  1. We were saying the same regarding humidity or lack thereof. We drove to Mission Concepcion, and saw some of those electric assist bikes there, so decided we’d rent some and ride down and back to the next closest mission. Whatever it got up to yesterday, it wasn’t bad at all relative to what it would been like in Houston. I wouldn’t have been able to convince my wife to do that in Houston’s humidity.
  2. If you went past post #1 you made a mistake
  3. We can’t for a lot of reasons, but I personally wish I could GTFO Houston for San Antonio. I don’t even dislike Houston, but I think SA is my favorite city in Texas. It’s for sure becoming our quick driveable getaway/long weekend location.
  4. $300 for the two of us after tip. I had a cocktail and a glass of wine, my wife didn’t have anything to drink. Thank god she didn’t or we would’ve ordered a bottle of wine and made it closer to $400
  5. Ended up at Bohanan’s for our 10 year anniversary to “blow it out”, as someone suggested up thread. What an incredible meal, from setting to service to food, just an all around great experience. We both have a bit of “vacation stomach” right now so we didn’t even do a bottle of wine but even still that was an impressive price tag… worth it, but dayum!
  6. On the Chinese-ish food trend, teriyaki chicken.
  7. I mixed cream cheese with the sundried tomato pesto after consulting my dad (the OG maker of this sandwich) and good God it cranked this sumbitch up to 11.
  8. I doubt arch is going to be as much of a check down Charlie as Quinn was though.
  9. I used to have to drive to spring every day - 45 is a death trap.
  10. Did a little day trip to Galveston for Mother’s Day, and packed some sandwiches for lunch. Mayo, turkey, ham, bacon, harvarti, onion, lettuce, and sun dried tomato pesto.
  11. The fact that you went to atm blows my mind every time I see your posts, regardless of topic 😂
  12. Feels like it’s been covered pretty well but avoid the bbq you listed, just uber to truth or Pinkertons if you don’t have a car and want great bbq. Pit room is good but Pinkertons/Truth are great, IMO. Betelgeuse Betelgeuse is nearby and although I haven’t been I hear they have good pizza.
  13. All that tomato talk got my juices flowing. I normally dislike olives and capers, but I love making snapper Veracruz. My wife bought some risotto thing from HEB to go along with it.
  14. Breaking up the tomato circle jerk to once again confirm the brisket queso goes hard as fuck.
  15. Recipes? That looks damn good.
  16. Quite the conundrum Tigersnake’s got himself in here. He assuredly saved his family’s gathering and made everyone happy while putting minimal stress on himself…and let’s be honest, the first few briskets you do, especially if you’re cooking them for other people, are stressful as hell. But boy did he sure blow it with his internet friends.
  17. Watching without sound, what just happened there?
  18. Damn, I didn’t even think about city market. Coming back to Houston up the coast but I will need make that a stop when I go to San Antonio next month.
  19. Had to travel from Houston to Laredo today and was very disappointed to learn that Burnt Bean is only open Thu-Sun.
  20. Thank god the cheese pics are done
  21. i saw this and another short video where he was actually applying his s&p and it really put into perspective how much I was under seasoning
  22. Season with more salt and pepper than you think you’d need - something i learned recently that helps a lot. This is a ballsy move on a first brisket, good luck!
  23. Where are yall going in Houston? Everywhere still seems pretty expensive
  24. Okay helo
