  1. Why we didn’t run it down UW’s fucking throats I will never understand.
  2. I'm not expecting Marvin Harrison Jr., to give up being a Top 3 pick in the NFL draft because he wants to win a college national championship before he goes to the NFL and figures UT is his best chance so he portals here so maybe it's that.
  3. I think you are thinking of this guy.
  4. I am dealing with this loss pretty well since I have realistic expectations for the future as I see us winning at least 6 of the next 7 national championships so I have that to look forward to.
  5. Professional refs like the NFL has? That doesn't work so well either.
  6. The "fade" at the goal line is the dumbest call you can make, and Sark should have never called that. As a Pats fan, I have watched Tom Brady throw the fade to Gronk for years and even with two of the greatest ever, it is a dumb call because it works at such a low percentage. There is an old article on ESPN that talks about the low stats of completing a fade route in the end zone versus all other throws. So long, goal-line fade - Why one of the NFL's least efficient passing plays is disappearing - ESPN
  7. I agree with a lot of this, and it seemed like the football gods actually threw us a bone in this game and we fucked it up at the end. It definitely exceeds 2001 because we would have gotten rolled by Miami in 2001 if we did win. That Miami team was one of the most talented teams in college football history. If we win last night, I think we match up very well with Michigan. Unfortunately, Washington or Oregon would have been the worst match ups for us because our secondary is so bad, and those teams can throw the ball really well and it played out that way last night. It was a team loss last night with almost everyone screwing up just a little bit at different times. You add up the mistakes by Sark, Ewers, fumbles, penalties (the refs did screw us also) and how good Penix and their WR's were it was a miracle we had a chance to win.
  8. Got a call from the local liquor store that I was one of the allocated winners. The best thing left was a Thomas H. Handy Rye. I don’t usually drink Rye but any idea if this is good stuff? I never win these things so when I finally did I was hoping for any of the other antique collection stuff or even Pappy.
  9. If you burned those down would anybody really know the difference.
  10. I think my wife booked dinner at some Thai place Christmas Eve using the Fork app at La Brasserie Thai which I think has good reviews. I just don’t want to be eating a Le Big Mac at the Paris McDonalds.
  11. Your advice is too late. Wife already booked Versailles and a trip to Brussels since my kid really wants to go. For restaurants something cheaper as my family doesn’t need to eat fancy. Trying to find something open on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.
  12. I would take all 8 slices and throw them in the trash. Then find a real Italian place that makes a good NY style pizza and order one of those. Then proceed to eat the entire pie until you throw up later that night.
  13. Bumping this thread as I am deciding to take the family (wife and son) to Paris for 6 days this Christmas. I believe the weather could suck and be cold but not sure if walking around Paris at the end of December will be a miserable idea or not. Could use some recs on where to stay, what to do, where to eat as for some reason Paris is one of the cities I have never been to. We plan on landing in Paris on the Friday before Christmas and leaving on the Thursday after Christmas. My son really wants to take the high-speed train to Brussels for a day trip but not sure if we will or not. Also, want to do a day trip out to Versailles. Eifel tower tours to the top are already booked so not sure if it's worth waiting in line the day of for that. We also plan on doing the Louvre. Looking at an Air BnB in the 2nd Arr (whatever that is) near Les Halles (whatever that is). Anyone know if this area is a good place as a base for the first time in Paris? Lastly, what to do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Does Paris close down with nothing to do or restaurants to eat at? What else am I missing or any other recs for stuff to not miss or places to eat would be much appreciated. Need to have a nice vacation before coming back to watch the Horns beat the shit out of Washington in the Sugar Bowl.
  14. I’m on the shitter right now after eating some bad enchiladas so I can relate to this post.
  15. Yes, yes that is an issue and why he needs to be upgraded over via the portal most likely. Sadly, you are correct in he is probably one of the two best on the roster which kind of baffles me.
  16. Was Taaffe one of them because to get that defense elite he needs to not play anymore or only in garbage time. I know he has gotten some INT’s but man his missed tackles and bad angles hurt more than help. Someone better paired with Williams would help a lot on the back end of that defense.
  17. If 4 or 5 of those players portal to UT and we win a championship next year does A&M get to hang a banner at their stadium since ex Aggies helped win a title?
  18. All this Stewart to the portal talk is great but who on that A&M defense is a possibility to portal and come to UT? I would love some of those veteran DL they have or a veteran safety but not sure if those are realistic possibilities.
  19. I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Ohio State plays a really close game at Michigan and barely loses, the asshat pundits will be saying both are two of the best teams in college football and both deserve to be in the playoffs. Same could be said for a Bama close victory over Georgia. You will suddenly hear, both deserve to be in. Look at the great game we just watched and UGA and Bama are definitely two of the top 4 teams. Not saying it’s right but the committee has screwed this up before so why stop now. I figure a Final Four of Michigan, Bama, UGA and Ohio State is what some folks would argue for. Oh, and Oregon is beating up on a bunch of bad teams and has only played one good team, Washington, and lost that one. I find it interesting that the committee would throw out head to head (UT versus Bama) and SOS (UT versus Oregon) and just go with the eye test. It wouldn’t shock me but it’s fucked up.
  20. Fixed that for ya
  21. Like the clear hold Philly got away to score their only TD? I didn’t say they don’t make bad calls against both teams and I could give two shits who wins this game but when a DL blows through the middle heading to the QB and the OL tackles him from behind and the ref is standing there the ref is either incompetent or doing it on purpose. Actually, as I type this Kelce just scored on an illegal pick which should have been Offensive pass interference.
  22. Nice tackle of the defender by the OL with no holding call right in front of the ref allowing Mahomes to scramble. It’s like Big 12 officials calling a game against UT.
  23. I was listening to ESPNU radio this afternoon and not sure who the two hosts talking were but a caller called in saying there is no way Bama should go over UT if they both win out. The two hosts went on and on about how head to head really doesn’t matter and it’s all about the eye test and Bama is now better than UT. It amazes me that over the last 10 plus years any narrative to fit Bama going to the playoffs or title game seems to be in play. I sure hope that scenario doesn’t happen this way because I will lose my shit.
