  1. If I’m in a cove with low traffic and no waves, I go shorter than normal. 15 is probably cutting it too close with a 10 foot depth, but 20/25 would work fine. I don’t want a lot of extra rope in situations like that.
  2. Watched it, it wasn’t the greatest movie ever but it was nice to get something different. Well worth watching and a bonus to support something other than Marvel. Key definitely likes to use a curse word or two. Also, he must have been looking at the Hope Solo pictures that are out there while he was working on his renderings.
  3. You can also add a minimal life insurance policy with some and the home/auto discount more than covers the cost.
  4. I run all Penn spinning setups currently, have 6 of them. I backfill the spool with mono, then top it off with braid and then use a mono leader. My kids fish them also and we rarely have had any issues with the braid on them. Occasionally you’ll get a knot as the first layer of braid starts to wear so I just cut it back and keep going until the braid layer gets shorter than I want it to be.
  5. Checked ours, it doubled. Escalade, F250, and golf cart (all 3 pretty well brand new) run $800 every 6 months. The 16 year old and her Escape runs $897.
  6. Just prepare for them to go no lube on you. It’s the parents right of passage. Ours doubled when we added our oldest daughter.
  7. Everything I read when researching said gas was superior for baking because of the moisture level in a gas oven. It all depends on what you’re cooking I’m sure but temp control on the higher end units is supposedly better than electric. I don’t like the taste on my gas grill, so I went electric even though I’m sure the oven burns cleaner. We went with a 48 inch range. I would also look at a stand alone cooktop and dual wall ovens if you’re getting down in the smaller range sizes. I prefer that setup which we currently have, but it wasn’t worth the discussion once it was agreed we could go to a 48 inch setup. On the griddle, I wanted the indoor one for pancakes, eggs, other simple things. Plus, I didn’t want the grill insert or the extra burners above 5-6, so griddle it was. Extra burners would be more important if space was an issue.
  8. We have a gas cooktop with a down draft and then electric wall ovens. We are going to a single unit Wolf gas cooktop with a griddle and electric ovens with an overhead vent also. I don’t like the downdraft for the reasons mentioned above plus it is loud compared to overhead. We looked at the gas and electric oven options and decided to go electric for what we use. Prepare to spend a small fortune. Our appliances in our remodel are more than I ever expected to pay.
  9. Kick it’s ass. One of my partners son went through treatments for leukemia. It was a long road but he’s doing extremely well now.
  10. Ballast, they are working on dialing in their wake surfing wake.
  11. Hasn’t rained but 1-2 times since the end of May here, now we need 3 days with no rain to seal everything according to the tile guy this morning. Next 10 days, rain projected 5 out of 10 of those days. Doubt it rains a drop.
  12. What are the odds, lose 3 of 4 closers (2.5 really since Philly was a timeshare) on trade deadline day. That really fucked my limited chances on making some progress.
  13. Just for the record both of those options suck.
  14. If my tile gets sealed this week as planned, furniture can go in and we’re done. TV, hotspot, and mantle all should go in this week also.
  15. Either/or questions apparently can’t be taught to my wife. Even after 20+ years of me trying, she still can’t grasp the concept. Do you want me to put this in the kitchen or living room? Answer:Yes. Do you want pizza or something from home for supper? Answer: No. Am I picking the kids up or are you? Answer: Yes. I’ve had to retrain my brain to remember that she is answering the “or” part with no regard for the first choice. She apparently only processes the last thing heard which doesn’t surprise me. It annoys me to the point of trying not to even ask the question that way, but one still slips out occasionally.
  16. We don’t do a lot of BBQ because we don’t eat much red meat or pork. I use my BGE for whole chicken, Turkey breasts, the occasional pork chop cooked over low heat, chicken wings, etc. They all come out better than the oven. The grill gets used now for just seafood and vegetables (zucchini, squash, cauliflower, corn, etc). I cook more then than inside and rarely do anything that is traditional BBQ. Going to give pizza a shot next and see how that goes.
  17. I’ve never peeled garbanzo beans for hummus, add enough oil to get it smooth. I can’t say anyone has ever noticed or at least no one has said anything.
  18. To be fair those stats are skewed a lot by Hader getting rocked in back to back games 2 weeks ago. His ERA was in the mid 1’s up until he ga e up something like 8 runs in .1 innings.
  19. When I bought mine, it was take it or leave it. They didn’t care either way. It had also been on the lot for a little while and they still didn’t come off $1.
  20. Thanks for the post. We’re staying at the Lotte. Pizza and going to Little Italy are all I’ve heard from my two at this point. They aren’t high end restaurant teenagers so we’ll probably mix in a decent steakhouse, sandwich place, and shoot for smaller, local places after that. We ate at La Grande Boucherie when we were there in May and will probably end up back there I’m sure. Oldest is way over planning so we’re working with her on that. I would imagine we’ll hit the big things (museums, World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty, Central Park) and then go from there. She also has a college tour or two lined up so that will limit her sight seeing as well.
  21. Think you meant @HenryJames ,imo.
  22. Post up where you end up, we're going for 5 nights the first of October. My oldest is planning out her itinerary of all the things she wants to go see/do, so we have to fill in the food choices. We'll hit up pizza once/twice and then go from there.
  23. I need to stay out of this thread, I'm going to end up changing my mind on moving on to some other boat type and just add to the boat stable instead. I could talk wakeboard boats all day. I've had one in the garage for all but a year or so since I turned 20ish. I really screwed my back up last time I got on a skate, so I think I'm officially done with the board sports (I can't get into surfing) which kind of sucks to admit. I thought I could still ride it and not get hurt like on the wakeboard, but I couldn't help myself and got stupid on it. I'm back hunting a bay boat again, so we'll see what's next assuming I can sell this one.
  24. For me, it was my mid/late 90's 205's with bags on either side of the motor, in the bow, and under the back seats. Tight, steep wake that was easy to clear and would absolutely launch you. No electronics, easy to work on, and you could buy them for next to nothing. Kids could eat cheetos, drink koolaid, dogs could jump all over the seats, I never cared what happened with them. I've had multiple mid 90's and never spent more than $15k or so on one. Buddy of mine just bought my X1 I had before buying this Nautique. I told him if he ever got rid of it I got first dibs. That was a great boat that used the early 2000's Xstar hull and did everything great, except surfing which is why I moved up. You had to just about sink it to get the back corner low enough to get a decent curl.
  25. It's all personal preference, there is no way in hell I would own a 26 foot wake boat or even a 24 for that matter. I prefer the more narrow width, the lower freeboard of the smaller boats, and the maneuverability of the smaller boats. If I was deadset on getting a 24/26, personally I would just buy a Cobalt R5/R7 Surf so I could just cruise around comfortably. If chop is a significant concern, the Cobalt will eat it up. For a wakeboard boat, Centurion's have always been the best for choppier conditions in my view at least in the little older hulls. Their deadrises and hull shape are great for chop.
