  1. Not alone at all. I like AJ the guy. But he was a "I'm not in the way of the analytics" manager. Which is awesome to an extent. He was nice so the guys liked him, I'm not sure they thought he was an amazing baseball mind though. I am fine with him coming back and think he'll do a great job, but Luhnow is the guy we have been missing, not AJ. Espada could do just what AJ can, and is probably the right answer
  2. Yeah no, not unless it starts after 05. 1986, with Mike Scott ready to roll. 1998 2nd We were the WS favorite and the best team of that Astros era. Crushing losses to Kevin Brown / Padres. 2005 getting swept next. Then 2019 because it was the best team in MLB history IMO but we had also just won the WS a few years before. This one didn't hurt me at all honestly. We just won the WS last year and have been back over and over I wasn't old enough for 1981 to hurt much. I do sort of remember it, but was 5
  3. I will say that I've talked to Berkman a lot over the years, back when I was doing radio with 1560 and those guys he was always around and I've seen him a bunch since then at events and other stuff. He has an excellent baseball mind and I've always thought he would be a great manager in the bigs. Don't think he wants that much responsibility though.
  4. Not really possible to move on. He doesn't harm the team being on it if he does figure it out. And you're in the same spot if he doesn't. You simply have to think of his contract (which insurance has paid for a few seasons anyway) as a sunk cost and think of him like a kid coming up hoping to make the team. But he's a 40 man guy, and going to be for at least the next two years. Maybe year 3 we would designate if we had too. No way that happens prior. Maybe you get lucky and someone trades a bag of balls for him, but we'd have to pay most of his contract so what's the point?
  5. The Rangers spent almost a billion dollars to beat us, and it took them to Game 7, and we still won the division. Time to spend that money Jimmy. If we don't even try to talk to Shohei I might join some of you in being a smidge upset with Crane. We won't get him, but we should go all out trying.
  6. Pena is a second year player, he has shown flashes of excellence and won the WS MVP last year. And we're trying to pull the plug on a sophomore slump where he was a 3.8 WAR player???? You always listen to offers out there, but under no circumstances should we be soliciting them. Offseason is A starting LF - Lourdes would be awesome. Bench enhancements - I'm fine with Brantley coming back as our last guy/second to last guy on the bench. He proved he could still play to me. Not sure if he can do that over an entire year though, so bench is the best I'd be willing to offer. Crane has made way too much money to have Grae/Singleton on the bench in the playoffs. Relief pitching - 2 arms, 1 a lefty, not because LOOGYs have ever been great, but just to have another look Starting Pitching - 1 guy in the 3/4 starter mold. Or go back in time and get Eovaldi which still pisses me off that we didn't do last year. Farm System - Figure out ways to bolster. Going to have to double down on international to achieve this fast.
  7. What the fuck is going on in this thread. There are narratives out there that just aren't true. He was a better player over the second half than the first half. Just was bad again in the playoffs. Yes his power went away, but he was much more reliable, his BA, OBP, BA/BIP, and OPS were up in the second half. It was really good in August, then pretty good in Sept/Oct, but he was a way better overall player too. Guy just had a 3.8 WAR season in an "okay" year. Pena is awesome if he's your worst problem. Unfortunately Dusty created problems that didn't need to exist in Meyers/Maldonado/Singleton etc.
  8. Just wanted to say Congrats to the rangers fans. Best of luck in the series. I'll be actively cheering for you if it's the freaking Phillies. We'll be back to kick your ass again next year, so make sure you savor this ;-)
  9. There is no way I believe someone that isn't a Rangers fan, or an absolute despiser of the Astros believes Abreu hit Garcia on purpose. There is also no real world math that says "putting a 2nd guy on down 2 in the 8th with no outs is so little of an issue that we'll do it on purpose". There are also zero previous scenarios like this, that someone can point to, where a team made that decision. STFU with that nonsense.
  10. Only a bunch of fucking morons would look at that and say he did it on purpose. So I expect Manfred to extend it to all the playoffs...
  11. We did the DR7004WE for the dryer and love it. Assume I'll end up paying more for the 7 series washer when the 5 would be fine because "it needs to match"
  12. Some of y'all seriously forgot that we won the World Series last year. There is no pressure on the Astros at all. And whatever happens, happens, still won the World series 2 times in the last 6 years.
  13. I didn't realize that Dusty has only coached in 5 more games than Altuve has played in. That's a crazy stat
  14. They are? With the infield so far back?
  15. Sorry not sorry, that was an awesome idea with bad execution. Guaranteed single and run if he gets that almost anywhere down the line
  16. Replaced the dryer with a SQ recently and it's been perfect. Washer isn't far behind
  17. 2022 But the truth is, if you get your pitch signs stolen in the playoffs your catcher and bench coach is pretty worthless. Even if you have a direct camera on them
  18. You must have had earplugs in Nope. Listened the whole game. I think sometimes we want them to be bad so it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. It’s not the best crew in the game. And I’ve hated them many times. Today they were good
  19. In all honesty, the announcing team was really good today. Wainwright really evened AJ out
  20. Others tried being nice. I'll be what you want: Fuck you and your opinion (about baseball hope you have a great day and life otherwise). Not one person that is bitching about the Astros fans would do a damn thing different if it were there team. And baseball teams have done infinitely worse things and gotten 5% of the hate out of it that the Astros have. Like has been mentioned, Odor's little brother sexually assaulting 16 year old boys. You're jealous, that's the extent of it. We all know you admit it to yourself, just not anyone else. Frankly I don't really care, just think it's dumb as shit we are still talking about something that was 5 years ago like it had anything but a negative effect on the Astros. Oh, and btw, they are still kicking ass despite that. Also, only an absolute baseball moron doesn't know that most of the league was electronically stealing signs. The Astros definitely did it more advanced and skilled. But if anyone thinks for a second that it worked in the playoff is a real life moron. The Dodgers had 5 different sign sets, the Astros weren't stealing them with any level of accuracy.
  21. Sincere question: Didn't the Rangers ALSO win the division? I mean it's a tie. So I'm assuming they are raising a banner for it next year, right? And I don't really care how anyone chooses to celebrate. Hope they had a great time. Glad they lost the next day.
  22. I searched the thread and couldn't find it, so apologies if this has been asked before I have the Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000. The remote has to come off the wall to work with it pointed at the receiver. Anyone else have this issue? It's mounted about 2 feet above and 1.5 feet forward of the sensor. Been talking back and forth with Bio Bidet. They keep hemming and hawing saying that it's not necessarily meant to work on the wall. That seems like a bunch of BS and a terrible design for something so pricey. I can't just use it in my hand either, has to be pointed at the sensor to work. So after troubleshooting they told me I needed to send it in (I bought in mid July and installed Sept 8), and pay to ship it to them. Seems kind of F'd up. So I finally got them to pay for the shipping but I'm without a bidet for 2 weeks after I ship it. They did send me a new regular seat though. Seems super odd not to just send me a replacement and ship this back to them. And now I have to find a box because I stupidly didn't keep this one. So, my question is: Does anyone else with this model have to take the remote off the wall for it to work?
  23. Can someone explain to me how this works? Sucking intentionally at my job would get me fired, not a contract extension
  24. The catcher has the absolute best view around. They should know something like 99% of the time with 100% certainty that it's a ball or a strike
  25. I don't know what that just was from Framber but holy hell that was filthy
