  1. Once Upon a Time in America will be on Netflix tomorrow.
  2. I meant that Lidge was the last before Giles. Others have been booed because of poor performances, but the boos with Lidge and Giles would start as soon as they were announced. I guess it started getting that way with Gomez too, but I have tried to block out 2016.
  3. Did Lidge get booed when he returned to Houston? He was the last (and only) Astro I remember getting boos while he was playing for the Astros.
  4. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think the homefield woes will be a thing of the past once the playoffs start. The crowds for this season have been great, but the atmosphere for the playoffs is at an entirely different level. And as good as the Astros are at keeping things loose and taking things one game at a time, it is impossible for a defending champion to keep that championship focus over an entire season. Once the playoffs begin, Minute Maid will be a scary place for visiting teams.
  5. ULM is losing at halftime to SE Louisiana 21-16
  6. Boyd also offs a few IIRC.
  7. Please tell me Kubiaggy didn't draft Randy Bullock instead of Justin Tucker.
  8. With off days on the 8th, 13th, and 16th Hinch could decide to go with a 4 man rotation with everyone getting their normal 4 or 5 days of rest. McCullers will be eligible to come back on the 15th, and the Astros wouldn't really need him until the 21st, which is the first time the Astros will play a fifth game in five days. EDIT----Damn, I spent time figuring it out, but McTaggart tweeted it out right before I posted.
  9. Julie Andrews - Mary Poppins, Maria Von Trapp Gregory Peck - Atticus Finch Peter O'Toole - T.E. Lawrence Alec Guinness - Colonel Nicholson
  10. Marlin Brando - Vito Corleone, Terry Malloy Humphrey Bogart - Rick Blaine, Sam Spade, Captain Queeg Jimmy Stewart - Jefferson Smith, George Bailey, Ransom Stoddard William Powell - Nick Charles, Clarence Day Myrna Loy - Nora Charles Clark Gable - Rhett Butler Vivien Leigh - Scarlett O'Hara Harold Russell - Homer Parrish (The Best Years of Our Lives)
  11. I knew the name from the practice fields, but I never knew his story. RIP Mr. Denius
  12. Yeah, but a team claiming him on waivers would have had to pay the full amount if they weren't able to make a deal with the Tigers. So it was actually a $83M decision.
  13. Gotcha. There were 29 games left last year, so the prorated amount of $28M would be $5M. So a team claiming him would have been on the hook for $61M. However, they would have had Verlander for the playoffs and 2 more years. If they had claimed Verlander, neither the Red Sox or the Yankees would have lost to the Astros in the playoffs last year.
  14. The problem with adding a bat now is that they would have to clear waivers. There are a lot of teams in contention that are in a position to block any move the Astros want to make by putting a waiver claim on any bat the Astros would be interested in. Looking back, its a miracle the Astros were able to get Verlander through waivers last year.
  15. Reddick and Gonzalez need to get hot for two months.
  16. Tell that to Bregman. Also tell him that the replay showed that he swung on that pitch he was rung up on in the 9th. I'm sure he will appreciate your input.
  17. Bregman is not denying the ball was interfered with. He says there was no guarantee the ball would have been caught.
  18. Yeah, they could have had a great show with John Amos and Esther Rolle as the parents....but they sold out for DY-NO-MITE.
