Texas athletes petitioning University to replace "The Eyes of Texas" and to no longer require athletes to sing it
No they don’t. Several of them have, and it’s fallen on deaf ears. Look no further than the Twitter exchange between Chris Brown and Charles Omenihu. My one chief complaint about the 18-22 crowd, and the 15-18 behind them, is they are unwilling to have any dialogue about change. They demand change, but only in the way they see fit. There is no happy medium, no give and take...it’s all or nothing.

Sam the only player to stay for the Eyes
Currently, football and soccer are the only two sports not staying for the eyes. Coincidentally, they are the teams where majority of the “activists” came from. Also coincidentally, they are the two teams that are complete shit shows at the moment.

Jake Smith
My thoughts exactly. It's the fucking OU game, and you sit out with an injured toe? WTF??? And you're supposed to be on the leadership council and a captain...great fucking example you set there.

Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 5)
Ya, if we want a coaching change, I think this time the former players are going to have to push the narrative.

Surly Official 2020 TX vs OU Sucks: 11AM on FOX [FUCK OU]
I wonder if Rattler will be tweeting during halftime, or entering the portal after the game. Or is that only something the giant gaping vaginas do on this team.

Y'all keep bitching about Sam, but clearly our WR corp can't get open. And we can't screen because we are having to keep the RB in to help with the pass rush.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
This right here. The kid wants to play offense, and specifically have some type of RB role. OU has been pushing him and selling him on a role that looks like what the NFL is doing with the RB/WR hybrid role. Lincoln has been very pointed and specific on how he'd be used as an offensive weapon in their offense, and how that translates to the NFL. Contrary to any reports, Herman has not offered him the chance to play on that side of the ball here...he is a defensive recruit, period. Flat out, Herman got his ass whipped in recruiting on this one, which is very sad because Spider2YBanana is correct, the kid's heart is at Texas, his parents are HUGE UT fans, and his GF doesn't play the role in it that all of you wish she did. At the end of the day, the kid is making a business decision based on an NFL future...and can you blame him? An OU offensive player going to the league vs. one from UT, it's night and day really. It's that simple.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
Actually has very little to do with it. OU has been pushing the offense part, and that's where his heart is at. Match that with their recent record of putting offensive players in the league, is it really that hard to imagine this happening?

Kenyatta Watson
Not just Foster...Juwan Mitchell and Overshown were rewarded with starting spots for it.

It's not WR he wants to play...
-
2021 ATH Billy Bowman
Yes, I told y'all mid-July this was a possibility because OU is selling him on being a two-way player. I was essentially laughed off the board and told to GTFO

Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
I wasn't even thinking of Foster directly, although he's a great example. I don't really care if the team wanted him back or not. He didn't get playing time in a game, quit, asked to come back and was rewarded with playing time, and sucked in that allotted time, showing why he wasn't playing in the first place. The key in ALL of that is him getting rewarded with playing time because he quit. That sets a precedent. Who's to say Kenyatta Watson isn't doing the exact same? I was thinking of Juwan Mitchell. Enter the portal but come back to being a starter? What is that telling your program? And I get the backup part, I do. But at some point the head coach has to say that the program is bigger than the player. Sadly, that time has passed. Overshown, I get it, he doesn't have a backup. But he's also known that all along, which makes his handling maddening. The guy chose not to come to campus until the very last minute, even though his team was here and working out. And he wasn't missing because of CoVid, or BLM, or any other social issue...he just did not want to practice. So again, allowing him to just not be here, and then walk into a starting spot, it causes problems.

Ultimately, isn't that the problem though?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
I'm not shocked at all by the portal entries, and will be even less shocked as they continue. The program is in disarray from a culture standpoint, and is being led by someone who has zero control or respect in the locker room. Frankly I'm surprised we haven't had more players leave already. How many players have we had sit out games, threaten to sit out games, enter the transfer portal and return, or skip the first 6 weeks of practice, only to in turn be deemed "stars" on this team? It's so incredibly damaging to culture when that behavior is tolerated, or even rewarded, while those players who continually bust their ass and do what's asked aren't rewarded. What precedent has Herman set in that regard? And he can't walk that back. And people who enter the portal, don't exactly come back happy and bought in. They will always have a chip on their shoulder and will be one foot out the door, no matter what. They'll spend more time looking for excuses to leave, rather than reasons to play. Herman's handling of 3 specific situations have caused permanent damage to the culture. His post-game answer on Saturday about the player counsel needing to fix things won't help him either. As much as I wanted him to succeed here, I think he's done here. The few players left that actually have any respect for him are done at the end of the year.

2020 Texas HS football
His best attribute, prior to the injury, was his running ability. That appears to be gone, he only ran once but also took a handful of sacks. His throwing motion is bad, looked like a 3/4 type delivery in a slinging motion. If you need a 5 yard route passer (slant, hitch, curl) then he's your guy. Beyond that he wasn't great. He completed a couple of long passes, to the same receiver Grayson O'Bara (who has some serious wheels) who just outran the coverage and caught Stowers' chuck and a prayer passes. A real test will be tomorrow against Denton Ryan. If he truly has become pretty immobile, he's in for a rough night. And I doubt the Ryan secondary is going to let O'Bara just blow past them. Bowman on O'Bara could be a great matchup.

2020 Texas HS football
Majority of the time these kids have THC in the vape pen, which results in a "drugs on campus" type of charge. It's not expulsion, it's alternative school. About 50% of the time parents pull their kids out of school to avoid the punishment. Public schools have an agreement where punishments carry over from district to district, so his only option if he's trying to avoid punishment is to go to a private school.

Jimbo 2021: Meemaw's Got a Brand New Bag
My first time seeing this, and I know the “Dat Nguyen’s little brother” guy. He is a college coach at another SEC school. I’ve gotta clown that guy next time I see him.
