  1. Most of the greats honestly. I'm not talking about outcomes here necessarily, but being that dude means believing you're that dude which means taking the shots in the 4th quarter. Tatum is deferring in the 4th. Repeatedly.
  2. I would also suggest that Derek fucking Fisher was about the level of the ghost of Kyle Lowry, who is the third best player for this Heat team. Simple stats don't tell the whole story but FWIW: source And Odom was close to averaging a double double in 2009 while Ariza gave them 11 ppg shooting 48% from 3. Strus might be the closest comp to Ariza but he's hitting 10% lower on 3 balls and is nowhere near the level of defender Ariza was. And Jimmy is matching Kobe's playoff numbers. Kobe 2009: 30.2/5.5/5.3 on splits of 48/35/88. Butler 2023: 31.1/5.6/6.6 on splits of 55/37/81. It's not just recency bias. Butler has really been that good in these playoffs. People keep wanting to point to career achievement, but that's not the consideration. In just this playoff season alone, Butler has been sublime despite playing with guys that don't get off the bench for just about any other playoff team. Bam obviously is the exception, but Lowry, who's getting 25 min/gm, is probably the 3rd guy off the bench at best for Boston. And let's not forget great uncle Love getting almost 20 minutes per game to throw outlet passes and give fouls.
  3. Very surprised to see you doubling down on the Tatum love. I don't think anyone believes he sucks, but he is not that dude. Ain't nobody afraid of Tatum beating you in a close game down the stretch.
  4. TMac's peak was just too short. At his best he was up there with anyone but he just didn't last long enough at that level to make a laying mark in fans minds.
  5. That's editing the video for effect. Dude is just turning to runs down the court. The refs mostly suck and a few are almost certainly dirty but that video is not evidence of it.
  6. How you gonna let a guy who is leaving anyway tell you to fire your coach?
  7. well, he's known how to handle a roster payroll since he got into coaching, so that's not going to be an adjustment.
  8. Disagree that Davis had a bad night on defense. Jokic was so good it just didn't matter. Second half with Davis as the help defense he was very good other than poor effort on a few closeouts.
  9. Huh? I mean the coaches never adjusted last night as the Lakers kept eating into the lead while Denver's offense stagnated
  10. Lakers playing Vanderbilt more leaves them with less scoring punch. They are going to have to get buckets from somebody other than LBJ and AD b/c the nuggets have 5 guys capable of getting 20+ every night. Murray might not give you 30 every night but his playoff average is around 25, which is enough with Jokic playing at his current level and other guys hitting open shots like they were last night. Gordon didn't play great last night but still scored at around his playoff average. He was phenomenal against PHX especially on the defensive end and they need him to bring that energy against the Lakers more than they need him to score more buckets. If the Lakers pull off this series it will be because of injury luck or a contagious cold snap among Denver's shooters.
  11. Or, not adjust at all as was the case last night.
  12. Poeltl would make a lot more sense than the other two just based on probable cost (Vucevic likely wants 18-25M/yr) and timeline (Lopez is in the wrong half of his 30s for a team still 3 years from contention). I hate him as a focal point of any team, Ayton is a reasonably talented big who's still young enough to develop his game further. And he might be the type of project that the Spurs culture really turns around. I wouldn't hate it if the Spurs used picks and cap space to trade for him. In my fever dream there's a PHX-IND-SA 3-way deal where picks and salary filler go from SA to IND, Turner goes from IND to PHX, and Ayton and cash go from PHX to SA.
  13. I don't know that Rui in jokic is about the one in one defense so much as it is the freedom it gives to Davis to help.
  14. I mean fuck that post up with ad providing help. Let joker bring it up and use Gordon as a screener to pull AD away from the rim.
  15. If Murray is hitting like this consistently Lakers have no chance.
  16. Man I don't know some of you guys live like this. Most days my wife is the only person I know I like. That includes my kids who are both teenagers and therefore by definition assholes.
  17. Do nothing is a better idea than bringing in harden to mold young players. Would you like to appoint Ghislaine Maxwell principal of the all girls middle school too?
  18. Now do the shooting percentages. But yeah, what I mean is he's never going to turn it around mid game. When he's on he's as good as anyone. When it's a bad first half, just send him home.
  19. Dude's a dumbass but no way this warrant a year long suspension. That's like beating up a spouse, gambling on hoops, type stuff. Making a stupid IG Live post that looks bad without breaking any laws or anyone getting hurt? Double the last fine, miss 10 games, move one.

  21. Tatum has one great game while Butler has been consistently great in the playoffs. Tatum seems to really be a front runner. Not in the sense of a talking shit but just not being able to overcome adversity and will a victory when things are not firing on all cylinders.
  22. You make it sound like I have chance of building a time machine and hooking up a threesome in 1998 with Liv Tyler and Heather Graham.
  23. Refs going in dry on Boston the last couple of minutes.
  24. Tattoo this lyric on his forearm Wannabe, gonnabe, cock sucking, pussy-eating pranksters Is when the fire dies down what the fuck you gonna do
