  2. Champagne Delamotte is a really great buy. It uses grapes from the same vineyards as Salon in Le Mesnil, at about 10% of the price. Had it for the first time at Eddie V's a few months back and was extremely impressed. Has the complexity of the high end champers at around $50.
  3. My best friend is a die hard Lightning fan. I've seen them play a lot this year. They're a force to be reckoned with.
  4. Ignoring anything else, how many women do you think go through the physical trauma of a full-term pregnancy only to then decide they don't want it? Late term abortions account for only 1.3% of all abortions in the US, which themselves account for about 20% percent of all pregnancies. That means for every 1 million pregnancies in the US, only 2600 end with a late term (after 21 weeks) abortion. It is inconceivable to me that more than 1% of late term abortions in the days leading to full term result because an individual has changed their mind. If you make it to 40 weeks, you want the fucking baby. Period. Most late term abortions would still occur early on in the third trimester when the people without access or knowing they're pregnant (hurray for our stupid fucking public compounded by asinine sex education laws) finally get their shit together. The remainder of them will be for medical complications that arise later on. We're literally talking about *maybe* 2-3 people per million pregnancies. There is simply no credible evidence that has ever been out forth for this ridiculous emphasis by the "pro-lifers" on these procedures. Out of ~6 million pregnancies in the US per year, we're talking about MAYBE 15-20 total cases, and I'd argue that's probably still to high. Maybe one of them lives in VA? Should that be illegal? Sure. Is it a relevant thing to prioritize given the myriad problems we have with people dying? Absolutely not. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  5. I just got back from a couple of weeks in London and Tuscany. Others are spot on with their recommendations for Chianti and Val d'Orcia regions of Tuscany. San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, all just gorgeous. Cannot recommend going in winter enough. The light is permanently perfect and the crowds are minimal.
  6. Please don't skip out on Slovenia. It is the most amazing country in a continent full of amazing countries, but still so comparatively unknown. The Soca Valley is shockingly beautiful. Dinner at Hisa Franko in Kobarid should be on any food lover's bucket list (featured on Chef's Table). Rovinj on the Istrian coast of Croatia is a beautiful town.
  7. I'm inclined to agree with this for now. That statement was very carefully crafted to avoid outright denying the major premise, merely the details. I, too, wonder what their motive was for releasing such a statement.
  8. Wasn't Rose Bowl. Cal didn't care. /s
  9. Hisa Franko in Kobarid, Slovenia. Was on Chef's Table. If Michelin served Slovenia, it would be a 3-star restaurant for sure.

  11. I'll say this, if we shoot 67% from 3 with 15 attempts per game, we'll win a lot of games. I won't hold my breath, but it does seem like the entire team is exorcising some 3 point demons against this poor team.
  12. I've watched Florida a decent amount this year. They are not a Top 10 team. Top 20? Probably, yeah. But this Michigan team has been just exposed the last two games of the season. They just feel like a classic Big 10 team that puts up great numbers defensively in a league without any real explosive offenses (save OSU occasionally). It's hard to see Michigan, in its current form, eclipsing the ceiling they've set the last few years. And I say that as someone who will root for Michigan in the Big 10 whenever it doesn't conflict with Texas.
  13. I actually really like the PxP guy. Unlike, seemingly most other announcers, he actually seems to know what's going on. All of his calls where he's "speculated" were right, which is uncharacteristic of announcers these days.
  14. That guy is a business magnet! Not a magnate. A magnet! Wow. It's not shocking to see the people that were attracted to that school.
  15. That was literally 1 inch. They had to move the chain closer to the ball for the ref to see. It was a pretty chickenshit decision, but I understand Patterson's rationale.
  16. Their running back is averaging 6.5 YPC and this guy is still getting the ball in his hands?!? Shit, Patterson.
  17. Equal. Muehldick has single-handled turned conventional wisdom upside down. Conventional wisdom says that forward passes beyond the line of scrimmage don't count. That's twice he's proved everyone wrong.
  18. Holy shit. I'm glad I tuned in for this one, despite not caring at all about HS football. Great game.
  19. The best overall product flying US to Europe is on Singapore Airlines in Suites. They fly once daily from JFK-FRA (SQ 25/26). Absent that, the easiest product to find is Air France's La Premiere. Followed by Lufthansa First Class and then there's the rest. If you're talking about Business, AA will have all-aisle access, all-lie flat on any of their widebodies, but I'd stick to the 787-9s (DFW-MAD, for example) or the 777s (advantage to the 777-300 (some DFW/LAX/JFK-LHR) but the refurbished -200s are nice, too. The service is hit or miss, and the food won't be as good as some of the other high-end European carriers (AF, Lufty), but it's more than edible. If you're talking about Premium Economy, I just got back from a Beijing trip on AA and flew Premium Economy over there and Business back. Business is, of course, better, but honestly, Premium Economy was more than comfortable for the 14 hours I was on the plane. On a 9 hour flight to Europe, I'd be plenty happy. If you imagine a domestic first class seat, it will be a bit nicer than that (e.g. footrest, more recline), but otherwise comparable. I can't comment on any of the other airlines' premium economy except BA's World Traveler Plus, which I'd rate as comparable. If you're talking about Economy, honestly, it doesn't really matter. Fly what's cheapest, but don't forget about bag fees, fees to select seats, etc. Those costs add up, and often work out to be more in total than if you'd just booked a full service carrier that provides free checked bags. I'd try and avoid any carrier that is 10-across on the 777 (3-4-3 config) or 9-across on the 787 (3-3-3). Delta is still 9-across on the 777, which makes them more or less the winner by default of the US airlines for the 777 flights. Note that with many of the US airlines, they'll let you pick an extra legroom seat for free at the gate, but you'd have to pay for it at any point before then (including at check-in). It's worth knowing which of those seats are unassigned when you head to the airport; it never hurts to ask once you get to the gate. Another thing to pay attention to is people getting upgraded at the gate; chances are, they had better seats than you did (assuming you didn't pay for them) because they get the extra legroom seats for free. At the end of the day, unless you're trying to fly in a premium cabin and experience lounges and the like, just try to get there as cheaply and quickly as possible. You'll likely be happier on United nonstop to London than connecting through Atlanta to fly Delta just to avoid a 10-across 777. You're taking a 9 hour trip and making it 12-13. All that said, Lufthansa has self-pour JW Blue and many other 18+ single malts in their first class lounge at JFK. That was fun.
  20. Score updates would be great! I'm driving around in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. Chizik knows that LSU got jobbed.
  22. LSU is a fraud. I hate that it had to be aggy that exposed them, but they have no business being anywhere near the top 10. Keep in mind, they were quite possibly a Texas win over OU away from making the playoff.
