Im not sure anyone seriously suggested that. I mean, the pass was on the money but it looked like a 7th grader threw it🤣🤣😂😂

Bro. We talk a lot of shit on the board. But there is literally no one I wouldn't sit down and have a beer with or stop on the side of the road for. Thats what makes us better than aggy. Let's not take the disrespect over the line.
-
I do. Funny that it was the same player that we were talking about too. Tre Wisner.
-
Yeah. Let's not do that. We are above that here.

I was super excited to see Arch check the ball down multiple times. Those check downs where he is trusting his guys to make a play even though the ball was short of the sticks is exactly what I was talking about on that Florida play. So we started with off-script, big game hunter Arch. This game he added the Check down Charlie aspect. Now we just need to see the on time, system throws and we will be cooking. He was still missing tons of reads but it was obvious he made a HUGE effort to get the ball out and I loved it. Great show of growth. I would break out the film but I am in the middle of driving to NY from Texas.

Sark's pro style offense is a double edge sword. On one hand its a bit clunky and inefficient when you dont have studs everywhere like Saban Bama. That said its also why he gets the QBs he does. Kids wanna learn it so they can be ready for the next level. I dont think Arch comes here if its the air raid.

When it seems inevitable that we play bad is when we usually rise to the occasion.
-
Bro. Thats only accurate in your mind. Politics alone, he is the 180 of me. Keep trying but remember. We both have keyboards. The last time I took the gloves off you got banned and we all rather enjoy you being here so let's keep it about football.
-
You made more than a few comments about spoiled rich kid. Seemed like it.
-
Yeah, thats not me. My point last year was we weren't as good around the QB as the Derkas of the world thought we were. Running game completely disappeared in big games. O-line with inexplicable whiffs consistently every game. This has been a problem every year. I wasn't saying Arch wouldn't be good. I was saying he wouldn't make those issues disappear. So my I told you so was that, because certain people told us that Arch standing tall in the pocket and mobility would totally make the systemic Oline issues go away. And you are right. He isnt there yet. I think its going to take a good bit of time to get there but he also needs some help from the coaches and Oline.n
-
I truly think he will get there Hobbes. My personal opinion is that not being challenged in high school made his learning curve a lot steeper than it would be if he came from 5 or 6a ball. He had all day to look around in high school.
-
Alright dude. If you wanna take the gloves off we can do that. You are closer to Whitlock than I ever will be. In size and personality.
-
Again, I am not @Derka. I am not pissed at my quarterback for coming from a perceived higher station in life. This isn't fucking teams. I told you so's ended against OSU. Its winning time now. I just want him to play better, and in the long run he will. I've said that 100 times. Being critical of his play doesn't mean I want him to fail. Move on from that bullshit.
-
Oops. I thought that was for me and didnt see who you quoted . My bad.
-
The play is the play Roma. Its not opinion. This isnt politics. He either saw it or he didnt. That said I have never wanted Arch benched. The argument was simply about what he shouldve done. Nothing more. Quit trying to make me Derka who disliked Quinn from season one on. I hope Arch kicks ass tomorrow. Im just pointing out what Im seeing.
-
Yep. And what does that tell you? He isnt processing what he is seeing.
-
One doesn't have to be an expert. So the passing concept on that play is called smash. A lot of coordinators run it with a hitch and a corner route like this. The idea behind this concept is that you are reading the outside corner. If he is up and pressing we are trying to attack the area in red. However, if the outside corner is protecting that area by giving cushion to the outside receiver we throws the stick route with the idea that if we put it on him immediately he can get to the sticks. This is what it looks like. However, Sarkisian runs his like this. Instead of the inside receiver running a corner route, he runs a fade instead. The fade does two things. First, if the outside corner is playing up and the space behind him is vacated, the fade release gives the QB the opportunity to let it go immediately. The other thing it does is, if the outside corner is playing off, and the ball is thrown properly, all the receiver has to do is release inside after the catch and it naturally puts Wingo between him and his defender. This is how it looks below. So now that we know that let's look at the play again. We start out in 3x1 with the single to the boundary. Arch motions the man out of the backfield and a defender goes with him. Now I want you to pay attention to where that man came from. That is 6"2.5 244lb sophomore inside linebacker Aaron Chiles Jr, who should starts btw. Now you've forced Florida to declare man coverage. Remember what we said the read was. If the corner is pressing you throw the fade. If the corner is playing off we throw the stop route. Look at the corner below. Playing off right? Now Arch has all the information he needs for what to do. PLUS, he has a 244lb linebacker on Tre Wisner. Look at him shaking. Ten yards off the ball. That is a QB's dream. But if you are listening to Codexx. This play is dead in the water. Again, if this ball is out here that LB is grabbing at ankles by the time he recovers. He breaks his route down 3 yards from the sticks and ole buddy is still 6-7 yards off in coverage. One doesn't have to be an expert. One simply has to have common sense.

Again, you are either being willfully obtuse, or are just not even reading what I am saying. Imagine you are the QB. You motioned your receiver to the left and a man went with him. So now you know it's Cover 2 with man underneath or as us olds call it "man 2". As soon as you get that information in your head you should be working the pick play on the boundary. Why? Because the safety to that side is insignificant as he is too deep, and the pick play you have on is specifically designed to beat this EXACT coverage. That's how you play football. You don't "scan sideline to sideline". Sark put the motion in there to force them to declare man or zone so then his quarterback knows where his best chance of success is. Quit trying to make it like I'm doing something nefarious here. It's basic football. If he hits dude on the break, he only has to get two or 3 yards to get to the sticks with his man 5 yards off him. You take that chance. And I said a quarterback SHOULD expect pressure on 3rd and 9. I didn't say they brought a blitz. I will go back and find this same play in another game where the O-line holds up if it makes you feel better. Then when he doesn't see it there either what will you say?
-
What are you talking about sideline to sideline? It's 3rd and nine. If I asked every football fan in the US what is going to happen on 3rd and nine they would say the defense is going to dial up some pressure. That said any QB in this situation should be thinking the same, and calculating opportunities to get the ball out quickly. If you know you have a quick hitting pick available use it. Again, this kid will make this throw next year. He just isn't seeing it currently, and yes the OL getting whipped made it worse.
-
Again with this shit. It's not a 5th fucking read. Where do you guys come off with this shit? You read where to go based on the coverage and the situation Codexx. You are 5 wide. You have trips to the field with 4 defenders. You have twins to the boundary with 3. The two verticals are going to take both safeties. So now what do you have left? A pick to your left and an out to your right. A QB should know where to go. The route is a quick hitter just short of the sticks with a pick. If the ball is there on time he can get the couple yards to get the first. You guys and your 5th read shit is getting infuriating. If you read every long route first, you would never get to any short route as they would all be complete by the time you cycled to them. This pick route is built into this play for a reason. It's expected to use it. Again, if we were looking at this we would already be throwing it. Wingo is intentionally running at the defender responsible for the stick route. So if that defender wants to recover he has to get through Wingo. You can see it from here. Ball should be coming out and the DB would have to get through Wingo. This is well designed to get you a chance to pick up the play. Again, the DB responsible for the stick route is 5 yards off the man with Wingo crossing his face. The two talking heads, who noticed what was available on the play prior, are being disingenuous here. Most experienced QBs would make this throw and we wouldn't even think twice about it. Every week. All around the country. There are 3rd down plays where two of the receivers are running deep routes and the QB takes the snap and immediately fires on the underneath route. You guys act like its asking a lot. It's called a pre-snap read, and it's not illegal or weird to do.
-
This is why I dislike talking heads sometimes. The play at the 10:30 mark where they go 5 wide. He is criticizing fans for saying get rid of the football and telling us how if he threw it that it would get picked off. Then Ian is talking about how it would be a really long throw. Meanwhile they are on the left hash, and the two receivers to the boundary are going to run a pick. The outside receiver runs a stick route and the inside runs a corner route picking his man. The stick route is wide open if Arch just hits him on his break. Ball would be out before the rush got home. I know these guys see that. I don't believe talking heads are always honest. I have seen text messages of them getting scolded by coaches, university officials, and players families and told to clean up their "opinions" the next show. They need to keep their access. Again, this does not take away from the fact that the offensive line is atrocious. Just be honest in your criticism. The very play before they were honest when they said Arch could've hit the pick across the middle, but that was on a play where Arch was already successful. It feels a lot like some calls were made from some officials to say back off our boy. I honestly think Arch will eventually figure it out, but the 180 from all the usual suspects in a single game is a bit curious. Film Guy even made it a point to say he has no connections. OK buddy. You got the All 22 as soon as the game was over but no connections.

The NFL is hot opinions and measurables my dude. Lets remember Jamarcus Russell was the 1st pick overall and Tom GOAT Brady almost didn't make the league. Also, you think his best year was his freshman year? Ridiculous. Literally zero statistics back that up. Lol
-
You know what? The Oline sucks. The dude running the Oline sucks. The coach allowing the dude running the Oline to suck also sucks. The scout team responsible for simulating the opponent so the Oline can be prepared sucks. The grad assistant responsible for cutting up the tape for the Oline to study sucks. Arch will figure out a way to stop sucking here pretty soon. You wanna know why? His uncles aren't going to let him besmirch the family name. They were pretty hands off but they are going to be breaking down film with him the rest of the season I bet. I expect a miraculous turnaround.

National Media- First game what is wrong with Arch Manning. Second game Arch Manning has the yips. Third game Arch Manning is a bust. Fourth game Arch Manning is back baby! Fifth game Arch Manning's O-line sucks.
