  1. I've used Hooper Plumbing for the last decade or so and have been happy. They get people out quickly and stuff is fixed when they leave. https://www.hooperplumbing.com/ Honestly, I'm not sure how they are for prices because I haven't compared them to anyone else in years.
  2. I’m with both of you. Rangers win was a lifetime sports highlight for me, but the last thing I want is my furnace / AC system to be made to operate like the Astros in that series. Completely ineffective at home. Just a weird ad for a Dallas company IMO.
  3. "It's time to tune up your furnace like our Texas Rangers tuned up those Houston Astros on the way to the World Series..." -Bakers Brothers Plumbing / AC What in the actual fuck does that even mean?
  4. It looks like you made it upside down, try harder.
  5. Thank you for the explanation. My wife was a SPED teacher back in the day and certainly has some stories to tell on that front. As to your original question and the general topic of the thread...buy low / sell high!!
  6. Honestly I’m a bit surprised that he districts that have screwed it up that badly have the resources to pay for it to be done correctly. Are they getting grants or some kind of rescue funds from the gummint? sounds like a good program and a great gig for you either way.
  7. @Larry T. Spider Interesting. Do you sell the concept, train the locals to implement and walk away or do you staff it for them also (i.e. the "staff" works for your company)?
  8. ummm.... Truly sorry for your loss moose, but this is Surly so I thought this gif was appropriate given the the overall flow of the conversation.
  9. What is the typical crew / capacity of one of those?
  10. I grew up dipping my CFS with gravy in ketchup and then one day the thought of replacing the ketchup with cholula hit me (alcohol may have been involved) and it was like and I grew up in the greater Brownwood region FWIW.
  11. Where did you find them?
  12. Planning to spend a couple of weeks in Scotland / Ireland this Summer with my wife and our 3 kids (2 in college and a 10 year old). Trying to figure out lodging, probably easiest to rent an apartment instead of multiple hotel rooms. Is Airbnb and/or Vrbo the way to go or is there some Brit or Euro version that is a better source for me? I'm a bit afraid of getting scammed as I've seen a few listings noting "Hacked account / Fake listing". @txduck87 @Brisketexan @Chewbacca @Incredulity @Hagbard Celine Anyone else who has experience with Airbnb or Vrbo or Brit / Euro equivalent specifically in Scotland / Ireland, any guidance you can provide is appreciated.
  13. The lady in the office next to me has a family place on Dauphin Island. I can ask her for any pro-tips on that specifically. Generally, I would say that anything down that way (Miss / Bama / FL panhandle) the weather can be a complete crapshoot for Spring Break. Your "beach" vacation could be exactly what you think of (nice weather, etc.) or it could be 42 degrees and windy as hell. I've had both experiences down there at Spring Break and the bad weather variant really puts a damper on the week.
  14. Sounds like he ( and some other Surly spawn) is taking the right approach. Wherever they end up, do your best, have fun, and then go be a self sufficient, good citizen!!
  15. I was waiting for at least one of them to look at the camera and bust out laughing when they mentioned Kyler Murray as a possibility to join their fraternity.
  16. Checked and didn't see this posted anywhere. Apparently this has been out for about a year, but i saw it randomly last night and thought it was great. 7 of the 10 guys who are Heisman winners and Pro Football Hall of Famers sit down to have a discussion. Obviously seeing Earl is awesome, but the others are cool to see also. Just a bit over an hour and worth it!!
  17. Wasn't it something on Austin360 or something like that? I'm thinking back to '96, '97 range probably.
  18. What is the point of her working and earning very little? I get if she was a caretaker of minor children, but if your youngest is 22 it does seem like there could be a bit more of a contribution to the resolution of this situation. Are there extenuating circumstances that make the work she is currently doing, all she can do? I get that she may have gotten used to not "having" to contribute to cover "needs" but the circumstances seem to have changed significantly.
