  1. Lol I've seen so many posts saying "Boo hoo Sark played for the field goal, he's such a pussy, wah wah wah" Anyone who actually thinks that watches this game way too emotionally and doesn't know what they are actually watching and everything is filtered through your own confirmation bias. Just to remind you of the sequence. With two time outs left. First down-shot at the end zone, incomplete. Second down - 7 yard rush, time out. If Sark was playing for the field goal, you let the clock run down here. But they took a time out expecting that they would be able to convert on 3rd and 3. I guarantee you that if this second down run gets stuffed and it's a 3rd and long, then it would've been a shot at the end zone. But since it was third and short, now you're thinking, we have a chance to get a first and get extra chances. At this point, Wisener is averaging about 4 yards per carry. Not great, but he just got a 7 yard run. You expect him to be able to pick up 3 yards. In fact, watching the game back, Sark calls the exact same run play with just a slightly different motion because Arky is playing the exact same defense. He's expecting to get the first down there. If Tre gets the first down, clock stops, now you've got THREE shots at the end zone with 30 seconds left instead of one shot on a 3rd and 3, which is apparently what many of you wanted instead. That run had just gone for 7 yards...Sark was playing for the first down, not for the field goal. Again, get the first down, now you've got 3 shots at the end zone with 30 seconds left and a time out. Third down - Alas, Tre does not get the first down. Penetration in the right A gap forces him to improvise. Not getting the first down there screwed up the plan. Now it's 4th down, in FG range, and you get the ball back coming out of halftime. Take the points.
  2. Must be the next D'Onta Foreman.
  3. I love the way he set up his block on the touchdown run. Started outside to keep the defender there, then jumped back inside when he knew the pulling guard was arriving. Perfection. He high points better than our WRs and sets up blocks better than our RBs lol
  4. Lol "respectfully" violent. Loved the post match interview.
  5. Acceptance and money. I know plenty that were rejected by Texas and accepted by A&M. Couple that with being from the RGV...A&M actually offers a ton of financial aid. Hell, they offered to match my full academic scholarship offer that I had from Nebraska.
  6. Bold of you to assume that he has a girlfriend. Or is straight.
  7. Without looking, I would bet that the argument is something like: Texas A&M is a lock for the playoffs win or lose. Texas needs a win to have a chance at the playoffs and the SEC wants to get another team in. Advantage Texas.
  8. Caldwell has only been here this year and he has no eligibility left. I swear, some of y'all don't even pay attention to this program on Sunday-Friday.
  9. Lol "real Texas fan" ok. Real Texas fans enjoy watching Texas play well. It actually upsets you.
  10. I truly wonder why you keep coming here and pretending to be a Texas fan.
  11. Go back and count how many "but all of their losses are by less than 1 score!!!!" posts. This could've been a dangerous game, but offense kept their foot on the gas and defense kept hitting.
  12. Maybe it's just the sports fandom culture in America, but remember, this was a Wemby idea (I think). Look at European basketball fans and the home court atmosphere they produce. Or European soccer fans like the yellow wall of Dortmund behind the goal I love going to Spurs games. But you go, you watch the game, you cheer when good things happen, maybe you chant "De-fense" a couple of times... Outside of the playoffs, there's no real atmosphere. They want fan engagement. They want chants. They want songs. And they want it all season long.
  13. If he's trying to Ted Lasso them, he needs to take them into the sewers, duh.
  14. Just get some Warby Parker glasses instead.
  15. If that had happened here, Surly would've been looking for reasons to send Freeman home on the spot. IDK if Sark will rally from this loss or this season. But based on on field performance, I think he should get next year to prove it. Another bad loss next year with no playoffs? Send his ass packing.
  16. Can you imagine if we lost to, idk, Northern Illinois in year 3 of a coaches tenure?
  17. I didn't realize that Bama made their head coach "clean out his desk" this year. Mea culpa. I just think it's so stupid how people on this board come up with these fantasies in their head and project them as fact. "Hyuck hyuck, Georgia would've made him clean out his desk already, we don't have the right mindset". No, Georgia let Mark Richt hang around for 15 years full of solid but mostly unspectacular seasons. Then they got lucky that Nick Saban's right hand man was an alumnus.
  18. LOL based on what? The fact that Georgia let Mark Richt hang around for 15 years? Richt lost 4 games or more SIX times while at Georgia, but sure, they would've kicked Sark to the curb already.
  19. Apparently, if you dig into the financials, the Boston Red Sox actually paid the Yankees to take Babe Ruth off of their hands. Sold for $100,000 + interest Red Sox then covered $10,000 in salary increase over the next couple of years. Red Sox owner also took a personal loan from Yankees owner as part of the deal for $300,000. (Supposedly to either acquire a Broadway theater or to fund a Broadway musical). By the time it was paid off, they had paid an additional approximately $105,000 in interest. So the Yankees owner actually made money from the Red Sox by taking Babe Ruth from them. https://sabr.org/journal/article/sale-of-the-century-the-yankees-bought-babe-ruth-for-nothing/
  20. My senior year at Weslaco, we were matched up against SA Madison in the third round. My coach wanted home/home, the other coach wanted a neutral site. So they flipped. My coach won. So now they need to decide whose home to play at. So they flip again. My coach won, so they had to drive the 4 hours down to the RGV. Now... Their coach wanted to play Friday night and my coach, probably just because he enjoys being stubborn and difficult, decided that he wanted to play Saturday afternoon. So they flip again. We played on Saturday afternoon.
  21. You know as much as I do. I just saw the Instagram post and found it interesting. I assume JS1 is correct... She has not been given any indication as of yet that she's being fired, so she's still recruiting and probably landed a commitment.
  22. Sark: "They hate Texas more than they like themselves" Pittman: "I would say he's probably right"
