  1. Walleye has an overrated reputation due to its regional freshwater competition. I have had it many times as both my ex wife and current wife are from South Dakota(that is another story) and I have traveled to the SD/ Minn/Wisc. tri state area annually for the last 30 years or so. It is still very good and miles better than any bass and not as good as trout. I have a fishing buddy that I visit here in Austin on occasion and this topic always comes up after a few cocktails. He swears walleye is better than speckled trout, flounder or pompano, but I think he is also associating it with childhood memories and he is also a Trumper(just to keep it topical), so I am pretty sure he is full of shit. I have not had any luck catching walleye up north. The LMBs are as stupid as the day is long up there though and they love them some saltwater topwaters in the summer as do the northerns.
  2. Are Italian tomatoes like Italian sports cars or Italian leather goods? Or are they more like Italian Karate (Pizza Steve)?
  3. This hits close to home. As an Excavation and Concrete contractor, I have the responsibility of owning a fleet of vehicles and machinery. The "fleet" breaks down into 3 categories. Trucks/Autos (Crew trucks, haul trucks, light trucks) Machinery/Heavy Trucks (backhoes, crawlers, water trucks, dump trucks, skid steers, forklifts etc.) Small Equipment but still heavy duty(Light towers, various trowel machines, survey equipment, compressors, jack hammers, generators) Our newest vehicle is a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, which is my truck. The rest of the truck/auto fleet is between 2001 and 2010, simply because it is all diesel vehicles. We are able to maintain them without much issue. The worst problem we ever had was with the 2003-2006 Ford 6.0 liter diesels which were the first generation of low emission diesels Ford made after they discontinued their legendary 7.3 liter power stroke(of which we still have a few). The 2003-2006 Fords suffered mostly from a bad oil cooling design and subsequent high exhaust gas temperatures which subsequently destroyed the EGR. The EGR's were replaced numerous times under warranty until the warranty expired. The trucks continued to have problems due to the oil cooling issue (Ford designed the oil cooler to be a coolant/oil heat exchanger-due to the tight quarters of the oil cooler, the coolant would eventually congeal and the exchanger would not operate properly and eventually the first thing that would give out would be the EGR if you were lucky. These trucks were notorious for for blown heads and other catastrophic related engine failures.) Fortunately for us we kept a close eye on them and never had any catastrophic problems before we decided to replace the oil coolers and EGRs with aftermarket parts. The aftermarket oil cooler was particularly clever, in that it disposed of the old cooler and replaced it with a dummy filler which rerouted the oil to an air cooler mounted in front of the radiator. We did that work back in 2012 and the rucks have been great since. We have even considered buying these vehicles and fixing them for pour fleet because they can be had so cheaply, but decided against it as there is a risk that serous unknown damage may be lurking in the background. Anyway. New trucks =bad. Old trucks=good.
  4. America may be all right after all.
  5. Diced tomato talk is the new law mowing talk.
  6. I am mildly amused that I even got close after "tag" considering the the state I was in and time elapsed since event(30+ years). Think I'll have an IPA or 7 to celebrate my newfound superpowers.
  7. CSB: While in college at Texas I was at this party that has some fine German girls at it. My brother took German in high school and college and was trying to chat them up a little bit, so after a few, I got him to teach me a quick pick up line for some chatting. I have no idea what exactly what he taught me but it sounded like: "Tag, cappen mein fleish cabogen etc, etc.." So I tried it and got weird looks and some laughs. I latter found out what I said was something like. "Hi, My name is jiggy. I am hard. I've just had my meat weighed."
  8. He winked, just not the way she thought....

  11. Also, looks like trump got his tax return delay.
  12. We are a nation of immigrants.....and morons, but mostly morons.
  13. Yes there are other factors. I am a business owner as well as a CPA and the tax rate always matters even when you are losing money. I think some of you are downplaying the rate drop and its effect especially when coupled with deregulation and dark money.
  14. Corporations are much better at supporting their own interests as the soulless entities they are. 35% to 21% tax rate rate drop outside should have told you.
  15. Agree although I guess one could argue that Biden might do better with the olds that and possibly presidential turnout helps. Beto lost by 2.6 points and the notion was that his race was going to help Texas Ds down the line in 2020 and beyond
  16. They forgot also about Roy Cohn being a known pedophile (he preferred the young men).
  17. That was crazy. I'm just gonna skip the rest and thread watch.
  18. Who says the RNC is not diverse? The more you watch, diverse it gets. I'll see myself out.
  19. Nice catch, but just because they are not advertising it, doesn't mean they don't use it.
