  1. I'm thinking the lack of chicks might not have been just because they dig the long ball.
  2. Yep, but the infatuation with home runs isn't going anywhere any time soon. Maybe if I luck out into a few huge Powerball jackpots in a three year span. If I ever owned a MLB team I promise you the ballpark would be all about balls in play and gap hits. And if I had that much money the fan and batter complaints wouldn't make a shit to me.

  4. Man we could have had the same Nationals column but you messed up the Gold Glove with that lazy pick!
  5. I consider it baseball's version of flopping. You are actively trying to trick an official to get a call.
  6. Correct. His 60 triples rank 519th on the all time list.
  7. He's 6th active. Not as close on the rank of the active leader.
  8. You also don't want Alvarez and Tucker back to back to make things easy on lefty relievers (yeah I know how they're hitting lefties right now but still). Are you playing DubΓ³n in LF there? DHing Yordan? I think best bet there is rotating DH between Yordan, Altuve, and PeΓ±a to keep them healthy.
  9. Followup question - who is the active career leader in triples and where does he rank +/- 40 spots?
  10. Just gotta remember that the Nationals are the Expos franchise and it gets a lot easier for us older guys.
  11. It's Joey Votto in 103rd place. Only one current player in the all time top 100 and it's not like doubles are as rare as sac bunts and stolen bases these days. Pretty crazy to me.

  13. He's 3rd on the active list so excellent guess
  14. Eduardo PΓ©rez working hard to explain why Maldy plays.
  15. Tris Speaker is the all time leader in doubles with 792. Miguel Cabrera leads active players with 617 and ranks 14th on the all time list. Who is second among active players and where does he rank on the all time list +/- 20 spots?

  19. Yeah in that example I didn't even say anything, just chuckled. It helped that the pitcher gave a disbelieving laugh, the umpire kind of looked straight down at the ground when he realized his call had been so bad that even the guy who benefited from it was laughing.
  20. Yeah it's absolutely ridiculous. On my son's high school JV summer team an opposing parent almost got kicked out for riding the ump. A few things about that. One, their team sucks and was getting blown out anyway. Two, the ump was actually good and had called more walks on our pitchers than theirs at that point. Three, when the ump turned around and told him that was enough his accent made it hilarious when he said "I've had just about enough of your lip." Finally, you'll all be shocked to learn that the dumbass's son was pitching when he went too far. On the other hand sometimes it's hard not to say something. My son got rung up on a high fastball a little while back and I have a video of it crossing the plate even with his mouth. Not an exaggeration.
  21. That one is Kiner, missed the question. The latest question I have no clue. Logically trying to think of someone who was injured during the first half of the season to hit both requirements but can't come up with anyone. Seems like Kirk Gibson was always gimpy so I'll guess him.
  22. Majors state tournaments over the next few days. Texas East: Bellaire vs. Groves National, Washington County vs. Needville Texas West: Northside Suburban (SA) vs. Corpus Christi National, Midland Northern vs. Westside (FW)
