From an article on the MLS website:
RB Leipzig's Tyler Adams could have featured for the U-20s, but wasn't considered.
“What’s important for me is to put the players in a comfortable situation so they do well for the senior national team," Ramos said. "Gregg believes Tyler has moved on from here. He plays in the Bundesliga, he’s doing great there. He’s not even on the 50-man roster.”
Ditto for Werder Bremen striker Josh Sargent.
“We weren’t 100% sure because of the playing time situation, so I did put him on the 50-man roster, but it’s clear that he’s going into the summer with the senior national team," Ramos said. "So it’s best that he continues to move in that direction.”
Tranmere Rovers scored in the 119th minute to win promotion to League One yesterday.
Charlton Athletic scored in the 90+4th minute to win promotion to the Championship today.
Prayers up for you, Ramjet because if the pattern holds tomorrow is going to be wild.
0-4-1, Panama got a penalty in the 87th minute against Mali to get a 1-1 draw yesterday. Not sure what you can glean from any of this because U20 success doesn't guarantee success upward, but it's still not a good look.
Sunderland and Charlton Athletic are tied 1-1 at the half in the League One promotion playoff final. Charlton leveled after giving up one of the most horrific own goals you'll see in a game with such stakes https://streamable.com/xs566
game is on ESPN+ if you have that service.
If this is the Folty we're gonna get going forward this team is going to be good. Him getting close to his form from last year is a game changer for this team. Hopefully he can keep building on it.
The tournament is forgivable because third place teams make the knockout stage, but the US better hope Qatar was just really bad because a loss to Nigeria on Monday and it's probably curtains. The US controlled the run of play most of the game but didn't create a lot of chances in the box and had two crucial defensive fuck ups.
I'm sure I'll watch some of it. Kenny Omega, Pentagon and Fenix are probably my three favorite guys in wrestling right now so I'm certainly invested in them. I have my concerns about the viability of any new wrestling promotion trying to compete with WWE. For one, I don't know that there's a secret, massive wrestling audience out there that wants to consume wrestling but not WWE. I think that bubble burst at the end of the Monday Night Wars and WWE's product has driven so many people away I don't think they're coming back to wrestling. The other problem is main stream stars. There is a ton of talent, but the biggest STAR AEW has is 48 year old Chris Jericho. Hopefully people tune in and realize how great the roster is, but I have my doubts. WWE needs legit competition badly, I hope it works out but I'm skeptical.
Here was my view of Drew McIntyre murdering Ricochet last night.

I was probably going to take a hiatus from watching after last night anyway and the end just confirmed they don't give a shit about their fans. The fact that the product is mostly unwatchable week to week, Vince continues to do business with a murderous dictatorship and the fact that Vince is incredibly mean spirited and callous towards talent who he doesn't use and want to go elsewhere I'm just tired of it. I've always had a fascination with the business even if the on air product was up and down but it all sucks right now.
There are a lot of gaps to fill in here, but Tyrion making a power play the last half of the episode to become the de facto most powerful man in Westeros because Bran is mostly useless at least would've been something. It would at least explain how Bronn, an objectively bad person, could end up as the Master of Coin. The imp who was looked at as a monster by his father and sister becoming the most powerful man in the Seven Kingdoms could've been a satisfying arc if done right.
This was something that I thought was weird too. They almost get completely wiped out by the army of the dead only to have some survive and help Dany destroy Westeros but when she's dead they're just like, "welp, see ya, byeeee!"
Just more lazy writing.
