  1. Jesus Christ, no kidding. Curry, Soon, Lindzen, Pielke Jr, Lomborg, Michaels. That is just flat out embarrassing if the goal was something resembling truth.
  2. My dudes. I've been keto for just over a month now, and while I hate it, I also love it. I've read stories of people who have completely lost their cravings for carbs. I guess I'm not one of them. Every time I eat a burger without a bun, I crave that crunch and taste of a crispy french fry alongside it. But I haven't given in. The restrictions keto has make cheating not an option. It's the only diet I've ever stuck with this long. But I've lost 15 pounds so far (based on my brief plateau, about 10 real weight and 5 water weight), and I feel great. More energy, fewer stomach issues, and just an overall increase in well-being. It's especially hard with all the travel I do, but it's also meant that I'm eating less, and substituting carbs for healthier options like steamed veggies or a salad. All good, healthy tradeoffs regardless of how one feels specifically about keto as a diet. Kudos to all of y'all trying to get healthier! Keep it up.
  3. You think they're working 6 hours on an 8 hour flight to Frankfurt?
  4. Doncic is a more talented basketball player than Dirk. It's not close. What his legacy is and where it compares with Dirk will be dependent on a whole host of things, some of which he individually has little control over. The people responding to Derka are arguing a point he's not making. Luka is the most talented basketball player to come into the NBA since LeBron, and is arguably better than LeBron was at this stage in his career. I don't believe it is a stretch to say if he continues at his current pace he could be talked about in the conversation with some of the all time basketball greats. A lot has to happen for him to maintain that pace, but if he does, he will be a transcendental player.
  5. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? Vote your conscience in the primary, vote for the lesser of two evils in the general if your person doesn't win. It's that simple.
  6. For those still watching LHN, this is the year we finally reached #1 and then unceremoniously lost in the first round to Wake as a #9 seed, right? That was fun.
  7. I know, right?! Giving up almost 80 points to the #1 scoring offense in the nation. What an abysmal performance.
  8. Jesus Christ y'all a buncha whiny fucks. This game thread is embarrassing.
  9. This is the correct answer. You can find them at HEB/Target/most places these days, even though they're Australian. I'm partial to refrigerated Caramel Tim Tams. The Tim Tam Slam is a real thing and you will be happier in life for having done it. Look it up. Arnott's Mint Slices are like a York Peppermint Patty + Thin Mint. Fucking unreal.
  10. Oh for sure. It was my first ever favorite food as a toddler.
  11. Just to follow up on this, we (Republic crew) have been notified what happened with this, and it was a one-off thing that was a seemingly benign issue that had a weird snowball effect. It was an easy fix, and the aircraft is back in service. I'm not trying to be cryptic with it, but since the information hasn't been made public, I don't think it's appropriate for me to go into more details. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to put any one of my family members aboard one of our 170/175s or anyone else's.
  12. What are your favorites? I think I'd have to go with Cover 2's Brick Chicken Mac and Cheese.
  13. I love Hyde Park's fries. Others I like, in no order: -Hopdoddy -Top Notch -Bartlett's -Short Stop
  14. Why should we even wait until the end of the season? If she's putting a terrible product on the court, she shouldn't make it to Big XII play.
  15. American Eagle isn't an airline (anymore), it's a brand. The 175 was operated by Republic Airways, and it was a pitch trim runaway, meaning the plane pitched up uncommanded and couldn't immediately be arrested. It's a scary situation, and the crew did a great job of preventing a disaster. They circled back around and landed in Atlanta. The same thing happened to the plane during a maintenance flight a couple of days later in Indy. The 145 off the runway in ORD was operated by Piedmont.
  16. Some thoughts: -I was pleased we played with the confidence of a winning team. Great team defense. It will keep us in games. -So happy for AJ. What a story. I hope he's just getting started. -Ramey can ball. I like his game. -I don't know if I've ever seen Hepa make a shot. -I think this will be an improved shooting team from last year. Between Jones, Liddell, Williams, and whenever Febres randomly heats up, there's better shooters than we've had. -Offensively, it's still a grind to watch, but we at least seem to be moving the ball a bit better/more creatively. -After a single game, this team looks like it could make the tournament. That doesn't mean they will. I'm just glad Radford isn't on our schedule again.
  17. Who has been to the Udvar-Hazy Center? Anything I need to make sure to see while I'm there?
  18. Yeah, it's a nightmare even in the best of times, but you're absolutely right that landing 22 departing 13 is the least inefficient configuration they have. Ha, I enjoy it. I should add that LGA has two perpendicular intersecting runways, oriented NW/SE (runway 13/31) and SW/NE (runway 4/22). The runway numbers come from the magnetic headings with the trailing zero chopped off. So runway 13/31 is 130/310 degrees. The same strip of pavement is basically two runways because you can use it from each end. Planes like to land and take off into the wind, so on the day I described there was an option to land basically straight into the wind, if we'd landed on runway 13, but the tower was still using 22 for landings, which means we were landing with a direct crosswind (technically, even the slightest bit of tailwind component, but not much).
  19. Winds were 120 degrees at 22 knots gusting to 36 knots. A knot is 1.15 statute miles per hour, so it's basically 25 mph gusting 40. +RA = heavy rain. 2 statute miles visibility. Basically, it was shitty. Really shitty.
  20. We were wondering the same fucking thing. Other planes were getting in so we decided to give it a whirl. Worst case, we go around and take 13. Thankfully it was the captain's leg to fly. He wrestled it all the way down, but did a great job. When we pushed about 90 minutes later, they were landing and departing 13. By the time we took off (35th or so in line) they were back to landing 22. We took off on 13 with winds like 250/10. Nor'easters are fun.
  21. That depends on what you call stunt flying. Landing on 22 at LGA with winds 12022G36 in +RA with 2 sm vis could be considered stunt flying.
  22. Probably not a weather balloon, but almost certainly a Project Loon balloon. They even have ADS-B so you can track them.
  23. I love it. The 175 is a blast to fly.
  24. That might be the best I've ever seen us look, like, ever. 2012 NCG is really the only game that comes close in my mind. Oregon was completely outclassed, just like Baylor. The difference is in the fundamentals. Our serving and serve-receive were both just incredible.
