Is this the end of shitty bowl games?
I mean, that's the key to all of it, and why it'll never get "fixed." As long as the schools, conferences, and networks refuse to acknowledge that they are a multi-billion dollar industry and that the players generate that wealth, this is what you get. If you acknowledge that they are employees, they can collectively bargain, and contracts and limitations on movement then become enforceable. That's how it works in all other professional sports. You don't get to leave your team if the coach leaves. You don't get to choose your squad or coach when entering the league through the draft and, unless you're a special player that can negotiate a no trade clause, you can't prevent your managers from trading you to wherever they want. These restrains are only possible because the players association agreed to them in the collective bargaining agreement. If schools want to pretend that the players generating billions of dollars are just students participating in friendly athletic competitions like its the late 1800s, there is no legal basis to prevent their freedom of movement and to find ways to make money through their efforts and popularity.

Is this the end of shitty bowl games?
A 24 team playoff would bracket 9-24 and could be played the first week of December allowing the losers to still play in the other bowls. Otherwise the bowls want the matchups to be as competitive as possible, so ideally 13 v 14, 15 v 16, etc. They seem to come pretty close accounting for bowl tie ins and avoiding conference matchups.

NFL Week 17; Christmas-style
Goddamnit Fox, shit like this pisses me off. They show the play with the announcers saying it’s a catch, and don’t show the replay and announcers changing their mind, because it very clearly was not a catch. I reallly wanted it to be to say I saw live maybe the best catch ever but it was not a catch. Social media people who didn’t watch live though and only see this are all over the Vegas conspiracy and “scripted” bullshit because the post is intentionally misleading. It also didn’t end the game dumbass there was another play after this one. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DAXXVVqr4/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Is this the end of shitty bowl games?
Cheez It was having some fun when they ran their own self named bowl. Not sure if they still do this since taking over the Citrus Bowl sponsorship. The last iteration is what’s now the Pop Tart Bowl and both brands are owned by the same mega corp overlords. I wonder if they saw more opportunity for shenanigans with Pop Tarts or if they still have fun with the Cheez Its too. I’ll watch some on NYE probably.

This, she's a reprehensible piece of shit and needs to fucking disappear permanently. Even if her turn is genuine (which I don't believe for a second) you don't come back from her bullshit into respectability. At least violent criminals do time before we welcome them back into civilized society and even then we rarely look to them for advice on important matters. She can burn in hell for eternity.

UNT wins 12th game of the year in bowl game
I love OSU's Eric Morris hire but am not very enthused that he's bringing his defensive coordinator and most of that side of the staff. If we get Mestmaker, Hawkins, and some of their other good players, I think we'll at least score enough to be respectable again, and possibly really good if the defense can show up from time to time.

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
They beat Miami this year and mowed down the ACC just last year until the CCG and still made the playoff. I still think Lashlee's a good coach and they have NIL money. I think they can and will reload and avoid the silly losses they had this year. They at least have a pulse compared to the rest of that Micky Mouse schedule.
-
Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
I mean, they have a 3 game schedule next year, Miami, SMU, and BYU. If they lose two and end up ranked 13th, I'm sure they'll go full bitchmode again. So, you know, maybe win 2 of those 3? Nah, just put them in now to keep them from crying the entire fucking year.

Pretty sure I was called retarded for suggesting that a college blueblood coach (Freeman specifically) might prefer their situation over the NFL.

2025-26 CFP General Discussion
I haven't been reading much on that game but I can't believe anyone would be high on Miami. The UM-Aggy game was complete dogshit from both teams. UM only advanced because, well, someone had to end up ahead. I think it's far more likely that tOSU wins by 3-4 TDs than Miami pulls out a wins or even stays within that line.

2025-26 CFP General Discussion
There are always P4 teams in the NCAA tournament that are sub .500 in conference. They haven't proven shit. Some small conference AQs are sub .500 overall. Getting hot for a few games and winning the NEC doesn't mean shit. There will never be a top 24 CFB team that is sub .500 in conference and certainly not overall. The worst record of this year's CFP top 24 was 8-4 Iowa (6-3 in conference). Everyone else was at least 9-3 overall.

Shane Gillis
Yeah, just from the short clip, I didn't get the sense he was pro Fuentes, he looked to be mocking him at first, but then failed to really push back when Rogan tried to make him a legitimate person in politics. I would like to think that if they went into more detail about how Fuentes is "funny" it's that he's such a caricature and pure ragebait that there is some humor in mocking his style. Nevertheless, in my view, appearing with Rogan at all these days leaves a bad taste in my mouth, which would be true even if they manage to avoid politics, but they went into politics, so yeah, pretty distasteful. I get it, he's the top podcaster with billions of listeners, but that right there is the problem. Stop giving into him to increase your popularity but it just increases his popularity and he's the type of person in todays world who needs to be shut the fuck up already.

If Marcus Freeman was going to the NY Giants wouldn’t he have already said yes? Daboll already fired and ND already done for the year. Is he waiting for NFL Black Monday to see if other NFL opportunities are interested in him or is he committed to ND?

2025-26 CFP General Discussion
The vast majority of the field in the basketball and baseball tournaments also have zero chance at winning it all and we still love it. Call it a 16 team playoff with a play-in round if it makes you feel better. In my setup the CCGs go away and the 9-24 seeds play the first week of December. You then have a field of 16. The play in losers can then still play in the Snoop Dogg and Boise Bowls. I’d have no auto bids, just straight seeding 1-24. G5 teams only make the 16 team field it if they finish in the top 24 and win their play-in game. Would be equally and possibly more profitable than CCGs. And schools get more money from these games being at home venues instead of feeding NFL owners with more money from parking and concessions. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. If Petitis 24 team proposal still has auto bids and allocations by conference he can fuck off. Straight rankings and seeding 1-24 after the end of the regular seasons. Conferences award trophies by regular season records and if desired tiebreakers.

Dallas Cowboys 2025 season thread: 8-9 and divine. The world according to Jerry
It’s not that he’d “rather lose,” like Stephen said, they’ll do a self evaluation of their performance, and decide that they did a great job and that there was some other factor that caused the season to go wrong. They’re still the best option to turn this thing around. If they fired themselves as GM they’d obviously lose way more games. That’s a how narcissists think.

Chefs leaving KCMO for KCKS
MetLife has a transit option which Arlington does not. It’s absurd and another reason to despise Jerry Jones. It’s also why I’m still pissed the Rangers built out there instead of downtown Dallas. With 80+ home games the stadium should be far more accessible.

Dallas Cowboys 2025 season thread: 8-9 and divine. The world according to Jerry
You’re saying the same thing. He wants to win but it has to be in a way in which he gets all the credit. And it’s a huge middle finger to the fans because we don’t give a single shit about his ego and who would get credit. He would get to hold the trophy either way and he can claim credit anyway so his brain on this is seriously fucked..
