  1. That would be believable if it weren't for the clear disparity in calls when teams play Texas versus when they play each other. Particularly holding and pass interference. It's not a fix, it's bias.
  2. lulz here we go with every bullshit call for OU
  3. I do not excuse it. Here's a list of excuses.
  4. Takes a lot more analysis than that. Three non touchdown trips were stone cold drops by receivers. At least one other one was three runs in a row so nothing to do with the QB. That's already a 14% higher red zone TD rate that has nothing to do with Ewers before a full analysis is even necessary.
  5. His analogy holds that Israel is a terrorist state. So there's that.
  6. The ironic and therefore extra irritating part being that analytics nerds realized how good Bagwell was well before outdated thinking "baseball men."
  7. Jesus. How about literally every form where race is reported to the government including the census? It was explained a while back on this thread. Race is race. Ethnicity is Hispanic or non-Hispanic. Not picking on you in particular, you just happened to be the one out of dozens I quoted.
  8. Yep there are two easy answers and that will tell everyone a lot about the direction.
  9. They didn't like the plunking. It happens.
  10. I think Skattebo and Roschon are somehow related.
  11. Yeah what the hell was that call. Horrible.
  12. The sign-stealing investigation might need to move southwest. The Sun Devils look like they're in the Washington huddle, this is crazy.
  13. I can only imagine the quality and quantity of trim available to Skattebo in Tempe. The most impressive thing about him to me would be if he graduated with zero STDs and zero children.
  14. You lose one out of every four comeback wins. In game 5 of an LCS that's dumb.
  15. Cristobal is the worst game manager I've ever seen. It's incredible.
  16. Your numbers indicate that hitting him lowered Houston's win probability by 23% (went from .048 to .037). It wasn't nothing.
  17. No, arguing Díaz is an easy out would be silly. He is a good hitter and hit a ground ball single. No shame there. Putting Singleton on without making him take the bat off his shoulders was the unforgivable part. Well I guess I forgive him but you know what I mean. People were saying Singleton had a great at bat in the immediate emotional aftermath but the dude just took 6 pitches and never looked interested in swinging.
  18. You would think after Episode #101 that baseball fans would realize the baseball gods are on the Astros' side. Why would they be on their side? Because everyone was cheating and has always cheated in baseball. Maybe once the whiners shut up about it the Astros will come back down to earth. Until then the all-knowing gods will continue to look favorably on them. Also, I have no problem with García's reaction in that moment. He also gets the benefit of knowing he was super amped up. Nobody should have been ejected on either side.
  19. Does anyone know who won the World Series the year PitchCom debuted and made stealing pitch signs impossible? I can't recall.
  20. If Urquidy hadn't given up the lead I think the official scorer would have given Brown the win. But the way it worked out the rule doesn't give any room for judgment.
  21. I'm glad you see the parallel though. Simple question: was the massacre of Native American people and imperial elimination of Native American sovereignty just or disgusting? We all know it was disgusting, but because it happened a long time ago oh well I guess. And the parallels don't stop there. Nobody on this forum gets emotional about Native American raids that massacred white invaders' whole families. In fact we understand why they did it and recognize that on the whole the white Europeans and Americans were the ones who bore more responsibility for the overall conflict. Do we support the method? Not really. But that shit happens when you're engaged in the destruction of their families. This isn't even controversial at this point. It didn't work out (like it won't work for Hamas) but it was understandable. But because it's happening contemporaneously lots of emotions are blinding people right now. We're all basically watching it happen again and the sides people are taking are interesting.
