Yeah, I couldn't find anything longer than 115in (9.5 ft) for roller. TBH anything longer probably not practical for roller.  If only needing a couple feet drop as well they would be overkill price/use wise.

I'd consider maybe just going with drapes that you can pull shut as needed. It's going to be much cheaper and easier for the couple hours your thinking, plus would offer noise/privacy at other times as needed for those sides.

Had that thought, too. We could either do full length like your picture or even just little short ones (might look weird? Question for the wife.). With a 13 foot span I'd probably have to support them in the middle.

Other thought I had was some sort of hanging (fake?) plant situation.

Also, the little hand in your screenshot is fucking me up. I was like why won't my mouse move??

  2. We have an outdoor patio. This picture is facing approximately west, so we get a couple hours in the afternoon/evening when the sun is blazing between the roof and the fence.

Would like to buy some shades. I was thinking the roll type, but I’m having trouble sourcing some wide enough. The distance between posts is about 13 feet. Only need them to be about 2-3 feet long. What other options are there that I should look at?

I’ll be curious to see what happens. I don’t feel Arch is who’s gonna affect this class’s QB.  In reality, Arch will be our starter for the 2025 season (and for some of this year when Quinn has his inevitable few games) and then he’ll be out (if it all plays out the best way it can).  I think this QB will come down to how Sark sees Owens.  He looked great in his minutes during the spring game and I think the dude is gonna be a gamer.  Will KJ stick and come battle with Owens for that spot? Or go somewhere he’ll have a clear path?

We'll be in a very interesting position for 2026 if Arch plays well and leaves after '25. The options would be inexperienced RS-SO Owens, RS-FR Lacey, and a true freshman. Wouldn't surprise me to see us go out and get a 1-year portal rental for that year unless Owens or Lacey are well ahead of schedule. A program like Texas will be expected to reload every year in the NIL/portal era. Sark isn't going to waste a year with an underdeveloped QB throwing to the likes of Ryan Wingo and (fingers crossed) Dakorien Moore.

I don't think Owens will or should worry Lacey. That's about as clear a path as he'll get at any major program.

  4. I think Charley Crockett is fucking great, and I'm not really a country music aficionado. Related? I dunno.

I don't see how anyone could listen to Just a Clown and not get a smile on their face. He writes some great songs, IMO.

I do agree that he kind of comes across as playing a character and it can occasionally veer towards inauthenticity (is that a word?). Playing it up too much about being related to Davey Crockett, etc.

That's what I use. The pay to play version. It's fast, but there are a goodly number of web pages that kick back when in use. Banking is one of them. I've found if I switch to a US first link it works or short term turn it off. Happy to learn of work arounds others might know for this issue, since this now seems to be the VPN thread.

Interesting. I've never used a VPN so I wasn't aware that some websites kick you back. Is that just a Proton thing or does it happen with all of them? Wouldn't be a big deal for me in any case, I just plan to use it for MLB.tv and, uh, websites that Ken Paxton doesn't want me to visit.

Been thinking about switching to (paid) Proton from Gmail anyway. Needing a VPN too might be the catalyst to finally do it.

    Any suggestions?

We just finished watching through Hilda and it's very good. The Nimona movie that just came out on Netflix is really solid.

I think my favorite thing I've watched with my kids has been City of Ghosts. In a lot of ways, it's the antithesis of Bluey (I think Bluey is great). There's no mayhem or belly laughs. It's quiet and contemplative but also really unique and captivating. Unfortunately it only got 6 episodes.

  7. So what does the bike do if you don’t pay the monthly fee? My wife can’t ride for the foreseeable future, so I’m basically paying $5-$10 a ride for myself given how often I use it. If I can still get my output and shit while I watch Netflix on my phone, that’s enough for me. Thinking about cancelling.

Also, in the spirit of Surly, if you like to watch big titties jiggle while you exercise, Emma Lovewell 4/11/24 20 minute EDM. Or so I’ve heard.

The Smith blurb is a good example of how the Kool-Aid gets flowing during the spring and it’s a good idea to always read these things with a critical eye. He may be Einstein, but the fact is he’ll need to add 30 pounds of muscle without losing athleticism to be a credible SEC linebacker. The report completely trivializes that with a simple “once he gets his body right” as if it’s a foregone conclusion. Personally, I’d wager that it’s more unlikely than likely.

Bluey is great, but I strongly disagree with the argument that it’s somehow unique in kids entertainment. There’s plenty of high quality stuff being made for kids by very talented people, it’s just not as popular as Bluey.
