  1. I mean, we're set up to be back here for years to come. From our starting lineup, we lose 1b, 3b, and sometimes DH next year. We return TK (2 more years), Reese (1 more year), Stewart (2 more years), get our starting SS back who was injured preseason and we have a great recruiting class coming in. We're built to stay.
  2. Sure, but it was to shallow center. Really not hard contact at all. She can't do anything about the error either. The one thing I worry about... She's mentioned trusting her defense and allowing herself to pitch to contact. With all of the errors, does she start to try and push for strikeouts and start overthrowing, losing a bit of control? That's the only thing I'm worried about
  3. Did it though? TK faced 4 batters: 1) Sac Fly 2) ground ball to first, E-3 3) HBP 4) ground out to SS. Of the 4 batters, she pitched well enough to get 3 of them out and none got hard contact. Didn't give up a base hit.
  4. She's had at least 2, maybe even 3 swings that were very very close foul ball home runs. She can make hard contact against her
  5. I would've rather kept Ange. Either the team improves next year or we suck again, we sack him, and maybe there are better options available. I personally like the coach at Brighton, but has only had 1 year in the premier league. Next year, after two years of consistency maybe he's worth a shot. Or maybe there's a standout candidate from elsewhere in Europe.
  6. I'm just not really that excited about alternative options. Is Thomas Frank really going to be the guy that gets us back to the top 5?
  7. I saw you calling us out on the Baseball thread 😂
  8. Pacific time zone this year... Was central last year. But I do tend to watch most of the regular season games or at least keep up through this thread if I can't. I also rather enjoy posting Instagram links from everyone's favorite reserve pitcher, i.e. the only one that didn't pitch last night
  9. A lot of people are harping on this, but I think this is an over exaggeration. Some of the greatest pitchers of all time don't have a national championship including Cat, including Abbott (NCAA career leader in Wins, Strikeouts, Shutouts, Single season strikeouts, etc). Canady is a once in a decade type of pitcher. Looking at career ERAs, the top 14 are all from the 80s, then it's 1 from the early 90s, then it's Cat, then it's a mixture of 80s, 90s, early 2000s until you get to Canady's current career ERA of 0.79. Canady has the lowest career ERA and only sub 1.0 career ERA since 2010, at least from what I could see on Wikipedia. If a once in a decade type of player shows up in any sport, they're are going to give any team they are on a shot at winning titles.
  10. The shoulder rotation motion is much more natural than the elbow hyperextension that occurs in baseball (the shoulder is designed to be able to rotate like the after all. Elbow isn't designed to hyperextend). So there is certainly less arm fatigue in softball compared to baseball and less injury risk with increasing pitch counts. Legs with the leg drive will get fatigued faster than arms. Someone above mentioned wrist/hand fatigue because that's what generates the spin rate. So you likely won't see a huge drop in velocity, but could potentially see less movement and less pinpoint control.
  11. LOL find one person who has said he coached this game well. That's not the argument. You keep saying he needs to be FIRED if we lose. If you fire him, this program gets worse, guaranteed. There's only one coach in the country that I would confidently say is better than him.
  12. Give me a name? #1 team entering post season: A&M, coach choked it away in the regionals lol #2 team OU, only sure thing. #3 team, Florida, coach didn't pitch his ace in the elimination game and they lost in the quarterfinals #4 Arkansas lost to unseeded Ole Miss at home #5 Florida State swept by Tech at home #6 Texas So on and so forth. Which of those coaches are you taking?
  13. Ok dude, like I agree that his decisions tonight were terrible, but you need to step off of the firing ledge or just go ahead and jump, because he's coaching here. This is a program which has been mostly solid with a few sprinkles of elite, but had never gotten to the final series. He's gotten us there 3 out of the last 4 years. You fire him, who do you go get? The only likely guarantee to win a national championship is the coach sitting up at OU. No other coach has done a better job than Mike White over the last 4 years.
  14. That changeup is so ridiculous
  15. Salmon? Interesting....
  16. Mac is a drop ball pitcher. Very different from Kavan. I'm sure the thought is get Tech batters off rhythm and get them swinging low and then being in Kavan with the rise and the heat. Mac can also hit 70 on those drop balls, which is extraordinary difficult to hit if she's getting the low strike call. I probably would've started Kavan, but I see the reasoning. She shut down a good Tennessee offense just last week.
  17. Double play time. Just like we are drawing it up
  18. Down the line camera angle was conclusive, wish we had that angle yesterday.
  19. I resemble that remark.
  20. Sorry if already posted, but SEC Now postgame said that Canady has only intentionally walked a batter twice in her entire career.
  21. The steal wasn't on ball 4, it was on ball 2 I think.
