  1. i think what really brings your analogy home is the very similar resumes and reputations of derek warehime and drew mehringer as compared to darrell dickey and james coley. great point. the problem here, as it has been for years, is dameyune craig, who jimbo cannot for whatever reason seem to part from, nor can craig leave, even as close as he was last year at various points. i think these moves reduce craig's on-field impact, are a neutral to the tight end room, immediately bolster the wide receiver room, and hopefully get craig one step closer to somewhere else.
  2. well no shit. have you seen his position group the last few years? also, while drunk in southern france earlier this summer, i was hit with a brilliant idea: a podcast whereupon spiderybanana and texpete break down high school film. i am in for $20 monthly on the patreon.
  3. it's a demotion for craig, and it's fucking beautiful. real football cometh.
  4. 1. everytime junior mentions something even tangentially related to his childhood i die a little bit inside 2. i miss bart reagor
  5. this sucks this sucks this sucks this sucks
  6. i really, really enjoyed that. kind of weird pairing with tycho but both sounded great. new album may end up decent. interpol went on around 9:15 i think. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/interpol/2022/the-factory-in-deep-ellum-dallas-tx-6bb602d2.html
  7. i generally don't mind bob, but that entire segment was really petulant on his part. he may just be that tone deaf to his occasional obnoxiousness. and george is going to be amazing as he gets loopier today.
  8. connor weigman is gonna be fun. not sure jimbo has the stones to start him this year but it will be interesting.
  9. also, monty has clearly never been the paragon of health, but he sounded awful last week, hope he's doing ok.
  10. it took me a year to accept this, but bob and dan should be together noon to 3, jake, corby and sirois as the hardline, and i don't give a shit what happens from ten to noon because i'm usually on a call.
  11. fadil diggs (wde) and tunmise adeleye (most likely strongside). tunmise looks like one of those guys that really worked his ass off over the break and came into camp in great shape. reports say diggs looks good, but there's not a whole lot of guys pushing him. the more interesting thing to me is durkin appears to be putting a bit more speed on the field and will be less likely to play a 290 guy at 5 tech as compared to elko. macro wise i'm guessing we're going to trend towards being a bit more multiple with a higher pressure rate and give up a bit more against the run.
  12. jan mcdowell for congress! https://www.janmcdowell.com/
  13. i feel like r.e.m. fandom - more than most bands based on length of career and genre cul de sacs explored - highly depends on where in their catalog the listener entered. monster was my first real exposure to the band, and i fucking loved it as a middle schooler, and although it took me awhile to get into new adventures, i eventually thought it was incredible as well. it took me probably a decade to revisit murmur and the rest of the catalog, which may as well be a different band on a lot of levels. 100% agree on new adventures, i've always randomly loved undertow (amazing mike mills harmonies as always) - and new test leper, realizing the shit he was probably going through at the time as a gay man in america hits harder the older i get.
  14. this is a really fucking great album. feels like the kind of record my favorite song is going to change every few listens but rather obsessed with 'feels alright' at the moment. and echo the thoughts on jimmyjazz and that first ep, that's awesome.
  15. craig publicly bragging about tipping a guy $1 is extremely on brand.
  16. i'm drinking pappy 12, watching the snowpocalypse blow in and content in knowing there's literally nothing in our history that would suggest we could fuck this up.
  17. clarification: the a&m class. i like his upside better than denver harris, smoke, or, um bobby taylor.
  18. putting it on the record this will be the best cb from this class starting in '23. his film is unreal. i know georgia is stacked here, but i remain surprised they didn't want to wait around on him.
  19. i think he's actually better on offense than defense. dude is a freak at rb. athletic freak on defense, just not sure his position, don't think he ever gets much above 220. as far as the bust potential, i would put a lot of money on walter nolan playing 3 years and being a top 10 pick. needs to get his body right, but too much talent. i would also bet a lot of money on evan stewart being the third most productive wr in this class and transferring out after a year or two. partially because of him, partially because i love the other two guys so much. could also see bryce anderson not sticking as i'm not sure where he fits best - fear he could be a bit of a tweener, especially on the chance we land jacoby matthews. that kid is incredible.
  20. liucci putting out his final top 44 with perkins #1 literally seconds before he decommits is . . . incredible.
  21. i've seen enough s&c guys at different programs through the years that i'm confident that i have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to predicting success or failure there.
  22. from guys that historically know what they're talking about, they're excited about sanders. durkin seems odd, and feels we could have found someone with a similar ceiling without the noise that comes along with him. addazio sucks ass and i will be super pissed if that's the hire. a couple of friends from bc echo everything ever said about that douchebag.
