  1. Same girl who spends A LOT of time in Austin. Funny how things work out.
  2. Waste of money and resources.
  3. I'm glad Miranda, Shannon and Kaitlyn are coming back, but I''m going to remain skeptical that it'll happen until they officially step on the field. There are still a lot of moving parts and unknowns that have to be answered. All the NCAA did was say they could come back, and gave a year of eligibility back to all spring sports athletes. That's it. Conferences and Schools will be able to decide whether they allow it or not, and before the decision by the NCAA, the Big 12 was not on board with giving eligibility back. SEC and ACC wanted all athletes to get a year, PAC wanted only seniors, and the Big 12 and Big 10 did not want anyone getting a year. Another factor will be the finances. It is up to the school to pay the returning seniors scholarship. Below are the rules the NCAA put in place regarding returning seniors and scholarship money: A returning senior can receive up to the amount they were on in 19/20. They may not receive more. Any scholarship money given to a returning senior will not count against the program limit of 12. If a returning senior transfers, any scholarship money they get from the new school will count against the program limit of 12. Some schools can't pay and some won't pay. With the loss of money each school receives from the NCAA, can't will be a real factor for a lot of schools. And that's assuming college football season happens in the fall. If not, watch out. But here's where it gets real tricky...the scholarship relief is only for next year and the returning seniors. After next year, it's back to 12. So coaches are going to have a decision to make, keep your now Juniors, or keep your 2021 recruits. Unless players on either side start giving up money, something will have to give. So for White, decision will be to keep and pay Lauren Burke, Janae Jefferson, Taylor Ellsworth, Ariana Adams, MK Tedder and Mary Iakopo...or drop them and pick up the 2021 commits Katie Cimusz, Sophia Simpson, Nelia Peraltz and Ashton Maloney. And that decision will have to happen by November. And another layer to that is the coaches may not have the choice, because of scholarship rules and language, if the current Juniors choose to come back their scholarship will be honored. So if all of the current Juniors choose to return, there may not be an money for 2021's. And lastly, the Freshman class for 20/21 will now be 10. The four from this season (Popelka, Marder, Corona and Green) will be FR again and you're now adding Ratcliff, Smith, Washington, Whitaker, White and Williams.
  4. Saw on Twitter that KWash is coming back. Great news!
  5. The plan right now is for it to be the FR coming in, Alyssa Washington. But it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being someone off the transfer portal.
  6. Don't 100% quote me yet on those four, just what I've heard. I think money may end up being a big factor. The only way I can conceivably see this working is the NCAA granting the Seniors another year, but on their own dime. I think that will eliminate a majority of Seniors wanting to come back, and not just here.
  7. Don't blame West Virginia...they are just using their moonshine as a cure all, and it's working.
  8. Rhodes is coming back, I don't think the other four are (Washington, Hathaway, Slack, Dermargosian)
  9. That middle post by CarolinaAg...wtf? It’s almost like September 10, 2005 never happened. Dumbfuck aggy
  10. I'd be all for Akina coming back, IF we set him up with a young protege for him to mentor for the future. Pick any of his former UT players and let Akina teach him how to coach. Then in a year or two, pass the torch.
  11. I posted about this a while ago. Naivar and Washington shouldn't necessarily get a "free pass", but I don't think they should be getting hammered as hard as they are either. I had someone tell me that the defense spent about 90% of their practice time working on nothing but blitzes. The defensive assistants often asked for position work time and were rarely granted it. Orlando did not put any time and effort into player development, he solely cared about his scheme. I'm not overly surprised that our players looked "coached up" last night.
  12. I remember hearing on one of the podcasts that Ash wasn't allowed to do any on-field coaching until after the bowl. He could do meetings and film, but that's it.
  13. Just showed everyone why Orland was a shitty coach and had to go.
  14. I apologize in advance, and I'm sure I missed it somewhere, but why is Brandon Jones not playing tonight?
  15. Sorry, but this x 1000. Cut from the same mold as CJ in terms of durability and desire.
  16. CJ will be why the “soft” label returns to UT draftees (assuming it ever left)
  17. Check post #185 above to see why it's time for CJ to move on.
  18. 104.9 said he won't coach the bowl game, but will be involved in game prep. Given that he was already an analyst, I'm guessing he's already been working some.
  19. My thoughts exactly. What do you think he spent more time on, hiring coaches or designing shoes?
  20. It certainly is when no one wants to work for you and your program is being referred to as the “Titanic” amongst high school football coaches.
  21. Don't kill the messenger. But yes, Texas is looking to pay for resolution because Beatty is wanted on staff.
  22. Haha, all that with no glory for himself...that's not Mensa-level.
  23. Reverse psychology...he's going to make it so he HAS to call plays and becomes our savior. Now that's some Mensa level shit right there.
  24. I haven't talked to anyone in a few days, so not a clue on how the Ash hire has been received. Mensa and control of the offense is a fact. In public he keeps saying he wants someone to take over, but privately that's not the case. Offense is his baby. At this point he'd be better off owning up to it and just taking over. Herman wants Beatty on staff officially, but that can't happen until the Kansas stuff is done. One way to do that is just pay Kansas the money and cut the ties, making Beatty available. Texas is looking into that option. I've heard nothing on Major, that was just speculation. But I think that's where we are trending with this. He is available, he runs Tom's offense, has worked with Tom, etc. It'll be another comfort hire that'll give ol' Mensa the warm fuzzies, while not threatening his "smartest person in the room" schtick since he's already worked with Major before. I will add, personally, that I also don't like his current attitude on the recruiting trail. I mean seriously, what the f*** with telling recruits not to worry about position coaches because they likely won't be there for a players entire career. Yes, that may be true, but I would think trying to make a recruit feel at ease about that would be because those coaches are moving onward and upward. Our current situation with coaches does not trend that direction. Seriously, Mensa Tom is left holding his d*** in one hand, and in the other he's selling a player to a program where position coaches are just pawns, more or less. I am truly baffled by this guy.
  25. Mensa Tom would not give up control of the offense, so Harrell said no thanks. It's really that simple. Applewhite will be the OC...he's the perfect mouthpiece for Tom. At this point I'm wondering if Applewhite is trying to set a record for the number of times someone can be hired/fired/let go from one university. Beatty is very much in play for a coaching position, Texas is working on just buying out his Kansas contract.
