  1. talking about Auburn's grandiose plans... Pat Forde makes an interesting comparison with UT. Sorry if already shared. https://www.si.com/college/2020/12/14/forde-yard-dash-auburn-texas-coaching-decisions

So who starts next year at position for UT? Does the DL take a downgrade? Just wondering. Also, if he makes it in first round, does that show the Herman reign to have underutilized talent on campus?
  3. This is setting up nicely for Jimbo. Auburn and LSU both trending downward, Ole Miss and Miss St still more than one year away from doing any damage and that's if all things fall into place for Joey Freshwater and the Pirate. Arkansas and South Carolina aren't ever going to be trouble for a semi-competent Aggie corch. If he can manage to keep his hot DC from getting poached, and upgrade his QB room, he may be unquestioned #2 to Bama. We're #2! We're #2! hey... that's as good as #1 in any other conference. Especially as you see us backing into the playoffs! ;) So now we wait for Saban to retire. We, as in the whole damn college football world other than Bama. :D
  4. SEC... Saban and the little Ex-assistants Conference...
  5. Was the whale in Moby Dick a white whale? Not sure. But there is this famous line from this famous book... Also, and relatedly... Moby Dick now more like Mopey Dick (channeling Leon Black from Curb Your Enthusiasm)?
  6. This season hopefully is the last time we have a 4-team playoff. I'd much rather get to see Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Cinci Bearcats get the opportunity... make it more like the Big Dance, where you don't have to be a blue blood, you can have a dream season and get in the playoff Top 8, and show what you're made of.
  7. Why? I think A&M would have wanted to play both Ole Miss and Tenn game. Ole Miss is done, but Tenn could still happen... one more game for A&M and one fewer for OSU (not that that matters as much, apparently). IMO, the only way A&M even backs into the playoffs is if ND beats Clemson. So far, the committee has only let two teams from one conference into the playoffs and that conference is SEC, so that works in A&M's favor. If Clemson beats ND next week, that ends it and it'll be Bama, ND, Clemson and OSU*. There's no way the committee will pick teams from two teams each from ACC and SEC, that's not a good look. So there'll be B1G rep...most likely OSU. *expecting OSU to win against Northwestern.
  8. But did Mullen get to pack the stadium like he wanted to? lol He was a sore loser in his post-game talk after he took the A&M loss.
  9. Mullen did really piss away this game. I was hoping Florida would win a close one but Mullen outpaced my expectations in throwing this one away.
  10. I don't understand the reasoning of how Florida would jump A&M and get into the play-offs, if SEC does get two teams in. The selection committee could have made the change the last two weeks if they thought that's the direction they would go. Moot point now, regardless, since they don't be asked to make that decision. FWIW, ESPN's odds of making play offs had A&M ahead of Florida and Cinci.
  11. shoe. it was a shoe-in for LS-Shoe. that's what happened. lol
  12. exactly. does Clemson get in even if it loses to ND twice? if they don't get in, then A&M backs in. and then gets its shit pushed in by Bama. i'd rather not have that kind of play off game, but maybe I'll change my mind and still take it as a play off entrance.
  13. that egg bowl game stunt was actually atrocious. amazingly it kinda ended up costing them the game and the HC... but i guess they fell ass backwards into Joey Freshwater and might find themselves relevant as soon as next year. the shoe-throwing tonight was just knuckle headed.
  14. well, this game is just all messed up.
  15. good enough for a hoedown! or perhaps more appropriately, a Saturday night waltz! too bad he didn't waltz into the end zone... instead FL kicking a tying FG now. (sorry, couldn't resist a classical music reference!)
  16. yea, I think they finally benched Finley for good after he threw that pick six to the middle linebacker... perfectly freshman QB thing to do, to throw in the middle of the field while getting rushed and in the shadow of his own goal posts. it's hard when you have two fresh QBs that you didn't get much time in spring to figure out who is the better, or who has the skill set you might need. All the same, glad they kept Finley in for as long as they did... haha.
  17. yes. they already won their division; this is a cross-division game (their standing cross-division "rivalry" game, i think).
  18. He did. He tried out both of them. It was a rainy mess and both offenses played like shit in that game... A&M's played just slightly less shitty (minus Mond, he played his usual shitty self).
  19. honestly, i laughed at Arizona St for hiring Herm Edwards; I thought for sure Stumblin will do well in the PAC and especially in Arizona going up against ol' Herm. Herm Edwards' first few press events made him seem pretty out of touch with the college game. But dang he proved me wrong, for sure. Still not good enough for the upper echelon of that conference, but heck, he outlasted the cool corch Stumblin!
  20. honestly, A&M only backs into the final 4 if ND does its job and beats Clemson again next week. There's no way the committee picks two teams from two leagues. ND and Bama are in, regardless. And I'm thinking OSU makes it in as well. If Clemson loses next week, they're out. That's the only way A&M makes it in. Otherwise it's going to be Bama, ND, Clemson, OSU. A&M more than likely ends up in something like Cotton Bowl, and if the matchup is just "right", they'll probably lose. (Hoping this isn't my BAS talking.)
