Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting
hmm, what do we think of Miles? I don't remember a lot of talk about him either way really. NJ defensive linemen seems to be more Jimbo territory.

Oh well if Ketch and Wescott said it. Any word from Looch or Finebaum? I don't know if anybody specifically knows Drayton's board but it's pretty universal consensus that Miller is a better prospect than Gatson.

Wow, what a great job by the staff. Every 9.95er had basically written off Miller to Texas a month ago. Staff pushes through whatever bullshit that was the hang-up, gets him on campus, and closes on a guy who always should have been a Longhorn. Great player and great data point for how this staff recruits.

Haha, glad he specified that his content would NOT be changing.

Kind of neither because Perkins wasn't a real possibly. Our mods pushing the progress we were making for him was basically the same thing that ag mods are doing with Denver Harris and Evan Stewart. Now if Jimbo actually did get him to push up his timeline to counter some momentum we're about to have...that would be good news.

On the off chance that the Perkins announcement is a commitment and not a new top 16, that would be a surprise as far as his expected timeline right? He only has two CBs on his page, the requisite aggy picks from their 247 writers.

The aggies appointing themselves as the arbiters of "fake hype" will never not be hilarious.

Not writing him off at all and I hope he sticks in the class (in a two back class with Miller), but come on. It was never really about saving his body for the next level. He's already been talking about finding a place to play his senior year and rebuilding bridges with his previous coaches. He quit because of a fight with the coaches/was kicked off the team and tried to frame it as an opt-out.

IT basically predicted as long as there wasn't word of a weird vibe coming out of the visit Anderson would be in. We kind of made fun of them for that analysis but hopefully they were at least right. Seems like there have been a couple teases about big-things with no follow-up. Gerry implied something big was happening on Saturday and then never really expanded on it. Roach mentioned rumblings that he didn't quite believe yet last night and then didn't really allude to anything in his writeup today. Just generally chumming the water I guess.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
Yeah...Saban and Bama can sell itself at this point but the Brocks signed up to play on Flood's OL in Sark's offense. If they were class of '22 or '23 they would probably have been Longhorns.

Not sure, I don’t know if it’s a silent necessarily. Hopefully it’s a commitment that is going public soon. Just waiting on a edit or peak Twitter hours or whatever.

Gerry confirmed there is a commit that isn’t public yet.

In the thread Nahlin claimed that coming off his Texas visit high Harris almost cancelled his Alabama trip.

I don't know the specifics Valai or others are using to negatively recruit but it's safe to assume it has just as much to do with fans/alumni response as the continued use of the Eyes. For example plenty on the board still don't even seem to have a good handle on what the actual issue was. No CL and not meant as a thread derail, but the official report is really worth the read if you have even a passing interest. It was well done IMO and an interesting University history at the least: https://eyesoftexas.utexas.edu/full-report/

Prayers up that he didn't finally have an erotic asphyxiation accident after seeing it. Always use a spotter people.

2021 Texas Offseason: Sark Attacks Austin
I'm curious about the interplay of Becton's mobility and functional athleticism approach vs. Flood's preference of size and strength. Probably no big deal because the whole thing is reductive. A strength program will obviously have different goals for different position groups (and even individual players) but the messaging from the 9.95ers do seem at odds a bit.

Uh, defending other teams in the Big12 like I give a shit whether they are respected makes my skin crawl, but claiming ISU would be last in the SEC West is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen written on that board. Which is really saying something. I guess they were too busy celebrating the greatest moral victory season of all time last year to notice that division was objectively shitty last season.

I'm assuming Damion Miller has given up football? Looks like he was on TJC's roster in '19 but I don't see anything more recent. Wonder if he'll be tagging along with the family for the visit, has to be tough.

2021 transfer thread
The Athletic has a series that does it (we didn't make the top25 of the 2016 re-rank): Most of those in the top 25 have a "hit rate" of 75% or higher. By my count, 23% of the 2019 Texas recruiting class never played a single live snap at UT.

Start panicking when our targets start committing to other schools. Nobody is committing to anywhere right now, June pledges are way down from previous cycles across the county. It's not a normal year for recruiting.

2021 transfer thread
I mean, holy shit. https://247sports.com/college/texas/season/2019-football/commits/ Out of 26 signees, 8 transfers (assuming Smith is gone) and 3 medical retirements. Whit has been the most productive out of the top 10 guys signed and he's barely been able to stay on the field. Adimora probably has played the most out of anyone in the class. Just unbelievably bad.
