  1. It looks like it may have bounced off of 510 but it's retreating again?
  2. I seriously doubt this management and operating contract gives decision making powers to Strategic Storage Partners. Come the fuck on man. The guy is wielding tariff powers that aren't granted in the constitution (among other things) but he's going to pay someone else $280MM to tell him when the SPR will release crude?
  3. That's where the fig leaf and GOP propaganda apparatus come in. A malignant narcissist can convince himself that his plan worked brilliantly even when it's still a fully engulfed dumpster fire. eta: We saw this in Dotard 1.0 where we went through all kind of chaos with Canada and Mexico only to rebrand NAFTA and declare victory. I can still remember talking to people that were convinced we got a better deal as a result of the chaos. Same with China. Sure we had to bailout the farmers, but we got a totally new deal with China!!!!!1!!1!!!!!one!!!!
  4. This is just it though. Trump has already shown he'll do a 180 if he can just get some kind of fig leaf "concession" so he can remove the tariff and declare victory. I think there has already been some long lasting damage done by betraying our partners, but that doesn't mean the market won't go right back to being irrational af. I've got pretty much everything in cash or money markets right now, but I might start layering back in if the S&P sheds another 5%. This is all just so fucking stupid though.
  5. At least we've got a steady hand at the tiller. Someone who can admit when they've made a mistake and correct course. amirite?
  6. JP Morgan's chief economist Bruce Kasman seems to think this might not be a normal correction.
  7. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/03/small-cap-benchmark-russell-2000-becomes-first-major-us-stock-measure-to-enter-bear-market.html Tis but a scratch.
  8. NSIAP. It looks like the adults in charge may have used AI to come up with this horseshit tariff rate calc.
  9. Kickass, nat gas is up 3% today!
  10. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! How low can we go? SO MUCH WINNING! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of it.
  11. I opened my CNBC app to take a quick look at the market and see "TSLA shares rise on unconfirmed report Musk could be leaving his DOGE post soon." I fail to see how this will improve sales, but the stock is up almost 4% at the moment.
  12. She didn't give a wet fart fuck about any of Trump's fuckery until it punched HER in the mouth. "Some government spending is needed and appropriate!?" WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE BILLIONAIRES!?
  13. This is a new one for me and I'm filing it away for future use. Hearing it for the first time did the opposite of make me angry.
  14. I'm pretty sure I know the guy who made the top comment here. I know he didn't vote for Trump, but the last time I talked to him and one of his partners before the election they were unsure if they could vote for Kamala. This is Texas, so I don't know if that sentiment was prevalent enough to make any difference, but I chastised them at the time nonetheless.
  15. It does seem like this is going to go all the way to the championship game. Or someone is going to get lucky on an upset before they run out of teams. This is way more fun than a regular bracket btw. Thanks again @HornOnTheBayou for setting it up.
  16. Your strategy looks better than mine at this point. I'm going to run out of teams left to pick from if today stays chalky.
  17. The appeals to think about the children and our untenable debt situation might land a little bit better if all of this pain and suffering would actually lead to a balanced budget and maybe even reducing the national debt. Buuuut, this fuckery isn't even going to fully offset the tax cuts that are coming. So maybe, just maybe, this whole shit show isn't about fiscal responsibility and efficiency after all?
  18. I agree with Heathrow Express not being bad at all, but I've only been there by myself. If I had the whole family and their luggage I'd probably hire a car. If you have Apple Pay set up on your phone you can just wave it at the turnstile for the Heathrow Express or the tube. It's so easy. @Dbeasy
  19. I had Tech at first but switched to Bama this afternoon. Shit gets really real on Saturday.
  20. Give the propaganda machine a few days. The only person to see any consequences from this will be Goldberg. I hope I’m wrong but courage is extinct in the GQP.
  21. Keep digging.
