the teams opted out of the season.
  2. Shaka Smart had an 11 win season and got FOUR more years at Texas without winning an NCAA Tournament game. You don't get that kind of job security at a basketball school, so good luck!
  3. I will try to be succinct and not put too many numbers in here, but I'm bored all the time now so I did some research and I feel confident in saying the loss to Abilene Christian was the second worst loss in NCAA Tournament history only behind Virginia losing to UMBC and that's ONLY because that was a 1-16 game. UMBC played a hell of a lot better against Virginia than ACU did Texas. Since the field expanded to 64 in 1985 there have been 32 upsets by 14, 15 and 16 seeds. Of the 32 winners ACU had - The worst FG percentage (29.9) - The second fewest field goals (20) - Tied for the second fewest 3pt FG (3) - Tied for third word 3pt FG percentage (16.7) Of the three other teams as bad or worse from three, ACU had the lowest 2pt FG percentage by far. The only team with fewer made field goals was Stephen F Austin against WVU in 2016 and they hit seven threes and took 13 fewer shots. Furthermore, if you look at ACU's analytics profile their strengths were turnover pct (1st in the nation), effective FG pct defense (17th in the nation) and were a modest offensive rebounding team (74th in the country) which is actually pretty impressive considering they're legit one of the smallest teams in the country. Basically, ACU played exactly the way you'd expect them to play and any coaching staff worth a shit would've had their team ready to play and Shaka didn't. ACU played like shit in that game. Texas played slightly worse. TL;DR - Abilene Christian sucks and Shaka Smart sucks worse.
  4. As much as I want the story about Stoops turning around at the airport to be true because fuck him, I think it's fishy. It seems a little too perfect that Texas was just able to nail down a much better coach in less than 24 hours after the supposed Stoops thing. Most of the defensive staff was assembled before we hired K. I'd imagine he'd want a say in the last available spot and told Sark to go get Choate who worked for him in multiple spots. I think Stoops is floating a bunch of bullshit to a media guy. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  5. Come on Sark and CDC, fire up the money cannon!
  6. Tennessee instituted a hiring freeze once they "began investigating" Pruitt and then signed Kevin Steele to a 2 year contract a few days later. He was a finalist for the job when they hired Pruitt. He's getting the job.
  7. Anwar said there was a non coach staffer who may go to Jacksonville. Anyone know who it is? I ain't paying for that shit. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  8. goddammit I knew it looked wrong and still went with it. I'm tired and stupid.

  10. Feldman confirming what we already knew
  11. I honestly love the idea of having coaches on the staff who can help strengthen the relationship with high school coaches across Texas. That was something Mack was masterful at. Strong didn't care to do anything beyond coaching and he wasn't even good at that. Herman was arrogant enough to think people would just fall in line. Hopefully Sark has the wherewithal to realize that alignment in the program means he needs to make sure Texas has good relationships at the high school level.
  12. I have no problem with the bowls. I love all of them. I wish they'd do more to give teams a chance who want to actually be in them. Florida's performance against Oklahoma was disgraceful this year. Mullen basically admitted they weren't trying. You know what then? Fuck you.
  13. Alabama beat Ohio State so bad in the national championship game they let a guy who tore his ACL three weeks ago take a snap.
  14. Ending up 5th was the best thing that happened to A&M in decades. They can bitch and moan about how unfair the system is and blah blah blah, win the Orange Bowl and end their season on a high note. It's way better than getting buttfucked by Alabama again.
  15. If the BCS existed this year the title game would've been Alabama vs Clemson. Ohio State beat Clemson by 21. Alabama is beating Ohio State by 28. Since the transitive property totally exists in college football Alabama would've beaten Clemson by 49 points.
  16. This is the most active thread so I'll ask here, did I see somewhere recently that Ja'Tavion Sanders is going to play on both sides of the ball at least initially or did I make that up?
  17. First career tuddy in the National Championship Game? No big deal.
  18. I think Heisman caliber RB and WR matter. I don't think Mac Jones is a Heisman caliber QB with less talent around him. Bijan can be Heisman caliber. Not sure if we even have a first time All Big 12 receiver on the roster, but we have talented guys there that Sark can scheme open. The biggest problem is that our offensive line and their offensive line aren't in the same galaxy. That's the thing Sark and Kyle Flood have to figure out first. That's the key to the whole damn deal.
  19. Yes, I'm just talking on offense.
  20. The most touches Bijan Robinson had in a game this year was 17. Alabama got Najee Harris 16 touches and DeVonta Smith 12 touches in the first half of the National Championship Game.
  21. They really just tried to have Tuf Borland cover DeVonta Smith. The Ohio State DC had Alabama and the over.
  22. Absolutely fucking hilarious if you think Joshua Moore is as good as DeVonta Smith
