  1. Stopped in a random small town store today while driving between offices and picked up a Bookers and Stagg Jr at retail pricing. They had several decent options, but most were retail plus something which I wasn’t paying in a storefront.
  2. Saw this on another site. There are a couple of other videos of Perry’s hangar. It is pretty damn impressive. Been thinking about getting into planes, but this is a whole different level.
  3. It’s amazing sometimes the enormous impact of simple decisions in life. If Miller would have gone back earlier to get him when Miles texted, if Miles would have said fuck it and texted someone else for a ride when Miller wouldn’t come back, if Miller would have put the gun up and said you can get it later, etc, it all plays out so much differently.
  4. My first thought on this was that if someone I knew was riding with me and left their gun in my vehicle and texted me to run it back by to them I probably would. The texts kind of blow that thought process up though, because that clearly is not a “hey, I left my gun in your backseat…” text. It’s a shit’s about to go down text. That makes him an accomplice in my opinion, since he hand delivered it back to him.
  5. Market value at the settlement date which would also be used for his taxable income on the settlement.
  6. I still prefer to buy local from people/clients I know. Even on trucks, I’ve just built it the way I want it and if he doesn’t have something coming in then he goes and gets it and trades vehicles. I’m always in and out in 10-15 minutes, so the dealership experience has been fine and the service during and after has been what keeps me going back. If there is an issue with a vehicle, he has it picked up and a loaner dropped off no questions asked.
  7. This thing is much, much smaller than I expected. That’s been good and bad. It’s actually pretty fun to drive losing 5 feet of wheelbase and 7 feet of length. I can turn into parking spots without a 12 point turn, get in the garage without folding the mirrors, etc. However, riding with someone you’re going to rub elbows and forget about riding in the back. May also need my aviation headphones if you want to carry on a conversation on the interstate. I think they’ve started a pool at work on the O/U on how quickly I show back up with a truck. Still trying to settle on lift and tires, think I’m going to just go with 2-3 inch and 35’s to get rid of the dinky tire look it currently has.
  8. It sucks to read this kind of stuff. It’s weird thinking with several posters that I’ve “known you from the internet” for a long ass time at this point. Everyone is starting to get to the point where age and the issues around it catch up. We’ll be sending positive thoughts your way and the way of everyone else here going through their own issues. Wife went in for some routine chest X-rays recently and has a mass in her lung. Doctor does not think it is cancer after preliminary testing, but it does appear to have grown rapidly which has him uncertain. Go in for pet scan soon to find out for sure and then she’s looking at least at a partial lung removal of the bottom half of her lung due to the size of it assuming it’s not cancer. Weird to be sitting at 43 having these conversations with your teenage kids, but that’s life I guess.
  9. Grabbed a barrel strength private select toasted today on someone else’s recommendation and another barrel strength private select today since the shelf had emptied. They were mixed in with the regular bottles.
  10. There were 7-8 on the shelf, does that mean I should go back and buy the rest of them to get ahead of the coming shortage?
  11. Picked up a Bardstown Founders and a Penelope Barrell Strength PS today to try something different.
  12. Why not spec with Sasquatch? Buddy owns a tire shop, so I can get what I want through him. Plus, when I ordered it 18 months ago, I was ordering it to leave at the house at the beach to use when we were down there. I wanted cheap (relatively speaking) with a spray out interior for sand and whatever else we got into with very limited options. I was going to leave it as it came. We sold the house right before the hurricane and have not been able to close on a replacement because of the issues down there right now, so I’m just going to daily drive it for now until we see how things shake out. Plus, I still have no idea what I want as my main vehicle. After putting 200 miles on this one today, I don’t think it is my long-term option for a daily driver.
  13. Going to look at tires and lifts tomorrow. That will definitely make me feel better. These dinky tires don’t look right on it even though the BD has a pretty aggressive tire on it.
  14. Picked up the new Bronco and am now officially without a truck for the first time in 25 years. This along with not having a boat is a strange feeling. It’s a little bit of a shock dropping from a Platinum 250 to a spray out interior 2 door Black Diamond. Going to look at older diesels and see what I can find for a weekend hauler.
  15. Looks like it showed up at the dealer today. Going to start looking at options to see what all is out there at this point.
  16. No inventory of any of those on lots which I would assume would be consistent in other areas but might not. A ways from you guys, TN.
  17. Opened a 2021 Coy Hill and a 2018 GTS I’ve had sitting. Not a fan of the Coy Hill, I’m not sure I care anything about having another pour of it. The GTS on the other hand was worth the couple hundred bucks I paid for it before things got stupid.
  18. Also, if you are buying new, the RRS has an 8 month wait according to our dealer. Curious what on that list can actually be bought today. Around here the GM’s are a no, Expedition is a no, RR’s are a no, Escalade is a no, don’t know about the others. Audi’s are on lots, but not on your list.
  19. Always preferred Louis Louis over Red Bar. Serve the same or similar menu without all the people. Great Southern was always good if you go into Seaside and the Donut Hole is the place to go for breakfast. Ultimately, it’s July. Everything will be packed. Hit the beach, go eat off hours, and be prepared for a shit ton of people.
  20. Wife has had several of them, Tahoe, then RRS, then Expedition, now Escalade, and probably going back to the RR it looks like. The new Escalade has been the best one of the bunch for a lot of driving. We put quite a few miles on vehicles and I don’t have any issues taking off in it for 1000 mile trip to the beach. The RR Sport was the most fun to drive. The Expedition was fine, but she never cared for it and it didn’t last long.
  21. Wife decided she wanted to go look at Range Rovers again, since it is about her normal trading timeframe. The dealership we have used in the past has an 18-24 month wait on the new ones with people putting down $5000 non refundable deposits. They have something like 300 vehicles on order between them, the RR Sport, and a few others. That is pretty damn nutty for a niche vehicle. You can drive off in a Defender but that was it. Saved me the trouble of buying one, but there is no telling what she comes up with next.
  22. I’m always entertained by these conspiracies around sports, politics, the news, etc. In this look at me era we live in, I’m sure everyone is keeping it quiet these top down directives. That is a perfectly plausible explanation that seems totally legit. I’m sure refs let things impact their calls, I’m sure the games have gotten too fast for most of them, I’m sure the availability of any angle replay has made their jobs impossible, but the leagues being rigged narrative is stupid. It’s also dumb as hell in game threads. Maybe it’s your bias that drives the narrative in your head.
  23. Got home tonight and noticed my pump making a lot of racket. Awesome, low 20’s tonight, steady freezing rain, and a pump that might be going out. Cleaned everything out, backwashed the filter, and set it to medium speed instead of variable and will hope it holds up. Also ran the heater for a while to get the water temp up just in case. This winter has been brutal on my fairly new pool. During the epic freeze it popped the decking up around one side of the shallow end when water froze under the travertine. It settled to about a .5 inch or less difference in height at this point.
  24. Put me in his camp, I had no idea what it was either when I saw it in the picture. Now I have no idea why it would be on a boat. People and misplaced pop culture references in general are strange.
