Mr Gatti's
I used to audit Mr Gatti's when I was in SA in the late 90s. Their HQ was in the hill country in a big house with original western art all over the place. It was strange, but cool. /csb

Colorado Vacation Destinations - Not Quite So Crowded, But Still Cool
Glenwood is not close to Grand Lake.

Hi Fi and Home theater set ups
I have those Sonys as well. Sound is great as is the noise canceling. My only complaint is that they get hot.

Forgot that you can also raft Clear Creek (starting from Empire area - there are a few outfits that do it) as well, but that's a good hour from Grand Lake so might be too far.

There are crazy people everywhere. And Marv was nuts, no doubt about it.

You can ride the Gondola at WP. And it's free if you have an Ikon pass. Otherwise you need to pay for it. The alpine slide is gone as of now. They are putting a new one in but it's not in right now. There's putt putt golf at the WP resort base as well, but it's not a great course since it's covered in snow half the year. There are a ton of flat biking trails in the WP and Fraser area as well as more challenging ones if that's what you want (I can be more specific if this is what you want). A lot of people like biking the Fraser to WP trail and stopping at breweries along the way for a beer. Monarch Lake is a ~4 mile hike around the lake that is mostly flat. You can always go part of the way and turn around. It's a beautiful lake and you drive right up to it. There are a ton of hikes in RMNP but unless you get in early, you'll need a timed entry permit. You can fish in the Fraser River as well as the Colorado. Not sure there is any tubing (would be really cold), but there might be some outfits that will raft you down the CO.

Downhill mountain biking is not for the faint of heart. Lots of folks get seriously injured doing that. But to each his own. What is the fitness/activity level for the group? That will determine a lot of suggestions.

Where Should I Retire...?
If you get SAD, Denver is great for that. 300 days of sunshine a year. And I've never worn a fleece to dinner in June unless you're in the mountains.

NBA Offseason Thread 2024 - Fuck you, pay me
It's been a rough offseason. Not gonna lie. They have to get another ball handler off the bench and get rid of Nnaji's contract.

Bronny James
Especially if they were drafted during a Taco Bell Quesarito commercial.

Where Should I Retire...?
Make sure you visit Evergreen in winter. It may be close to Denver but it is in the mountains when it comes to weather. Some (including me) love that. But not everyone. It's still winter in April and early May.

Yeah, you should be fine.

Where Should I Retire...?
I've never had trouble getting in with specialists in Denver. Finding a PCP can be challenging, though.

Where Should I Retire...?
It was hot as fuck when I was in Santa Fe earlier this summer. But I'm coming from CO, not the seventh level of hell that is Houston.

Yeah, Friday afternoons on I-70 in the summer are a shit show. Combine that with the Floyd Hill construction and good luck. What time you driving up tomorrow? I'd check Waze before you pick a route but 70 will likely be your best bet. Saturdays aren't as bad as Fridays but they can still be busy.

Where Should I Retire...?
Portugal has a Golden Visa program where you invest a minimum of 500k Euros in Portugal based funds and after 5 years you get residency. Used to apply to real estate but they shut that down as it caused a housing crisis in the popular areas. Spain used to have one as well, I believe.

Where Should I Retire...?
Little to no homeless in the areas you'd be looking at, but downtown has definitely had problems since the pandemic. City is working hard to remedy that though housing and services.

Where Should I Retire...?
Man, I just don't get New Mexico. It's just depressing every time I go there. And terribly hot (which may or may not bother you).

Where Should I Retire...?
I'll echo what a lot of others have said. I think Cherry Creek/Wash Park/Hilltop neighborhoods in Denver would fit what you want really well and you should be able to get something nice (but probably not that big) within your budget. Maybe LoHi as well, but make sure whatever you get has parking if you do that.

2024 Paris Summer Olympics - Death Squad
Embiid hasn't played Jokic outside of Philly since 2019. We have no idea how he'll play him in the Olympics. I wouldn't count on him, though. Look at that cheap shot elbow from last night. He's soft and he's dirty. He'll foul out early (again). I think Bam is probably their best defender against Jok.

The New Car Fanatic Thread
I'm not a fan of the BMWs, but I think the Porsche and Audi look really nice. I can't decide if I like the MB or not.
