  1. So it was a complete setup. The fucking governor has expressed "concern" over this bullshit. I'm sick and tired of people weaponizing religion. Fuck them all. Sky Daddy isn't real!
  2. Yeah, some are better than others, and some are way better than others, but to assume that the remaining staff is completely incapable of running an offense to the extent they'd leave a one loss team out in favor of a 3 loss team (or even two loss team if we're disregarding tOSU) is just wrong IMO. I maintain that UT's chance is in comparison to ND and OU.
  3. Leaving Ole Miss out because of the coaching change would be far more controversial than UT being left out. I didn't agree with undefeated FSU being left out because of a QB injury but at least that is the most important position on the field and it can be reasonably expected to affect their ability to play well and win (although Tua and Gilbert might disagree). I often think people have too magical a view of playcalling, as if it's some magic ability that only a handful of people can do. The staff and players still knows the playbook. I'm not willing to say with any level of certainty that they can't run an offense anymore. The players earned their way into the playoff.
  4. I'm rooting for Duke so that two G5 champs make it which is the definition of chaos lol. Match one with aggy and they might even win. Alternatively, as much as I don't like Tech, I'd root like hell for them to blow out aggy if they got matched.
  5. And if aggy had lost to ND and played even one of the other teams in the top half of the SEC standings they'd be at 3 losses and nobody would care that they played ND, they'd be out. The fact that UT is even still in the discussion with a legitimate outside shot is because of the helmet logo and that's fair. I think the last spot should come down to OU, ND, and UT.
  6. I really don't see schools refusing to schedule tough OOC if Texas is left out this year. You're not being "punished" for playing that game but it is considered that you lost that game. If you had won that game you'd be the top of the 2 loss teams and might even have been able to withstand a third loss to MSU or UK and still make the field. That's the advantage of scheduling those games, if you win, all the "tiebreakers" go your way, and in other years, I think it's going to be pretty rare that the OOC loss we're talking about for a bubble team happens to be the undefeated No. 1 team in the country, even if its tOSU, UM, or ND. To me the bigger outrage that should be the subject of conversation is how, in the world of bloated super conferences, a team like aggy manages to play only one team in conference that finished in the top half of the standings. Like, the odds of that happening would seem low, but it happened in the second year of the expansion to 16 teams. I guess the counter is that it cost them a spot in the CCG since their in conference SOS was the tiebreaker they lost in the 4 way tie, but still, if they had even two more games against the top half of the league, they wouldn't even be in the CFP conversation. The roller coaster would have dropped in October per annual turdition.
  7. I’m betting that some surly sleuths can locate these Instahoes. Get to work fellas!
  8. Am I the only one wondering if “threat” is kind of a stretch here? Sounds like discussing a key fact in negotiations. The staff was going with him either way, the topic was the timing. If the school agreed, they’d all stay for the playoff run, if not they’d be gone right away. I get this guy is a douche but I think the villain caricature is overplayed for drama and clicks.
  9. That looked like my golf swing.
  10. Yeah, that’s creepy af. Imagine Notre Dame asking the Vatican to help pay for football players.
  11. Would he take a G6 job or is he content as OC while waiting for a P4 offer? There are 4 openings in the American for programs that have shown the ability to succeed plus JMU and surely others. Would he be a candidate at Kentucky or BYU?
  12. That doesn't open up any spots though, right? The rule is "the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, plus the next seven highest-ranked schools." So it would be the SEC Champ, BIG Champ, Big XII Champ, then AAC champ (UNT/Tulane), and SBC Champ (JMU). I guess the question is, if Troy somehow beat JMU, do they get in, or do the words "ranked highest by the CFP selection committee" require that the champ be in the Top 25 since that's as high as the CFP poll ranks (Duke would be outside the Top 25 too). I don't see any contingencies if only 4 of the conference champs are ranked in the top 25. I doubt it matters though since JMU will almost certainly roll and are already ranked. (Edit: I was thinking AP poll, if JMU wins though I bet they crack the top 25).
  13. This, which is magnified by the 4-way tie atop the SEC. As of today all 4 are in the playoff. You can't "punish" Bama after they won the tiebreaker which was based on in-conference strength of schedule. "Hey, we're gonna make your SOS even harder by putting you in the CCG, but if you lose, you're out of the playoff while Ole Miss and Aggy with lesser in-conference SOS (the tiebreaker) are in." It not only punishes Bama for having a tougher schedule, it rewards Ole MIss and aggy for lesser in-conference SOS.
  14. There is no way they'd punish a team for making and losing the SEC CG regardless of the margin. Ole Miss and Aggy are in with one conference loss. Bama would be in if they lost the tiebreaker and were resting this weekend. Leaving them out would set an even worse precedent than the UT losing to No. 1 tOSU situation. Maybe if CCG's were officially going to end soon but they are still trying to make those games meaningful and sure af can't let someone be negatively affected especially a blueblood like Bama.
  15. Same position here, I personally want UNT to win and make the playoff. I think the publicity of the announcers praising him and mentioning his move to OSU will outweigh any temporary delays in recruiting, etc.
  16. Bama isn't getting left out, I don't think the CCG runner up in BIG or SEC will ever be left out. With a four-way tie of 1 conference loss teams all of them will get in. I can't imagine any committee saying "congrats Bama you won the tie breaker but you must win or you're out while the teams that lost the tie-breaker get in." I also think ND is in if for no other reason than they made it to the championship game last year which probably means something despite their weak conference schedule this year. So it seems to me that the last spot is down to OU and Texas. I just don't see ND being left out for a sixth SEC team. Being as objective as I can, I'd give the spot to UT. At that point I think it's fair to set aside the tOSU loss and go with the H2H win. It doesn't change the TV ratings analysis because this includes only the Big XII winner, ACC winner, G5 Champ, and 3 BIG schools (tOSU, IU, UO). The only chaos I see is if BYU beats Tech, the committee might find a way to put Tech in removing an SEC spot or ND. If Duke beats UVA, I don't see any discussion about letting UVA in and Miami IMO shouldn't even be considered if they couldn't make their own CCG, especially when a 7-5 team got a spot.
  17. I guess it works if it's an obvious promotion that players and fans should understand, like G5 to P4, or coordinator to HC. I can see the difference when a P4 coach leaves for another job within the conference to a program that is considered a big time rival. Still, considering this is Ole Miss' best shot, I would have swallowed my pride and let him coach the playoff and wish him well. If I were a fan I'd take comfort knowing that there is a decent chance he flames out at LSU.
  18. I found this to be interesting. Looks like we hired Eric Morris' GM who is already working the recruting trail for us while Morris coaches UNT's postseason. Sounds like he's well regarded but young, like mid 20's I think.
  19. I meant to quote the HOE shirt above your post, can’t fix it though.
  20. Any fan who is so mad they’d wear something like this should remove themselves from the gene pool.
  21. Good lord there’s no reason for people to be so goddamn dramatic. Kiffin isn’t a monster for taking what historically is a better job, nor for asking to stay on for the playoff run. Ole Miss isn’t evil for denying the request (I disagree with the decision but I understand it). Ultimately I think Ole Miss administration and fans have an overinflated view of itself and the status of its HC job.
  22. Virginia v. Duke? WTF? Total snooze fest.
  23. SMU center wins dipshit of the year.
  24. Wut? They can’t even play for ACC championship. Looks like SMU blew it anyway.
  25. What does SMU matter to Texas? ACC gets their champ in and that’s it.
