  1. The building’s foundations are sinking into a subterranean creek under the building and it’s basically all asbestos and lead. There is no parking, so they had to put it underground, which is standard in dc since we have building height limits. Covid and inflation has made it super expensive. All the other gov buildings were built in the 60s-70s and are nearish to code, or got overhauled in the 80s-90s. The fed is over 100 years old and has never been overhauled/brought to standard. If it were anything else, it would be a tear down.
  2. I am so glad Jason Kander is taking care of this mental health, but there is a real part of me that wonders “What if?”
  3. Also, Merrick Garland is a bowl of room temperature pudding.
  4. Does anyone still have the Penn State Bowl Game Pedo Bear Gif?
  5. But also, we need to have a federal holiday in the middle of that month that’s based on the birthdays of some of the men who propagated the current system of governance that treated Gingers as 3/5 of a human being for the purposes of ensuring the people who REALLY liked subjugation of gingers would be in charge, at least until we had a huge civil war where we agreed you couldn’t own gingers, just treat them like shit. also:
  6. Everyone that's pitched me just makes me angry. LIke, I can not beat the market for free. I don't need to pay you to put me in a moderately aggressive etf blend. Or god forbid, Direct Indexing.
  7. Maybe I haven't seen enough of his act, but he comes off as a guy who generates a lot of headlines for a pretty mid comedian. He doesn't elicit nearly enough chuckles when I watch his specials for me to keep seeing him pop up in my feed with somebody having a hot take on whatever he's done this week. He's sort of the anti-Bill Burr in the sense that my sides hurt at the end of every Bill Burr special, so if people want to have an angle on this bit or that, I'm fine with it since in total Burr is fucking hilarious.
  8. I did not open this thread expecting to find a bunch of Anti-Ginger stuff and a dipshit defending "Redskins," but this is absolutely the worst timeline, so: IDC about the Guardians, that's a Cleveland problem, from a DC perspective, becuase Trump can cancel DC's lease on the RFK stadium site, he actually could affect the Commanders future plans. Harris can't build unless he can secure financing, which as of yesterday's tweet is now in jeopardy. Most directly, if VA goes Blue in the 2025 off year elections, the chances that Virginia offers the Commanders a fully paid stadium, with retail and development rights somewhere in the DC exurbs is very, very strong. Everyone wants the staidum on the old RFK site, but if the money is right, Harris isn't going to say no and the Owners will lean on him to take a deal with no private financiing/buy in. As the 49ers discovered, you can always B roll the city night shots for MNF.
  9. No, silly, we are MAHA by switching over to an ingredient with an import tariff and a domestic production cap. Americans pay 200% more for sugar than anyone else in the world. US Sugar is undefeated.
  10. This is the problem I have. a .85% annual AUM drag on my account for tax advice is just not worth it to me. Like, I want good tax advice and financial planning, but not at that cost.
  11. It was a damn good looking movie, but the tonal shift to vampires in the 3rd Act (and I like vampire movies, of all varieties) was jarring. As a metaphor for race relations, it was a pretty mixed grab bag, partially undone by the script (Like, what happen to the Choctaw Vampire Hunters?). The movie was trying to say something about rece relations and music, as well, but again, it was confusing at best. I though Michael B. Jordan did a very entertaining job playing Stack and Smoke, and good lord does Hailee Steinfeld have a mouth on her. And like almost every movie made these days, it would have benefited from a stronger editorial hand to shave 15-20 minutes off the run time. Still, I'd watch it again just because of how good it looked. Movies these days just rarely entertain the eyes the way Sinners did.
  12. In all fairness....have you met the Democratic party?
  13. That third button is holding on for dear life.
  14. He’s your problem rn. Once he wins the primary, he potentially becomes my problem. DC is a transactional place.
  15. Until you don’t….
  16. Ah. Whoopsie. Delete post. Ban user.
  17. How are we three fucking pages in and I'm the one posting this clip?
  18. FWIW, I'm in DC, so I generally don't pay attention to primaries unless something like this blows up, or the primary winner is a lock. But your point is well taken.
  19. Hi. First time caller, also first time listener… Can someone give me the background tea here on the divorce? I know Paxton is a corrupt piece of shit, but I haven’t followed him closely and hadn’t planned to unless he won the Senate primary.
