  1. You can use a credit card at the train stations, at least in Tokyo, as of this August. I never took out cash on my last trip to Tokyo and rode the trains everywhere. If the automated ticket machines aren't working (because you didn't setup a PIN), you can go wait in line and buy from the tellers.
  2. I'd go back to Tokyo just to visit Pizza Studio Tamaki again. God that place was so damn good.
  3. Also... The airport is +15% YTD, if it finishes at +15%, ABIA will pass Love and Hobby into the #3 spot of busiest airports in Texas (assuming they are flat, which they probably won't be given the last few years trends).
  4. That's a good deal then. I couldn't stomach $180/yr but $79 is tolerable.
  5. May airport numbers are out and ABIA crushed the monthly record. BA ran the 747 all month and was up 51% YoY as a result at a ~80% LF - pretty damn impressive and against what I had guessed earlier. Total traffic to London was over 25k passengers (Norwegian + BA). That's a lot of people. Delta up another 20+%, AA up 14%. If Delta is +20% again in June and United states flat again, Delta will pass United and take over #3 at ABIA.
  6. No you don't, you just cut the ID check which is the least painful part. You still have to go through the metal detectors and get your bag screened which is 90% of the TSA headache and where the pain of the "9 lbs of change" guys comes in. It's also $180/year (wtf????). Guess you got a discount. Also, airlines don't control who gets pre-check and who doesn't, TSA does. They try to select frequent, low risk fliers to entice them to sign up.
  7. Relax man... Overreact much? I'm certain Jordan didn't look at a leaderboard. I didn't state otherwise. That doesn't stop me from tracking him relative to the leaders. If that really bothers you this much, I can't help you.
  8. Staying within 6 of the lead is a good way of doing that especially when conditions will be harder for the afternoon group. But thanks for the lesson!
  9. Jordan with a MUCH needed birdie on 18 (his #9). For as awful as he's playing, he's only 6 back now and that's with going +4 thru 2. He's still in this... Get it to +2 and he's got a shot.
  10. This coverage is horrible. So often they don't even give you a good idea of where a shot ends up. Just let Golf Channel run the morning coverage please.
  11. For those of you trying to use the US Open app, use Fox Sports Go instead - it's working flawlessly (assuming you have a FS1 subscription through cable/streaming).
  12. Way to grow the game, USGA. Nothing like staring at a "Coverage will resume momentarily" screen that gets me motivated to play golf. Also, even the shot tracker they have on usopen.com is wrong. They can't get anything right so far.
  13. I don't think they are filling that 744 up... A 744 is a ~60% seat increase over a 789. BA ran a 789 for 7 days (14 segments) in April and the rest with a 744. That's 13.8k passengers in ~18.9k seats for a 73% LF. Given the 789 is considerably smaller, the LF during those first 7 days must have been well north 75% and the 744 ended up running upper 60's to low 70's. BA ran a 86% LF last April for comparison assuming they ran an 789. If it was the 772 back then, then the LF is even higher.
  14. If you don't want to click through each hole, here are the youtube videos in front and back nine compilations.
  15. Flyrite blows. Overpriced. Not as good as Chik Fil A. T22, however, is awesome. I'm a Lucy's fan as well but I'm going to struggle driving past T22 to get to Lucy's now.
  16. Spieth is just spinning his wheels out there. Going to have to have a pretty special back 9 to make the cut (well, "special" by his standard of play as of late).
  17. "Sometimes it's cool to watch" Cheeky, but he's right.
  18. When he placed the ball on the path, his next move was taking relief from the path. When he took relief from the path and dropped in the grass, he was once again right next to the power box. Then he took relief from the power box (again) by dropping in a 1" x 1" patch of grass where the ball would stick and not roll onto the path or roll closer to the hole from where the ball was pre-drop. So when he finally took his final stance, he had taken relief from the power box, not the path. I think what made Spieth so frustrated was that the official made him go through the whole process of dropping on the path (twice) and then place on the path, and then drop in the grass next to the box only to get to take the drop on the 1" x 1" patch of grass that he wanted to do in the first place.
  19. Nothing wrong with a flat, one plane swing as long as you are using your big muscles correctly. My swing is uber flat like a Kuchar, Dufner, and Hogan. Has anyone tried a putting grip like Stricker? Basically a fully unhinged left wrist, resulting in a shaft angle that approaches 90 degrees to the ground? It dramatically reduces the effective hitting area because the heel comes off the ground so much but wow, it really kills off side spin on putts. I know having a shaft angle that is 90 degrees to the putter head is illegal and now I can see why. I'm guessing the major downside is you have a reduced area to place your mishits, after which it's a straight shank? I don't know... I've been using this grip for a couple days now and am really impressed with the result. Also, someone a while back mentioned struggling with distance control and thought about buying a bigger head to help. Isn't that the opposite of what you should do? Smaller, lighter means better distance control (better feel for the clubhead), bigger, heavier means better line/aim control (clubhead won't twist, easier for straight back, straight through)?
  20. I'd say homemade pasta but after discovering the Bucatini fresh pasta at HEB for ~$5, I haven't made a single batch of fresh pasta myself. Totally worth it to just buy it ready made with the same ingredients I use anyways (flour, eggs, water). Homemade curry paste, green curry in particular, kicks ass.
  21. Certainly no arguing that. I'm of the opinion that ditching Cam isn't the answer because Cam doesn't really affect the problem areas much (putting) and is doing a great deal of good in other facets (SG: Tee to Green, Proximity, GIR, continual improvement in driving distance). Putting is in Jordan's head or maybe it's just the yips and they'll go away or maybe it's his alignment or the downsides of a cross hand grip. Or maybe it really is that Cam has tapped out on being able to affect the mental side of the putting game of a 24 year old multi millionaire but I don't think that warrants him being dropped given all the huge improvements he's made elsewhere for Jordan's game. I also think, as Stu alluded to above, that Jordan was far better when looking at the hole and he probably got tired of talking about it so his ego made him stop. Hope he goes back to it or winking at some hot blonde while putting instead. Anything other than looking at the ball.
  22. Spend a day with Stricker. Chew more gum. Close your eyes first. Anything outside firing Cam makes more rational sense.
  23. Jordan is killing it everywhere up to the green - #2 strokes gained: tee to green, #1 proximity to hole. I'm certain Cam is a huge reason for that success. The green is where it all falls apart. It's all mental there and the only one who can fix Jordan's head is Jordan. No need to ditch Cam to do it.
  24. I agree with all this. I decant the good stuff as well and stick the bottle topper in the majority of the other wines I drink. I do hate cleaning the decanter though....
  25. The only redeeming part about Jacksonville is the airport because it's no where near Jacksonville.
