  1. For the most part, Americans on the left have too much to lose. We’re educated. We have careers, nest eggs, families, plans for a cozy retirement. We don’t want to lose what we’ve worked so hard to obtain. So we let them take a little bit without pushing back, thinking it’s not worth risking it all. And then they take another little bit. And then another. And then another. And before you know it, everything’s gone. The math of opposition never makes sense at any one step, and we’re too blinded by normalcy bias to see that we’re tumbling down a staircase all the way to the bottom, little bit by little bit. Gov. Newsom’s approach is the right one. Dig your heels in, now. Tell the fascists to fuck off and do not yield. Never settle or cut a deal, because there is no deal to be had. Fight like hell until you win or die trying.
  2. What’s that? Freedom? Never heard of it. Signed, The Freedom Caucus
  3. That’s a great idea to recommend he seek answers from one of the Top 5 stupidest posters on the site.
  4. To be fair, 86% of Wyomingites is only like 37 people.
  5. “Tell you what, Dan. I’ll stand up as soon as the Governor does.”
  6. Yep. My Facebook aunts and uncles think higher education filled our generation’s heads with evil liberal bullshit. But the truth is: my aunts and uncles are fascist country dumbfucks. When we were kids, we suspected as much. College merely helped us confirm it.
  7. Correct. But it’s a damned near 100/0 split on nutcases. So my point still holds.
  8. The nutcases with guns all voted for Trump* and are still in desperate confirmation bias mode. * except for @Brisketexan
  9. Yes. And it doesn’t help that our state generally and our alma mater specifically are growing ever more aligned with the fascists. I feel myself not only less enthused about college football overall, but also less inclined to root for our team. It’s a fucked-up feeling.
  10. Did they shut it down for the shooting or was it just part of the general construction mess up there?
  11. Oh great. AI PBS educational content. “One too three fore five, sicks seven ate nine twelve, unleavened welt!”
  12. It’s going to be interesting when, as promised, all those obnoxious small government constitutional purists exercise their Second Amendment rights to fight tyranny. Correction… *hand to ear, listening intently* I’m being told the small government zealots will instead be joining a boat parade in enthusiastic support of tyranny.
  13. MO SALAH! LA LA LA LA LA! THE EGYPTIAN KING!
  14. Seems pyrrhic at best. “Haha! Israel is discredited in the eyes of the world. And all it cost us was our homes, our lands, and our lives.”
  15. Good grief. The cops stumble onto a gruesome scene of unequivocal evil, and immediately their wheels start spinning in the moral muck of fairytale land. Grow the fuck up, Sheriff.
  16. I was going to make the same joke, and thought “Nah. Nobody will remember that old Big 12 broadcast hilarity.” Glad I was wrong.
  17. I see you are unfamiliar with the concept of Internet Points.
  18. Yeah, my Canadian model girlfriend probably won’t be able to visit now either. Because of the politics. So that’s why y’all have never met her.
  19. Five Or Six Dudes Jump Out Of Nowhere And Just Start Whaling On This One Guy
  20. This. I think we could all stand to feel funkified these days.
  21. International applications are expected to drop significantly. That could increase admissions rates for US students, especially out-of-state applicants (as universities will be looking to recoup the lost revenue).
  22. Or think of it as an action movie or Western or something. No one goes to the theater and thinks it’s weird that the audience is so invested in seeing Luke Skywalker win a choreographed fake fight against a walking cartoon character in a goofy mask.
