  1. This is the way I have always felt. The BigXII should be moving heaven and earth to get those two schools. Those two schools should want to be here. For LSU, it gives them the real chance to be an equal in a conference that would embrace them and also strengthens their Texas recruiting. For Arkansas, it gives them a chance to start recruiting east Texas again and have a relevant football team. Bribe boosters, make promises. Whatever it takes. Adding those two would created the kind of conference that would last and, as a bonus, aggy becomes arkansas for the next 50 years.
  2. As a side note, didn't I read somewhere that Riley told Spencer Rattler he would not take a transfer QB this year?
  3. A slam dunk hire for Kansas. With the purple wizard on his way out the door(maybe) and Matt Campbell eventually leaving for a big job, the timing of his hire couldn't be much better.
  4. The best move would be to break the PAC in half. Add USC, ucla, Colorado, Utah and the Arizona schools. The B1G can take their pick through the rest. I would guess Stanford, Washington and Oregon would be on the top of that list. Texas and tech would go to the west with permanent cross rivals with east schools Texas Oklahoma Tech Okie state USC TCU UCLA Baylor Ariz. Kansas ASU KSU Col. WVU Utah ISU That gives all teams access to Texas and gives both halves 3-5 teams that can make the championship game consistently.
  5. The wife beater's cantankerous series of rants mean absolutely nothing to anyone except for himself. OK COOL HOOK'EM
  6. This is exactly what I was thinking during the game. Time was on our side. The more plays they had to run the more likely it was they would make a mistake. Why are we letting anyone get behind us? Isn't that the whole point of the bend but don't break defense we were supposedly running during that last drive?
  7. From just the way the team has performed this season, I honestly thought it would make it a lot easier to fire Durkin.
  8. This is exactly what I've thought. If the BigXII wants to have an equal chance at getting into the playoffs every year they need to add two teams and adopt the SECSECSEC model. Every conference team having that extra win every year would give us more ranked teams with a better chance of a guarantee playoff spot year in and year out. The round robin schedule with a championship game is one of the dumbest things the conference ever did.
  9. Good to know I am finally contributing real dollars to my biggest time-sink.
  10. These are the type of things that frustrate me with this conference. How is the BigXII's marquee matchup of the season scheduled at 11am like we're some kind of G5 conference just thankful to be on TV? To add to that, why are we even playing a championship game in a league that has all of its teams play each other? All they're doing is just giving our league a chance to get knocked out of the playoffs again. They should have just added the two extra teams and had a traditional championship like everyone else. Play an 8 game conference schedule since it's obvious that the committee doesn't give preference to anyone playing 9 and get that extra win for all the teams in the conference so the league would look stronger and have more teams ranked. The SECSECSEC has figured it out. Why are we as a conference trying to recreate the wheel? The BigXII is the second to third best conference in the nation most years but the perception around the country is that it's the worst and barely hanging on by a thread. New leadership is needed.
  11. So if Syracuse beats or plays a tight game with Clemson does aggy still get credit for their moral victory?
  12. There's a 99% chance that nothing in this thread ever happens but if we're going to speculate about different scernerios, we might as well speculate on the ones that make the most sense. My overall point is that as a Texas fan, if we choose to stay in the Big XII then we should go after the schools that make the conference the strongest. We should think outside the box and not settle for the Cincinnati's of the world. If that's not what the conference wants to do then I think we need to pair up with Oklahoma and whoever else and join the SEC where all our natural geographical rivals reside. I know the fear is that a lot of the schools in the SEC don't care about academics but that's not true for most of them and Texas as an academic leader could change that perception very quickly.
  13. If we stay in the XII, I think we need to aggressively pursue Arkansas and LSU. As a conference, we blend better with those two border states then any other additions we could add. As rivals, Arkansas is already a former rival and LSU alums are in all parts of east Texas. If the big XII can convince Fox to build a network for them that rivals the SEC and the B1G, they might be able to convince those two to come on board. The biggest issue would be to convince LSU and Arkansas that they would have equal voices in the room, they wouldn't lose money and things would not just be all about Texas and Oklahoma. Playing on the Alabama controls everything in the SEC narrative might be helpful. I think both of those schools would thrive in a new Big XII, especially Arkansas. If the Big XII was somehow successful in pulling of this coup, I would fully expect the SEC to go after West Virginia and another school to maintain their game inventory for ESPN. If West Virginia leaves then you go after Nebraska, Colorado or one of the Arizona schools. NORTH Oklahoma Oklahoma state Nebraska Kansas Kansas state Iowa state SOUTH Texas Arkansas LSU TCU Texas tech Baylor Setup some permanent rivals that make sense and that can be a conference that last for a long time.
