  1. You are an ocean of terrible takes but I couldn't let this go. You seem to be completely clueless about the modern game. You are reminiscing about inefficient Karl Malone mid-range jumpers and feeding KP the ball 20 times a game with his back to the basket while saying teams don't win games off of shooting? https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/shots-general/?sort=FG3A_FREQUENCY&dir=1&Season=2020-21&SeasonType=Playoffs Six of the last seven champs were in the top 10 teams in the league in frequency of threes, and the 7th was 11. 2020 Lakers 11th 2019 Raptors 5th 2018 Warriors 6th 2017 Warriors 5th 2016 Cavs 3rd 2015 Warriors 1st 2014 Spurs 10th This season 7 of the top 11 of those teams are still playing. I'm going to venture a guess that as a football fan you are a "you have to establish the run in order to pass" believer.
  2. Respect to Bear's business acumen. You know what is better than one bag? All the bags.
  3. Just adorable. I'm sure most of his subs will be able to pick up on the subtext and won't get too far over their skis here. No doubt, we got a 10/10! The difference is everyone here understands he'll visit Notre Dame next, also be blown away on that visit and likely commit there shortly after.
  4. Maybe they really did blow him away but even from their mods' glowing reports I'm not seeing much by way of prediction that they will actually win out. Feels more like they are setting up their story. "The fightin ags did all they could and staged a furious comeback to get back into the mix but due to factors mostly outside of their control they weren't able to beat out the big12 squad." Made up a ton of ground isn't the same thing as took the lead. We're at worst a toss up with our visit still to go. 'If even, we're leaving' corollary applies.
  5. Hook’em Keilan! Formations with Robinson and Robinson and the field at the same time is going to be a problem for DCs. Funny that he was #2 at Bama, I guess when you’ve had the rbs that Alabama had recently even if you are Derrick Henry you don’t get your number retired. I’m gonna guess he goes with “0” in Burnt Orange.
  6. The fuck is up with the high school girl graduation pose on the bottom right?
  7. Bumping this thread because I just saw this Patton tweet and it reminded me of my post and what I was trying to get at:
  8. I think this is Gerry saying Ketch’s time is running out, he’s been taking shots at him for months. No complaints if an Ewers flip is imminent though.
  9. I'm going to guess people's mileage may very on him, but I liked Bo Burnham's new special "Inside". He filmed, wrote, shot, and edited the whole thing in quarantine. It's pretty funny at times and also kind of an interesting look at a really smart, creative guy trying not to lose his mind.
  10. Yeah, I'm on the same page and I assume that is part of the pitch. Keilan isn't being recruited to fight RoJo for the leftover carries that don't go to Bijan, he's a player that we can carve out a specific role for: out-wide, 2-rb sets, motions, and in the slot.
  11. Can anybody parse what this means for me?
  12. A few lingering questions:
  13. Nope, you made a blanket statement about how the limiting factor for Thompson declaring early would be his lack of experience. You were given plenty of examples how this is wrong. If you feel like Thompson isn't a risk to declare because of his measurables you should have probably said that. You wouldn't have gotten any pushback on that. The point everyone is pushing back against is the experience part.
  14. Like historically great Mitch Trubisky? Who can forget his storied career at *checks notes* North Carolina. Can't wait for the 30 for 30. I don't think Casey Thompson leaves after this season but mainly because he doesn't have NFL measurables. QBs with limited experience declare early after moderately successful seasons all the time.
  15. Yeah of course, having lots of good options at one position is a good thing. It's just that typically a transfer creates depth via a knockdown effect. The transfer automatically goes into the 2-deep and the guys behind him who would have been there are now quality depth. A guy who's good enough to be a drastic rb3 upgrade is probably looking to transfer somewhere with a clear path to playing time. Not always, if Robinson wants in that's exciting and good for the team. When Ingram transferred the collective response was somewhere between a shrug and "good riddance" even though he would have been objectively good depth. It doesn't square to act like we now have a desperate need to add another guy at the position who probably won't be as good as Ingram is.
  16. Hook'em Paxton. I'd be proud as hell if my daughters grow up to have this kind of courage in their convictions.
  17. Assuming he's not totally asleep at the wheel, I wonder who Jimbo is keeping warm in case that happens. Maybe circle back on Klubnik but he's probably a tough pull if Clemson wants to keep him.
  18. It's funny that posters continue to argue if a position group doesn't have an established all-conference level player at 3rd & 4th on the depth chart that means depth is a huge problem. And it can be fixed by simply adding a big time transfer who's happy to come and be the "in case of emergency" 3rd stringer.
  19. I don't really give a shit if either one of them are official heisman winners, but if they stripped it from Bush shouldn't Johnny's be forfeited as well?
  20. Has he? That seems like his preference but I thought he was a bit more open than that. Maybe it was mostly coach speak but Sark talked playing him both ways and I thought Sanders was pitched on his experience doing that with guys: I guess if you want to overanalyze things (fuck it-it's the offseason) number 3 gives him the option to come into the game in pass rushing situations while being primarily a TE (without having to do the awkward jersey change thing on the sideline). Surprisingly we don't have a '3' on defense after Green left. Of course it's pretty unlikely that he'll be effective enough in that role as a true freshman while spending the majority of practice in the TE room.
  21. Ha, same here. I was late to the party but said fuck it and bought some AMC at $13 in late January. Now I have no clue at what point to go ahead and cash out on them. This isn't really my thing, before now my market investments have just been periodic ETF buys that are more long term plays. Of course the reddit subs say you're a paper hands idiot if you sell your AMC at anything less than 500K but it's tough to take investment advice from people that communicate mainly in memes.
  22. The whole segment is just as dumb as you’d expect, but at least watch the first 6 seconds. Great save Tucker!
  23. https://www.avclub.com/oh-great-ellie-kemper-is-yet-another-rich-white-celebr-1847010681 I don't know that this is getting any traction, but this one is pretty stupid right? Participating in a debutant ball as a teenager in 1999 isn't exactly the same thing as having a plantation wedding in 2021. Of course maybe I'm just being defensive because my mom made participate in one of these things when I was a kid. I don't know that it has a problematic history for sure and haven't looked it up but...it was in Tyler, the girls wore white dresses and the dudes had to wear tails. I'm sure historically it was pretty racist. It never crossed my dumb teenage mind at the time though.
  24. I clicked on this thread thinking that the topic was referring to him being reinstated on Twitter by August. I'm honest to god relived it was just referring to the presidency.
