  1. Dykes (with his focus on the portal) has a better process than Sark (who is using a process that hasn't adapted to the changes in college football). No amount of evidence will convince you, I know.
  2. He doesn't care about results. He cares about the process. He is like an aggie. In his mind, our signing-day victories mean more than Baylor winning the conference or TCU playing for a national title.
  3. For any coach that stays with Texas for 3+ years, if they can win 1 national title, I would call that a success. If they can get to a national title game, I am whelmed. If Sark accomplishes what Dykes has accomplished at TCU, I will tip my cap and admit I was wrong. Unfortunately, I am more likely to win the Mega Millions than for Sark to get to a title game, process be damned.
  4. TCU will continue to kill it in the portal. Every year.
  5. You seem to value process over results. I don't.
  6. No idea. Regardless, if they go winless, they are still ahead of us. Sark could be a coach for 5 lifetimes and he isn't taking us to a national title game.
  7. Baylor went from 2 wins to conference Champs. TCU went from 5 wins to the national title game. This has all happened during Sark's tenure and those coaches had lesser players.
  8. We've won one national title in the last 52 years. I think we are a lot more likely to win our next title as a "one off" (like TCU is trying to do this year) than to think we will become Bama. My goodness, I hope I am wrong, and Sark turns us in to a dynasty. Still, Bama and Ohio State added starters at key line positions this past season via the portal. I think that will only increase from the top programs in the coming years. I really think things have drastically changed and that Sark is adapting slower than other "blue blood" programs.
  9. I was just listening to the Andy Staples Podcast while I worked out. Ari Wasserman said TCU brought in 13 new guys from the transfer portal in the off-season. CFB has changed. Dykes is embracing this change. Sark is not.
  10. I said Amen to his knock on people blaming cancel culture. Beard should have been fired the day he was charged with Felony Strangulation. Every fucktard on this board who says we have to investigate and take time and get all the "facts" likely had to go to Tech. No one else could be so stupid.
  11. So much time to prepare and we look like this?
  12. I've seen 3 kinds of posters in this thread: 1.) The people who think (as per his contract) he should be fired just for the felony arrest. 2.) The people who think beard acted in self-defense. 3.) The people who want him retained no matter what happened. I have read every page and haven't seen anyone assert that they know the entirety of the arrest affidavit is factually correct. What goes on in your mind is God's own private mystery.
  13. We've got to get you out of the friend zone. Step 1, go easy on the sauerkraut.
  14. Screw that noise. Justice Finkley is going to karate kick Penix to sleep.
  15. Stop with this nonsense. There wasn't a room full of social justice warriors sitting around, twisting their moustaches, just waiting for Beard to bite & strangle his fiancée so they could pounce. It really seems like the powers that be are keeping Beard. It is no secret that I am not a fan of this decision, however, I am now hoping that there is no photographic evidence that is damning. If there are picture of bite marks and/or neck marks, and they come out after the press conference where CDC announces he is keeping Beard, all of the "optics don't matter" crowd will learn quickly and decisively that they do matter.
  16. When a university doesn't address a scandal the right way, it gets brought up for years and years. Sometimes, for generations. I hope our university leadership doesn't drop us down to the same level as Baylor and ou.
  17. This isn't about the legal system. Beard will likely not be convicted of anything and most likely shouldn't be convicted of anything. This isn't about what actually happened. She admits she started it by breaking his glasses and I think Beard most likely was just trying to keep himself from being attacked. This isn't about a pattern of being an abuser. We've seen no evidence of that. People keep discussing these 3 things over and over again. They don't matter. What matters is optics. How our program and athletics department as a whole is perceived. If Beard is retained this could, and would, be used against us in other sports in recruiting. This is why the clause was put in his contract that he can be terminated with cause for any conduct unbecoming his position, including just a felony arrest (regardless of a conviction). If Beard comes back this year or next, and this doesn't come back at us in a negative way in any form, then my concerns will have been unnecessary and I will be proven wrong. So be it, but I hope we don't take that risk.
  18. This isn't about being sanctimonious. It is so common for abused women to falsely recant over and over again that this statement tonight is meaningless in regards to national optics. It will be humiliating to the university if CDC keeps Beard based on this statement.
