  1. Yes, of course, excellent idea and we'll have plenty of mayo wherever this goes down.
  2. After this shit year, and this utterly amazing fiasco of a thread, if we don't get Urban, I may move to one of these fuckhole towns we are discussing and start running meth & shine with the locals. Unlike the neighboring trailers, there'll be no satellite dish or dial-up interwebs, so I won't have to suffer through losses to TCUs, narrow wins over your Techs, demoralizing OU games, 11 o'clockers on Fox, LHB not playing, decommits, opt outs, etc.
  3. Actually, those aren't south of Nac, but scary nonetheless.
  4. I'll agree that there are shittier places than Corsicana and someone above was right about the bakery at least having clean bathrooms, but it's not good when your big selling points are fruit cake, clean bathrooms and a HEB. There are way crappier places between Waco and Tyler, namely Brownsboro, Kerens, Malakoff, etc...all bad. That said, Waco is still the absolute fucking worst.
  5. Has the Palace decided whether this Larry character knows shit or not?
  6. It may not be on most of your lists of worst towns in Texas, but I f'in despise Waco. Primarily because of tired-ass Baylor, but it sucks balls on many levels. I hate driving through that rapey, hypocritical, Fixer Upper silo shithole. It's the Palace of Tiredness. I feel better now.
  7. Help...someone please provide a quick updated synopsis of the overnight goodness, so I don't get a massive roid from sitting here (you know where) scrolling through the madness for an hour...please. Flights, Ram/Slick/Apple Rock, burning couches, cysts, fisting, curtains, etc.
  8. I know that's not happening, but it would be bad ass.
  9. Correct, and the Fox coverage of our games has been f'in horrendous. Now, back to Urbs saga.
  10. I searched for a minute and I'm not finding clear discussion concerning a 12/1 date, but probably because I didn't try hard enough. Where was this covered and definitively debunked? I ask because I heard from someone (secondhand, but allegedly from a big knocker in Dallas) that 12/1 was the CTH axe date because there was some kind of payment reduction event that occurred then. Curious, since this Larry guy is tweeting the same shit now.
  11. SIAP...it's really good. Yes, the primary subject is chess, but we are hooked nonetheless.
  12. Great story and appreciate the fact that Herman stuck with him/gave him the opportunity to turn it around. Sounds like a good kid who just f'd up and then worked hard to make it right. Dude has been nails so far and obviously hoping he has a monster year.
  13. I may have missed it but, under this 50% scenario, how will student seating work? We're not talking about the entire crowd being the 50% group of tired old season ticket holders like me? I've thought all along that the students need to be there, if we're really going to have people at these games. They make the atmosphere, when the scene in DKR is best, plus my youngest will be down there now and I'd rather him go than me. I guess I'll hang on for now, especially since he may need them.
  14. With kids in mind, but all really good regardless of age: Jazz - Preservation Hall Good burger - Company Burger Breakfast - District Donuts Dinner - Jacques Imo's, Pizza Delicious, High Hat - Peche would be fine/fun with kids as well, as long as they're semi-adventurous eaters
  15. I understand what you mean about Commander's. It's damn good and I enjoy the atmosphere, but I have to walk back my "last place before dead in a ditch" call above. I was there a few weeks ago and, while CP was very good (as always), everyone in our group thought our meal at Upperline the day before was markedly better. I've been to Upperline several times, but it had been a while and I forgot how strong it is. Everything was excellent so, if you haven't been, put it on your list. Also, instead of the usual Domelise's/Parkway/Casamento's for lunch, we tried Turkey and the Wolf. Different, but would definitely go back.
  16. Only watched the first couple of minutes but...I gosh.
  17. You have the drink/bar question covered and I can't really add to your list. Lots of other bars I like, but can't think of another with a strong drink association. I'm thirsty now. As for the last NOLA meal, that's a tough one, for obvious reasons. But, pre-ditch, I guess I'd have to go with Commander's or Upperline.
  18. Also, Buxton Hall BBQ was pretty good.
  19. We also went a couple of summers ago. Cool town, especially if you're a beer person. Things I remember that are worth checking out: Our best meals were Rhubarb and Curate Biltmore - worth seeing Mt. Pisgah Trail - good hike We stayed at the Indigo. Good location & reasonable.
  20. Don't know about next season, but those glasses are cool. Want.
  21. If it's Angelo Brocato (would surprise me if they were at the airport though, because it's old school), definitely go to the original near City Park. We love that friggin place.
  22. Solid lineup. LPG has risen up my list. Great food, pretty damn good value (lower corkage fee than some as well) and good location for us. Try the turtle bolognese, if you've never had it there...unusual, but tasty. Also, love Shaya and it is close to where we stay as well (since right by LPG). Want to try Saba, but not been yet So many good Uptown options we love...LPG, Shaya, Upperline, Casamento's, Coquette, Patois, and on and on. Ready for a NOLA trip now.
