  1. Cross posted from the shit you cooked lately thread. Leftover pork loin stuffed with boudin, some brown gravy, on toast. Heavy on the cracked black pepper. Needed a nap after lunch (yesterday). I also licked the plate clean afterwards, like a dog.
  2. It's good, as always, but they changed their serving methods after Covid. You have to order at your table, off the menu now. Cherry Creek Catfish is also very good, for catfish @ztejas already mentioned.
  3. lol yeah. "I shall not seek, and I will not accept the nomination of my party for another term as your President” vs January 6th. Totally the same.
  4. Yeah 7-A Ranch in Wimberley and the Austin Zoo can figure it out all these years, but not the city of Austin.
  5. Only because Bob Stoops was chasing him. With an empty bag.
  6. HEB had 7 or 8lb loins on sale. This was half of an 8lb’er. Butterfly, salt, roll up and let sit in the fridge dry brining for a couple hours. Then pulled it out and stuffed it. I’ve messed up a lot of meat but pork loins and tenderloins are pretty hard to screw up.
  7. Turned out pretty good.
  8. Yeah, it’s a hard nut to crack. I’m at an age where I don’t do risky stuff anymore, but convincing younger people to not touch anything that doesn’t come from Walgreens is a tall fucking order.
  9. True, it’s not like it was when the worst thing we had to worry about was baby laxative or some benign stuff. Biggest problem now is even if you teach kids and they’re aware of the danger, once your inhibitions are impaired things happen. Bad things.
  10. Boudin stuffed pork loin started. Reverse searing, going into the oven and then on a hot grill. That’s a pepper jack/havarti blend under the boudin.
  11. Have you biked or run, or walked or even gone outside in Austin in August, vs the Bay Area? If there’s a paying market for sous vide long pork then yeah, it might be good for the city. Otherwise it’s hell on EMS having to haul stinking carcasses off the sidewalk.
  12. Arm wrestling > Def Leppard
  13. Yeah, but as a poor college student, a 99 cent baked potato with the chili dumped on it, along with sour cream and cheese and stuff was a great meal.
  14. Wind tried it in the 1930s. Partially worked, but central California got Okiefied.
  15. Tell me you don’t live in Florida without telling me you don’t live in Florida.
  16. My experience at the one by my office in SE Austin is the opposite - you go through the drive-thru at like 10mph and they practically throw the food into your car and shoo you on your way. Extremely fast food, to the point of anxiety.
  17. I figured it was just a Rusty brisket. Woof.
  18. Get off my lawn! Whippersnapper!
  19. How does the GOP help you out? Come on, man you can’t redirect me like that. I asked you, plainly, to explain how voting GOP helps you out as opposed to either not voting or voting Biden. If you misunderstood that then you’re more of a moron than I thought. It’s a simple question. You can’t answer it.
  20. Can’t answer a question, has to genuflect to master. Yep, that’s @Incredulity Can’t even answer. What a disappointment.
  21. Cop out, nope, you are too dumb to answer a simple question. Instead you deflect. You wear Velcro shoes, I’m guessing. Probably adult diapers too, like your idol?
  22. You never did answer the fucking question though, and you never will, because you can’t.
  23. Thanks, I guess. The graveyard of humanity is littered with such admiration.
