  1. Ohio State almost assuredly needs us to win Saturday to make the playoff which is pretty hilarious.
  2. We're 14th, West Virginia is 16th. That doesn't bode well for us staying ahead of them and getting the Sugar Bowl bid if we lose and Oklahoma makes the playoff. Oh well, guess that means we have to kick Oklahoma's ass.
  3. A couple of Astros pitchers tweeted incredibly nice things about McCann and I know David Ross has said multiple times McCann made him a better player by the example he set. That's a great clubhouse signing. $23 million for Donaldson is a lot, but it's a one year deal so that doesn't matter much. If he's healthy he's a better player than Camargo and Camargo is significantly better than anyone they had on the bench last year and he can give Donaldson days off when he needs them so that's a move that makes them better.
  4. The Athletic is reporting Manchester City is signing Zack Steffen to back up Ederson since Claudio Bravo got hurt after the transfer window closed.
  5. Charlie is a bad head coach. He was justifiably fired. He recruiting a large part of the nucleus of players playing for a conference championship Saturday. I do think he, even if marginally, let the program better off than it was under Mack. At least he helped us get away from the rot. I'm not going to bury the guy. He seemed like a good man way in over his head in a job like this. I'm happy with where we're headed.
  6. LJ has had a meteoric rise this year. He went from 37 catches for 431 yards and a touchdown to 70 catches, 1033 yards and 8 touchdowns with (hopefully) three games left to play. The eye test matches the production. His size and leaping ability make him a match up nightmare. He's not a deep threat which will keep him out of the first round, but he's played himself into a possible second round pick this year. If he comes back what can he do to improve his draft stock? He's not getting faster. He's not getting bigger. It's nearly impossible for him to be more dominant on the field. He's maxed out as an NFL prospect at this point. History isn't kind to players who make huge jumps from the first two years to the third year who come back for a senior year. Coming back can only hurt his draft stock. Anyone who disagrees is viewing the world through burnt orange glasses.

    UCF

Alabama is in a clear tier by themselves. Clemson is in a clear second tier by themselves. Beyond that I think you can put Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington State and UCF in a clear tier of teams with a playoff case based solely on record. I think UCF could compete with any teams in that tier. Then again, I think all of these teams are clearly vulnerable given losses on their resume (OU-Texas was closer than it should've been, Georgia at LSU lol, Wazzu vs USC), a lack of belief in one side of the ball (Michigan's offense) and one being Notre Dame. I'm very much in on Oklahoma playing UCF in the Fiesta Bowl to see if one of the teams can score 100.
  8. I'm off the night of the second leg in Jersey. Debating whether or not to go.
  9. Herman's wife doesn't deserved to be shamed like this. Zach Smith is the scum of the earth. Fuck him.
  10. I know the Texas and Alamo Bowls are good for y'all who live in Texas but they bore the shit out of me.
  11. Just got back from a 90 minute drive from Poughkeepsie, NY to CT because I went to go see Kenny Omega vs Fenix and it was the most incredible match I've ever seen in person. It was amazing.
  12. Someone pointed it out on Twitter and I thought was interesting, we're 90 minutes from the probable next coach of the USMNT (Greg Berhalter) facing the probable next coach of El Tri (Tata Martino) in the Eastern Conference Finals. Not counting on Columbus getting a result in Jersey or Atlanta not choking though.
  13. For lack of a better way to describe it, on one of the touchdowns Wheeler just allowed himself to get blocked. Ran right into it. Didn't do anything to try and shed it or beat. Allowed himself to get blocked. It's maddening.
  14. Here's what annoys the fuck out of me. #49 Taquon Graham rushes against the left tackle and establishes the edge. He sees Grier start to run and he peeks inside and tries to shoot the gap between the tackle and guard. Meanwhile, McCulloch (not in the frame, started lined up on the goalline under the first N in Longhorn) ALSO SHOOTS THE SAME FUCKING GAP LEAVING THE OUTSIDE WIDE OPEN. These players, most of whom have been playing in this system for a couple of years, have no concept of assignment football.
  15. I thought a lot of the problems last week were on the players who exhibited a clear lack of focus and preparation for the game. Last week was a teachable moment for this coaching staff in terms of tackling technique, alignment and assignment football. There was no improvement from last week to this week in any of those regards. Todd Orlando flat out failed this week and today.
  16. I disagree with this thread. It was a one score game. You definitely kick the field goal there to make it a one score game...
  17. I think they should have been running the ball on every first down in that situation.
  18. There's 2:43 left and WVU has two timeouts left. I generally don't like being conservative on offense, but that's a situation in which you have to be at least a little bit conservative. If we were having trouble running the ball that's one thing, but we moved the ball well all day and our best chance to win the game was in the hands of our offense. We needed to try and run clock there (when you're absolutely right about needing to bleed some clock on the possession before) but Texas had two opportunities to bleed clock and didn't do it and that cost them the game.
  19. Texas established the run in the second half. They were controlling the line of scrimmage. So this dumb mensa motherfucker decides to kick a field goal on 4th and 1 to go from a one score game to...a one score game. Then, after West Virginia carved up your awful defense for an easy touchdown you opt to start taking shots in the endzone instead of doing everything in your power to keep West Virginia from getting the ball back. In almost two years he hasn't learned how to manage a game in the slightest. He can recruit. I think there are positive changes to the culture that have been evident. This program isn't going to win shit until it's dipshit head coach learns how to manage a close game.
  20. Reading comprehension isn't your thing, got it.
  21. I never said his ceiling was defined, I was just saying it's possible his ceiling is to make bad or average programs better but not elite. He went 5-15 against Texas and Oklahoma. He's not known as being an expert recruiter. He's undoubtedly one of the greatest offensive minds in college football, but his personality is wrong for a lot of places. You got your panties in a bunch because I suggested Tech wasn't a place for someone with a high ceiling.
