I don't know if it will cause irreparable damage, but I read the shutdown will affect the agencies that compile the economic and inflation data that the Fed is using to inform their decision making. They might end up steering monetary policy with a blindfold.
* Necro bump *
For context:
How will California's experiment compare to Seattle's?

That's roughly a 33% increase.
I also think he is a douchebag, but he is connected with folks at the Federal Reserve and PPT. His comments, which I posted previously, are likely informed by his reading of the pulse of the Fed. I suspect the Fed is serious about raising rates higher than the market currently expects.

I stared at the puzzle for way too long after guess #2. Guessed a word with a letter in the wrong spot on guess # because it was the first actual word I could think of after a time - then realized my mistake. I managed to guess a word on #4 that I didn't actually think would be in the Quordle dictionary, but it accepted it and I got a little more info. Then I spent another eternity staring at it before seeing the solution for guess #5.

In actual market talk... Did you folks see the bomb that Jamie Dimon dropped the other day?

I tried it out today. I could have done better I think.

1. Not handy. Unfortunately, shaggy is no more and I doubt the wayback machine archived the poll threads, Previous results are mostly in my head FWIW. 2018 poll was linked in the OP.
2. Poll results from shaggy consistently showed a very even left-right distribution. There was a very strong correlation with which side was more vocal/active in the CR and which side currently occupied the POTUS. The opposite side was always more vocal.
I started doing these polls circa 2007 or so. I've kept the poll answers the same to allow for direct comparisons to previous results. It's not a perfect poll, but you are getting what you have paid for.
I think those would commonly be understood as in the same family as "liberal". Also, see my comment above. I'm not trying to disenfranchise you.
It's been a few years since the last one.
A legend for folks who haven't seen my previous polls:
Republican = Party partisan
Democrat = Party partisan
Libertarian (big L) = Party partisan
conservative = ideologue generally aligned with GOP
liberal = ideologue generally aligned with Dems
libertarian (small l - classical liberal) = ideologue that has liberty issues as paramount (could vote any party)
moderate/independent = undefined - if you self identify as this, please tell us what it means to you
Person 1: Most of the employees at Widget Emporium have been discriminatory towards me on numerous occasions. Widget Emporium has a business culture of discrimination.
Person 2: Employees at Widget Emporium have never been discriminatory towards me. Your statement isn't true.
I don't avoid it. I post there when there is a topic or discussion that interests me enough.

@Imma - I appreciate the impact of the ads (and ad removal) on the site's engagement. I don't believe that is the full story with the state of discourse in the CR right now though.
