  1. Come on, man....
Ferrari has been tuning a car for LeClerc for what is now six seasons. They know what his mattress feels like.
Who shows up to a team in year one and outruns the #1?
Carlos Sainz is 30. Ferrari should make that call right now, right?

Exactly. Lewis steps into a new team and car and has won a sprint race. Not to mention they aren’t catching McLaren. He worked his way up to 5th. No need to push harder than that.
  2. I’m not a fan of Hamilton’s, I’m not against him I’m just not for him.  I’ve said many times that I’m a Schumacher fan, Michael, not Ralf.
I admire how dominant Hamilton was with a car that was so far ahead of the field. He won the races but, his fall to average has been quite stark.
He has six pole positions since, and including the 2021 season. Five of those came in 2021. That’s six in the last 95 races. He won eight races in 2021. He won two in 2024, none in 2022, 2023 and so far none in 2025. That’s two wins in his last 72 races and wasn’t one of those last year a gift?
I just think his time has past.

He’s constantly been a top 10 driver is avg leading cars. Also, he won the Sprint race earlier this year. He’s also in a new car this year - which is not easy for anyone. He’s in the mix with the rest of them in a new car / team. I think he’s fine.
  3. Love the casual hand wave as to…everything.
And ffs, on #4, that’s literally from business owners themselves. Incoming China trade is rapidly shutting down. No inventory, no business.
Nobody in the world except Ron Vara thinks we’re not in a crisis.

I guarantee you #4 is happening. Tariff is applied on ship date. If companies didn’t have the cash to load up Nov - March, they are fucked or they are scrambling for new suppliers - which also costs money and time.
  4. Seems like a problem.

We also have substantial dependency on china for our pharmaceutical supply chain. Like some of the real basics eg antibiotics. We need to return production capacity to Americans shores.

I don’t disagree. However, unraveling 50 years of globalization like this isn’t the answer.

  5. I think we’re going to bottom at around -30 to 40 percent on the S&P.  I think unfortunately it’s going to take a while.  Would love to be wrong.

Based on Trumps statement this evening that he sees all trade deficits as negative, we are fucked. Companies are already running numbers on what supplies / goods will cost now and it’s not pretty. Our prices are going to skyrocket. 40% down is easy at this point.
  6. I’m 42. I don’t really manage my 401k, just put it in the 2040 retirement bucket. Tomorrow is not the day to start managing it and move everything to a money market, right?  I’ve already got the losses and would just risk missing when things move back up. Right?…

You’ve got 20 years for things to come back. If it goes to zero, you and all of us are going to have bigger things to worry about. Buy on the way down and on the way up. I’m 47 and rebalanced last month.
  7. Yes! The criticism of people actually taking public action because they're not doing it to some strange standard is idiotic.
Somebody does something more than I do? I'll just clap.

My question wasn’t meant as a criticism - I just genuinely did not see the point. If it’s a starting place - great. If it’s for the feels for those folks - also good.

  8. What do people hope to accomplish with these protests? Trump and co don’t care (if people even let Trump see them). The GOP doesn’t care (they support P2025). MAGA is all in on anything Trump does and chalks these protests up to Trump derangement syndrome. It seems like a waste of time and energy.
