  1. And yet, the Jamaican girl that wanted to quit somehow made me start rooting for her. She finds out she survived and wasn't the least bit happy and still wanted to quit. Rainbow Bright is standing there crying her eyes out because she doesn't get to play anymore. Couldn't stand that team, but I wish they'd have survived one more week so we won't have to hear Jamaica complain about having to do a competition she fucking signed up for. Fuck her.
  2. Read this thread post game. I enjoyed your work in this thread.
  3. Stop. It’s down to once a year. Maybe twice. Good news for you is your on our upcoming schedule. Someone is getting the gift W. Or are they? Maybe this is the year.

For the record, I don’t care that you don’t like a show I like. I don’t respect you or your opinion enough to care. I just care that you pollute threads with your sad cries for attention when the adults are trying to discuss it. I can’t speak for everybody, but it wouldn’t surprise me if I’m speaking for most posters here

Wtf? You sure you aren’t confusing me with you? Oh wait, I’m not a fucking retard so probably not.

It’s called The Challenge. He literally describes the game of BB and then bitches because he doesn’t like the game he just described. Yet he continues to watch it and bitch about it. Such a Derka.

Maybe you should stop watching it. If you're looking for more shows to stop watching, I'd be happy to give you a list.

Maybe you saw it a lot because it's true? I'm not hinting at anything. I'm saying it. Except the shitty people part. I was referring to some of the awful former HGs. But did you not see the dozen posts saying the only reason she won was wokeness? What else would they be referring to? Hot chick bias? Pageant girl bias? They are without a doubt saying the only reason she won was because she's an AA woman and totally discounting the more subtle nuanced game she played. She did exactly what she had to do to win the game. Monty did exactly what he needed to do to lose it. It wasn't wokeness. It wasn't a bitter jury. It was a masterful display of jury manipulation and it makes her an all-timer in my book.

If I had to guess, I’d say it means vote against the shitty bullies and racists this game continually casts and vote to change how players play the game going forward. BB is a game or bullying. Always has been. Lock people in a house 24/7 and they’re worst side eventually comes out. Kind of like this thread. You guys should be applauding her for withstanding all the shit treatment she got with class and grace. Not once did she react in a shitty way. Legendary performance by her and people are bitching about the parts of her resume that falls short of Monty’s and completely disregarding the parts of her resume where she destroyed him by a much wider margin. I’d say I guess it depends on what you think is important, but that isn’t what this is about.

I think it's kind of like baseball analytics. Yeah Monty had more HRs, RBIs, and a higher batting average. They were fairly hollow stats that didn't really do that much for his game until the very end. Nothing else in his game impressed me, or the jury obviously. He had an easy ride this season. The jury doesn't know everything that we know and it's player's job to relate that to them so they will see them as a worthy winner. Monty did a TERRIBLE job at that and Taylor gave probably the best final argument in BB history. At the end of the day, what matters more to you and me is irrelevant. We know more than the jury and Monty and Taylor's actions had zero emotional effect on us or our opinion. Every season we have this debate about jury management. Taylor managed and manipulated the jury into giving her first place. I have been told every season that that is part of the game. The game doesn't end until the votes are cast. It seems like a lot of people are forgetting that this year and some of them instantly go straight to "wokeness" as the reason. I don't remember hearing too many complaints when Paul lost to Josh and that was a bitter jury. This jury wasn't bitter. They were manipulated by an exceptional public speaker. It sure seems like the rules change around her an awful lot.
  11. They're Targaryens. Maybe they are all vapid empty husks of human beings and there is nothing to flesh out. They are rich, spoiled and entitled. Outside of the dragons, the current generation of Targs kind of suck. I doubt we're going to have any "OMG, they cut Eddard's head off!" moments in this series because none of them are all that likeable, honorable, or humorous at this stage. We know from the books that damn near every single character in this series is going to die. Unless we find someone to root for, and I don't believe I ever took sides while reading the book, this might be an entire series full of satisfying Little Finger and King Joffrey deaths and very little Eddard and Hodor deaths. Is there one character we've met yet where their death would affect you emotionally? I can think of a bunch from GOT. I'm not even sure character development would help with these people. These are mostly shitty people doing shitty things. Fuck 'em. Bring on the dragons and let's start killing them.
  12. Bump so we never have to return to the illiterati thread

I'm going to guess you didn't even listen to the jury questions or their speeches. Obviously you think anything that benefits someone who isn't a white male is wokeism. Maybe go back and watch her kick the living shit out of him in the questions and closing speech. He literally used the same answer for 2 of his 3 questions. And all of his answers were awful. She had a clear plan going in, knew the best way to answer any questions, and gave the best final speech in BB history. Monte went in like he was winging it and it showed. The jury got it right.
  14. The Handmaid's Tale has started as well. And if you haven't seen The Patient on Apple, it's really good too. Sounded like you needed more on your plate.
  15. I don't remember seeing that in the show, but I remember reading it somewhere. You may have violated the sanctity of this thread and we have to kill you now.
  16. In case it wasn't answered, Balerion died and dragon riders don't usually ride a new dragon when theirs die. And if they do, it sure wouldn't be a pussy like King V who does it.
  17. Damn dude. Did you read the book? That’s exactly what happens. Though it’s Daemon who wakes up and goes to the shower.. you know the rest.
  18. I'm not even sure we can blame him. I read the book twice and all I could think while reading it was "please make this the prequel". Not once did it pop into my brain how limited that would be. Blinded by dragons I guess. The book is written in an odd way in that it is more of a chronicling of the history of the Targ house told by a maester. It's like listening to one of Old Nan's stories. There's no internal dialog and any character who isn't a Targ or on the great council is pretty minor character and really only mentioned in passing. If you don't know what any of the characters were actually thinking, it probably makes it harder to really develop the characters. Once the Dance starts all those non-Targ characters will probably start to become pretty expendable and interchangeable. Someone has to get burned up by dragons and it can't just be Targs dying. So we have that to look forward to at least.

Sound like your mind is already made up, but that's the exact question Michael asked Turner. Michael's crime was asking Turner why even bring the LGBT stuff up if you didn't mean it.
  20. When they were kicking around prequal ideas, I found it stunning that they decided to go with the Naomi Watts show about the Age of Heroes. If you gave me 10 prequal/sequal ideas for GOT and that was one of the choices, I don't care what the other 9 options are, that period is finishing in 10th place. Maybe 9th place if one of the options is The Story of Hot Pie. I thought a prequal on the Targs was the way to go, but I'd have like to have started at the beginning (Aegon's Conquest) and we just work our way up to where we are now. Going back to The Doom would have been even better. Spend a season on the rise and fall of Valria, spend a season or two on the Conquest, and then start hauling ass through the decades. Not much happend during Jaehaerys' 50+ year reign. Where we started this season probably should have been the start of season 4 or 5. The Dance of Dragons should have been the big climax to the series since it basically signaled the end of the Targs and their dragons. Perfection would have been to take it all the way through Robert's Rebellion. That would be a comprehensive history of the HOD. And pretty fucking cool.
  21. You may have it on the big problem. This show is really only about one thing right now. Who is going to inherit the throne? They would have to just say 'screw the source material. Let's go see what else we can imagine was going on in Westeros." They actually did that with the Crabfeeder. Apparently the book devoted about 3 sentences to the whole Stepstones issue (I don't even remember reading it). So the show runners are probably aware of what people are complaining about, they just don't know how to fix it. Or they are just thinking they'll put up with the bitching knowing once the Dance of Dragons starts, everybody will be freaking the fuck out about how awesome it is. As a reader of the "word that shall not be said", I'm extremely optimistic that if they stick to the source material, we're all going to be pretty fucking happy. We do need to jump forward in time pronto though. It feels like they've devoted more time to this time period in the show than they did in the ****.
  22. Most of us have transitioned a little better in accepting some level of success than you over the past 15 years. It's an uphill battle trusting any OSU team. It helps me to step outside my bubble and look around the country and realize bad shit happens to a lot of programs every week. We don't have a monopoly on it and really, if you think about it, probably have less head scratching shitty stuff happen to us than 90% of the programs out there. Usually now if we lose, it's because we didn't play well enough. Maybe it was growing up in a state with a program that rarely had bad shit happen to them all season (not counting bowl games/post season) that warped us into thinking everything should be roses all the time. Sports fandom is a tough business.
  23. It could be a couple of things. They may just be doing Frost a solid because he’s a legendary player. Or there is shit going on behind the scenes and he is so fucking incompetent, think John Blake with OU, that every day he was there he destroyed the program a little more
  24. To be fair, even we think Homer is a bit too doom and gloom. And we are a doomy and gloomy bunch. He probably needs professional help.
