  1. Finkley was undersized, and we all knew it at the time, but he was a good kid with a good work ethic and he did in fact provide quality depth for us. He played, he just wasn’t going to start with the talent we have at edge. We take 25-30 HS kids every year, they can’t all start. Doesn’t mean they didn’t get developed any.
  2. The 3rd triple crown receiver ever wasn’t even a finalist for the award. And no one cared.
  3. A&M doesn’t have shit else to do. Why would you want to keep them if they suck? Some of y’all just want bodies for the sake of having bodies, none of these guys played. The screw up with DTs happened when these guys were recruited, not when they were let go/bailed.
  4. He’s gotta be going to a major program. Maybe a little closer to home for him.
  5. Alford had a year at USC between his Texas and Arizona State seasons though. He’s the second leading tackler on ASU. Swanson and Dorbah play a little bit, that’s pretty much it.
  6. Very good point. People are moving further south where there’s plenty of space for affordable housing. Red Oak has exploded and they have to be taking some kids from the DeSoto/Cedar Hill southwest Dallas county area.
  7. I wanted Tapp to be better. I enjoyed his recruitment.
  8. It’s hard to nail down a single reason, could be declining birth rates, gentrification, decline in new housing being built, charter schools (this would be my top guess for DeSoto.) Cedar Hill got hit pretty hard too, but they’ve always been a small 6A school, and they still hung on to 6A numbers this cycle. No one got hit harder than DeSoto. Duncanville’s district includes a lot of Dallas (always has) and that might be preventing them from the same fate. They’ve had huge demographic shifts, but not student population loss. The weird thing for me is that Lancaster high school grew, you’d think they’d be in a similar place as DeSoto and Cedar Hill, but they had to move up classifications.
  9. It was clear this DeSoto team wasn’t as good as the last couple of years, especially defensively. But I’m still surprised to see them lose by this much. Absolute demolishing. They would win the D2 title this year imo. This is the weakest 6AD2 bracket I’ve seen in a while.
  10. SOC crushes PNG 56-14 final.
  11. You do this with SOC every year. They’re pretty good.
  12. This is probably the best DT class in the country now. For anyone who follows the mood on this board, that’s pretty hilarious.
  13. Holy shit, I was not expecting this.
  14. 1. Justus Terry is currently favored to go to Georgia, if he does, we won’t have the #1 class anymore, so it does still depend on him. He signs on Friday. 2. We weathered the decommitment storm far better than most of the teams that were ranked near us.
  15. He’s got Oklahoma stuff on his table.
  16. I don’t sweat the QB stuff because I don’t think we would’ve been able to land both Keelon Russell and Dia Bell. But we did land Lacey and Bell. That could easily be (and in my opinion, likely is) the better option.
  17. Not all 4 and 5 stars are equal. Michael Terry and Rickey Stewart are both 4-stars in the composite for us. There are like 380 spots between them in the rankings.
  18. Today went pretty damn well despite all the gnashing of teeth going on.
