  1. That's my argument - this course WAS setup to be advantageous to the US. No penalities off the tee, soft attackable greens, wide enough fairways. Euro favored courses are tight, penal, brutal rough, rock greens. Minus the rock greens, that's exactly what Paris and Rome were. And again, didn't matter. Euros trashed us anyways. Keegan saying they could have set the course up different is a bullshit distraction from the reality that he fucked up pairings and the players were totally outclassed.
  2. It's called rain. Also, a harder, more penalizing course benefits Europe. They fare better with tight fairways, higher rough, and rock hard greens. A course where you can just bomb and gouge, like this week, generally benefits the US. Yet.... Here we are.
  3. Once the match starts, no, but not like it'd be any different.
  4. It's been around since 1979. Hardly ever (only once I think) does it get used. And it's completely inconsequential this time around. Whole bunch of nothing. Re-aim the angst at our sack of shit players and their captain.
  5. BDC is not good for the game of golf. He's not entertaining. He's cringe. He makes golf look hard, unapproachable, and douchey. The game will be better off when he finally puts up the clubs. Fuck that guy.
  6. They'll play it out most likely. Might see some matches concede early but these guys all care too much, despite this less than moving performance.
  7. Pretty sure the caddy did it to Rose twice - got in his read - and the 2nd time Rose was done with the bullshit.
  8. Nope. Hard to root for. Pretty much the exact opposite of Europe.
  9. If the ball is the reason for some of these absurd pairings, that's inexcusable. A TP5 plays so similar to a Pro V1x and the Callaway counterpart. And these players are so damn good, they know exactly how they have to adjust to switch balls. These guys are just worse than the Euros in match. And their captain and vice captains are so much smarter than Keegan and Co. They love each other like brothers. I don't know what to call the American's "camaraderie".
  10. People who attend most US golf events are the dumbest human beings on the planet. If you want to watch golf for the golf and not the douchebags trying to make a scene, you gotta go across the pond or pay your way into Augusta.
  11. What part of his statement is wrong? You're really showing your ass these last few hours. Might be time to take a nap.
  12. The US has completely shit the bed. We're about to be embarrassed with a home loss in NYC at the heart of public golf.
  13. Trump showed up and the US still fucking sucks at Ryder Cup. US team is every man for themselves and Europe actually plays for each other. So emblematic of what we've become.
  14. 100% Canada. Our team blows.
  15. Why? B/c they're actually a decent court and that would be telling here? Or...?
  16. May as well. UEFA is threatening to ban Israel from matches, like it did Russia, so no WC for Israel. That happens, and the Euro teams will probably find themselves not getting visas granted. Sure would be something to have a WC and not have Europe there.
  17. Morning looks like 2-2, which is a shit ton better than I was thinking. Also... 7:10 in the morning east coast start time? Is there weather rolling in late?
  18. Not if the victims are children.
  19. Keep moving - shuffle feet, waggle, forward press, whatever - settle for a split second and pull the trigger. Don't give your mind time to think about form and just use your feels. On the putting green, work on form and do the drills. On the course, trust your stroke and pull the trigger.
  20. I get away with no divot b/c I have a naturally (for lack of better word) shallow swing plane. If your swing plane is more steep and you're not taking a divot, that would be tough to be consistent.
  21. Cu Chi tunnels just south of Ho Chi Minh are pretty damn cool, especially if you're a history/war buff.
  22. And you can compress irons w/o taking a divot as well. I do it all the time. No issues holding greens, 10k+ spin with full wedges, etc etc... The concern is not about taking a divot or not. The concern is about the trajectory of the club at impact. Irons need to be on a downward trajectory, driver upward. That's what is important, not the divot or lack there of.
  23. You are shockingly delusional and that's saying a lot for this place.
  24. Yup, that's good enough for a 7. Either you launch it high enough or spin it high enough to kill a shot in under 10 yards with a 7 on a sim - that's pretty much me too. I think in reality (just gut feel), we fly it further and stop it quicker but net result is the same. Doesn't sound like you need a ton more compression, certainly not as a dude just picking up the game. Golf is a process. Every single shot. Every single chip. Every single putt. And usually different processes for each. People who love golf love the process, IMO. No one is good at golf overnight but if you enjoy the process, you'll enjoy this game.
