  1. Georgia without any pressure on Vol QB.
  2. You are just intimidated by Fraulein Forehand.
  3. Looks like the OP's point, albeit quite naive to put it mildly, is to rank the teams based purely what they have done in the first couple of weeks. So, here is the list for you. Criteria: (i) Win-loss record rules regardless of the opponent because the ranking of the opponent is meaningless (ii) if the record is the same, then margin of victory matters because big wins are better than little wins and (iii) if still tied, then offense matters because both offense and defense can score points. There are 54 undefeated teams and here is the week 2 BLIND (Beautiful List of Independent and Neutral Dumdums) poll. Congratulations, Texas Tech is number 2!
  4. Steffi Graf was a monk compared to Monica Seles, both visually and aurally. Graf was such a no nonsense player, immediately walking over to the baseline for the next point as if she can’t wait to get the game finished.
  5. We went for 4th down down 14 and UM kicked FGs instead. Hmmm…
  6. Why did they give the OU QB 2 extra yards when he clearly gave himself up.
  7. Haynes King is the ideal QB for Klien's offense.
  8. AI is just a data analyzing and ready-to-please robot with a human interface. Similar to guns, poisons or cliff edges, it has its usefulness and it can also lead to deadly outcomes. And similar to guns, poisons or cliff edges, it needs locks, tamper-proof bottles and railings. Many of these were developed through government regulations and oversight organizations, which is non-existent for AI. Even though big tech has repeatedly sounded alarm bells on this topic, it would be foolish to expect profit-driven companies to unilaterally take action. They will constantly push the boundaries until there are clear guidelines.
  9. Getting the discussion back on topic, I think the phrase “exception proves the rule” may also be considered in its inverse form “every rule has an exception”, which is probably the source of the colloquial usage. I am sure our plethora of lawyers would agree since their livelihood depends on finding the exceptions (loopholes) to any rule that the judicial system tries to circumscribe them with. After all, their blood-drenched clients don’t happily pay them for following the law.
  10. Yeah, Michigan game is not a good comparison because they had no QB. Their starter was lost and the replacement was not much better, and by that time the game was over. It was like us with Card at Arkansas.
  11. We know how to beat a topic to death. There is not much difference between the two (except that the ball spins the other way for Simms). Here is all the games each has played. The passing stats are about the same and neither one is a runner except that Simms was decent at QB sneak at the goal line. Here is a breakdown of Applewhite's career, not just as a starter. Pretty mixed record. And the same for Simms. Similar mixed performance. Not much to distinguish between the two, and certainly not enough difference to form two rival camps.
  12. Yes, they are at the bottom now but they, being Stanford with their resources, location and athletic history, should be better than BC, Syracuse, Duke, WF and Virginia. With some NIL, they should solidly be in the next tier among Pitt, GaTech, Cal and VaTech. I am thinking the top teams and main NIL players in ACC are Clemson, SMU, FSU, UNC, NCState, Miami and Louisville.
  13. Stanford doesn't have to go all out on NIL; the vast majority of CFB doesn't. They just have to beat the lower half of ACC, a simpler task than the bottom half of Pac12, to get back on track. Their main problem is that they don't care much for football. They should hope that Andrew Luck is the Chris Beard type who can sell the promise and fill the stands. Once they are 7-5/8-4, they can target what they need through NIL.
  14. A flower vase and a glass helmet? Someone shopping at dollar general?
  15. They were running downhill very well. What's with this sideways running?
  16. yes. I should have said defensive backs.
  17. ISU's backfield has been poor the whole game. If KSU QB was slightly better in his throws, they would be way ahead.
  18. I could see that coming a mile away.
  19. they are not bringing the chains anymore?
  20. These teams should be used to playing in wet conditions; dropped passes, fumbles.
  21. Was that fansville QB slide referring to Ewers?
  22. This is how algebra was done before the introduction of variables (x, y, z, etc)
  23. Army is #17 in top 2.
  24. For the top-ranking dominance, here is the top 5 vs top 2 plot. Again, very good overlap with 21 teams being in at least one top 20 list. Texas A&M and Washington drop out and Army joins as the #20 in top 2 and #23 in top 5 (they are #60 in top 25). The top 3 really stand out here and the 5 of the remaining top 8 (blue bloods) are close to more recent top teams such as Miami and FSU.
  25. Made a mistake in the second plot. A few labeling errors. Here is the corrected one.
