  1. Could you just set up a GroupMe group with all employees?
  2. Not normally an advocate of ducking obligations but cutting up the credit cards and stop making payments toward that debt might not be the worst decision you've ever made. When they eventually call you to collect you can explain that you do not have the money to pay them but you would consider trying to pay some "settled" amount in exchange for forgiveness of the rest of the obligation. Let them twist for a bit (months most likely and when they reach out again make the same offer). I'm not sure exactly what that process would look like but I know they can't throw you in jail, take your house or dock your pay over unsecured consumer debt. Are these cards issued through your bank or just the Citibank, Capital One's of the world? It would certainly kill your credit but if you already have your house financing secure and reliable transportation, or the ability to pay cash for cars in the near future, I would think you'd survive and have a monthly surplus of 1,600 instead of a deficit of 1,300. ALL OF THIS PRESUPPOSES THAT YOU ARE NOT CONTINUING TO SPEND MORE THAN YOU BRING IN!!! I don't have any idea what effect this strategy might have on the FAFSA / Financial aid for your college student. Is the son, spawn of both you and your wife, or just you and an ex? Sorry you're in that spot and good luck!!
  3. Maybe I am misunderstanding what NoName is trying to say but I think DVR should be replaced with VOD (Video on Demand) throughout that explanation. Either way, the concept he describes is correct. Your goal is to watch the versions you have recorded so you can skip the commercials.
  4. My uncle gave me this calendar for Christmas 1986. April and especially February are most etched in my memory. That water droplet (you'll know it when you see it) was of particular interest to me. Sad day if SI is really done. Not so much for the current content but for the memories it holds in our collective minds. My 10 year old has been going to the mailbox looking for it every day even though I have told him it's probably not arriving. Was the final episode the Michigan over Washington cover?
  5. The guy in the office next to me is reasonably high up the chain of BMD's for A&M. As an example, we are in Dallas and Bjork came to our office to meet him on the day his hiring was announced. Immediately after that meeting my co-worker came in to my office and said, "we've made a huge mistake, that guy is an idiot!!" ha ha He's happy to have him gone.
  6. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2024/01/amazon-bally-sports-streaming-deal-diamond-sinclair-rsn-bankruptcy/ Amazon investing in Diamond / Sinclair / Bally, etc. Expected to begin distributing their content via a prime video channel (subscription required).
  7. Is Core Teamer new, or just new to me? EDGE 😄
  8. So Oregon (lost twice to Wash) is 2nd Georgia just lost to Bama is 3rd Bama who lost to Texas is 5th Texas is 6th beat Bama and who just lost to Washington (beat #2 Oregon twice) who was 2nd and is now 9th Penn State is 7th lol I know this poll has its place, but the snapshot from today seems out of touch
  9. I think that is the tough part. These protests can't start as a few hundred that grow to a few thousand. They need to start as at least tens of thousands growing to hundreds of thousands. Anything less and they all just get arrested. Building the initial tens of thousands without being ratted out is close to impossible. Really sad situation for the average Russian and I can see how many just choose to flee if they have the means, or just keep their head down and hope for this to end. Obviously I know there are shitbird Russians who support Putler, but there are also a lot who just don't know what else to do but try to keep living their life and hope they see the end of this before their life is destroyed.
  10. Oh, I agree. Listed them at midnight when our game ended for around what I paid for them hoping to catch a drunk Michigan or Husky fan. Dropped to about 10% below the prevailing price in my and neighboring sections around 10:30 or 11 Tuesday morning and they were sold within a couple of hours. Prices this morning are below what I sold for and not selling. The TX/USC Rose Bowl was an outlier. Another one was Georgia vs. Bama CFP Championship game at the end of the 2017 season in ATLANTA. My son and I had planned a trip to that game early in the season. It was Georgia's first Championship opportunity in close to 40 years. I watched tix on that for a while anticipating / hoping for a drop that never came. Ended up paying close to double what I had originally anticipated but by then my son and I were sitting in our hotel in Atlanta starting to figure out what time we should head over to the stadium. I think this game in Houston with Texas (especially if it had been Texas vs. Michigan) would have been ridiculous for ticket prices. I rolled the dice and lost, but
  11. Walk of Shame time... Bought two on Dec. 3rd, lower bowl 15 yard line "Texas Washington" side for a smooth 3k per ticket including fees. Sold today for 1.8k per ticket net of fees. In general, the listing prices still seem too high, I'm anticipating prices in that area will end up in the 650-850 range by gameday.
  12. I don't remember the quote exactly, but back when my older kids were little I read some book talking about raising kids, etc. and the line that stood out to me was something to the effect of "you don't build a relationship with your teenager, you build the relationship with your teenager when they are in elementary school." Teen years can be tough, but patience is your friend.
  13. Did you get much younger at that position or is your wife older than average also? I'm asking as someone who had my last at 41 while my wife was 40. I can't imagine a whole lot older.
  14. It'd be cooler if it was 420
  15. Hang in there man. 23 year old daughter and my wife had a terrible run from age 16-21. It has gotten better from age 21-23 (1,000 miles of distance helps) but if they are around each other for more than 4 or 5 days I start to see some of the old fire. Shot of me exiting the scene when they get started these days.
  16. To the comment above, I have 21-year-old son and a 10-year-old son. The difference in the parents' attitudes toward letting their boys play football between those two ages has been remarkable. My 21-year-old had 2 tackle football teams for his private North Dallas elementary school by 3rd grade back in 2011 or so. My 10-year-old son, they can barely field a flag team. I think 3 kids started playing tackle independently in 5th grade this year but no team of school kids was formed. I'll be surprised if there are more than about 15 kids (out of around 60 boys versus I think my older son's class had about 40-45 out of 60 boys) who come out for 7th-grade tackle football in a couple of years. I know North Dallas private schools are NOT the most fertile of recruiting grounds but participation levels are declining elsewhere I'll bet.
  17. We had him do a Cameo for my son's 10th birthday earlier this year. He went above and beyond my expectations for something like that. https://www.cameo.com/dickerthekicker It was awesome. My son couldn't believe it. He has my vote!!
  18. [csb]When our youngest was a newborn we did a family photo session with a friend who is a photographer to the rich and famous around here. During the session she starts telling us stories about some of the people she has shot and my favorite was about one of the Mavs who she did a session for with his wife and kids along with two other baby mamas and the kids from those. Some Male / Female / Kid shots and some entire group shots. Photographer said she was nervous the whole time but that they all seemed perfectly fine with it. [\csb]
  19. it's almost criminal that Helton lasted 7 years there. It's like they just gave up after the shenanigans that led to him.
  20. I lean toward four 20 team leagues is probably where things settle. (2 auto bids to the playoff for each and 4 at-large based on committee selection (seeding also set by committee) Agree that a contract between player and school is probably coming in an attempt to slow down the transfer whirlwind.
  21. I didn't say it had to be a recent photo. Besides, don't pre-judge what might do it for me.
