  1. Sure you can You can, but your potential table setting is fucked. I get wanting a guy to get an extra AB before the shittiest guy gets another, but that's 1 AB, the rest of the ABs I think you want to try and get runners on before the top of the lineup. Obviously you don't put your next best bats down there, but I've always preferred hiding a guy at 6 or 7 than 9
  2. How about go fuck yourself Maybe go get on your jump to conclusion mat again and try being less of a dumbass
  3. There are plenty of people that need their ass kicked. Plenty of men have gotten slapped and earned it. However, no person should put their hands on another person because they got their feelings hurt. Man on man, woman on woman, man on woman or woman on man. But you don't get to hit someone just because you know they shouldn't hit you back because society says so. If you open the violence floor you can't be surprised that you get violence back.
  4. Yeah, I still can't believe the players union agreed to QO costing draft picks. It was a super shrewd move by the owners to fuck the players and keep salaries down. And outside of the elite of the elite guys, that's exactly what's happened this offseason.
  5. Losing draft picks because you sign a FA may be the dumbest thing in baseball, and that's saying something. I get it was put in specifically for the Yankees back when they would just do whatever they want. But with a multi-tier tax it's completely dumb. Compensatory picks are fine and make some sense, losing draft picks is stupid
  6. Firm believer in the philosophy that you don't hit women. I also lose 100% of sympathy for them if they hit/slap first.
  7. It's really remarkable how entitled people on this thread are to "winning". I've lived 40 plus as an active Astros fan. We've been average as an org for most of that. We're having one of the longest sustained runs of greatness any team has ever had and every other comment is bitch ass whining. Clearly not every decision has been perfect, but there are zero hampering contracts on this team that aren't 1-2 years based (Montero/Abreu) and even those were market value (argue with someone else, you're flat wrong if you don't think so). No one keeps a farm system AND sustains winning that isn't one of the 2-3 richest teams in baseball, and even they have struggled with it at times. And oh by the way we were a game away from being in the WS AGAIN last year. Now people think Bregman hasn't lived up to his contract or sucks? Or that the Astros should have resigned Correa or Springer, even with your own eyes seeing they can't stay healthy and have been shells of what they were here since they left? Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.
  8. I think I pay 2.30 a quarter for the chronicle website or something silly like that. I pay $12 for the Athletic. Athletic is much more value but constantly pisses me off with who they hire to cover Houston.
  9. Never from what I can see unless it was before the modern era and I got bored before I found it. https://www.espn.com/mlb/history/nohitters You could likely get it in a 3 year period a few times
  10. My guess is there are a LOT of very, very long term marriages that "succeed" like yours in that we tolerate the differences even if it's annoying and recognize the positives and celebrate them
  11. All put together. I bought the flooring this week and I'll get started on it next week lightly. Only thing left really on the cabinet side is painting the gold on the mirror to match the rest of the room. Flooring is going to be black/gray slate. Eventually the other side will be redone when I get a little more comfortable with the plan and be all black hardware. Kind of hard with the space in the room to get a good picture with good lighting. But this shows it well, just skews the proportions a bit. It's 9 feet long with an 8 foot ceiling

I've kept up with this thread over time and don't remember it being talked about. But has anyone else gone the medical route here in Texas? It was pretty easy and reasonable with the requirements for PTSD/Anxiety.
  13. Damn, Blummer wants Brantley to come home and meet his mom lol
  14. My ex wife? Yes. Her? Nah. I think it agitates her I don't let her do it. She's an awful liar, completely transparent big or small. It's kind of hilarious
  15. When I got married I told my wife that I was very particular about my clothes. Where they go, how they get folded, etc. That I don't mind her doing laundry, but you can't get upset with me if I change something or say something. If you are, just don't do it and we're cool. That took like 3 times to fix. Now my wife isn't allowed to do my laundry. Housekeeper or I do it. Housekeeper does it "wrong" to, so I redo it. But I don't get nasty looks as I redo it like I do from my wife.
  16. I really think Ohtani will be the end of the 10 year deal. I think 5-7 is going to be the norm again sooner than later. The rest of the market suffered, Shohei got his because he is one of one. And even the Dodgers will regret that deal in time. Maybe sooner than later with the betting stuff. Maybe guys like Acuna or Rutschman or the like get them to buy out arbitration years, I could see that. But not the other guys. Guess we'll see.
  17. In other news I got a Festool TS 75 Track Saw on Marketplace this weekend from a guy that either stole it (really don't think so) or inherited it (what it seemed like) for $400. That was a pretty great deal with a track and a broken systainer.
  18. Are you trying to tell me that you didn't build every square inch of your house too? Damn, what is this world coming to haha Looks great though. Finishing is an art in and of itself. My least favorite part of any project. That's what I'm trying the rubio monocoat, hoping it's as easy as they say
  19. I'm still of the belief that Bregman will sign a lower offer hear over a Correa Minnesota style offer. If Bregman is leaving it's to maybe 6-8 teams.
  20. Ahhh the old "if I buy it now it will be cheaper than buying it separate later. And we know I'm going to buy it later if I don't buy it now" haha
  21. Both are on my list. Track saw would get used much more I think for me. But when the domino is needed there isn't an easy substitute. I personally think dowels are a pain in the ass and biscuits are pretty worthless except for line up I don't do a lot of table tops, so track saw would be 1 then domino 2. I'd buy used either way.
